    I'd love to see more Yarn Battles. These comparisons are so much more helpful than single-yarn reviews. My first yarns were Caron One Pound and Lion Brand Pound of Love.

    Excellent review! Packed with useful info. Only one more thing to mention, and that is the fact that Caron Simply Soft has no dye lot, and the other two are dye lotted. This makes a huge difference, you can always get more as long as they are still making that colorway. Also it’s important to wash and dry them a few times to see how they hold up. My experience is that Caron holds up well, but the halo does grow with washings. I have never used the other two brands, but now I am going to try them! Thanks for a great video.

    I really appreciated the candid comments regarding these three yarns. I made a king 40:36 size bedspread with the Simply Soft and the hallo affect was so bad after the year it took to finish it that it looked severely worn. (Photo available if you wish).

    I started with Caron's Simply Soft and then started experimenting with Yarn Bee's Soft Secret.
    Thanks for putting me on game to the yarn from Michael's.

    I have to say this was by far the best side by side comparison of three yarns that I have ever seen. You touched on all of the things that I care about. Thank you so much

    Hobby Lobby has 30% off yarn every other week. Thanks for this btw. It was truly helpful.

    Im kinda curious what they all would look like after a was through the washing machine and dryer... I don't know how to knot just yet. But I do crochet. I love that you showed both.

    I love loops and threads. Caron however has more choices and. Can buy in bulk at a lesser price from Joann’s.

    My absolute favorite is Loops and Threads (it has the better shine, I just don't know how it last and washes, very skeptical of that), but if i'm riding by Hobby Lobby, i'm def'ly stopping and buying me some yarn. Just discovered this brand last fall and have been purchasing every since. I make baby sweaters and my go to is Loops&Threads because it's more obtainable for me. I just wish true ombres with the fading in to the next color ... those are hard to find/I guess they're more expensive to make.
    So yes, I agree!! Thank you for this review of my favorite yarn.

    Thanks for the lovely yarn 'battle'. I would really be interested and am looking for a video that compares each yarn AFTER its been washed. I need to know how each washes up.

    Caron Simply soft is a weight 4. They always place the store brand next to the name brand so you can see how good they are. Hobby Libby has its version too. Of course, you’ve seen it too! I’ve never heard anyone refer to a yarn skein as “him.

    I love Caron but have tried both loops and threads and yarn bee. YB has a beautiful shine but I dont like how slick it is when crocheting. My go to would be L&T and Caron. I just found your channel. Thanks. Like the reviews. They are helpful. Can you maybe do a video on best yarns for both crochet and knitting as i just picked up kbitting needles.

    Which one splits the least? That's my only beef with the caron.

    • @layeringcrafts3375
      @layeringcrafts3375  2 роки тому

      Yes, I know. It can be so frustrating. I'm seeing many people say Loops & Threads splits the least. What type of hook are you using?

    • @rachelharris725
      @rachelharris725 2 роки тому

      @@layeringcrafts3375 just the basic Susan bates, not the very pointy ones. Tried various sizes. My tension is fine. I'm about half way through a willow square Afghan in caron ss in pagoda and I'm really frustrated with how fuzzy it is. I've been crocheting for 30 years since I was 12 and this is the only yarn I am having this problem. About ready to call it quits and start over with maybe lion brand anti-pilling yarn.

    I enjoyed seeing the comparisons however if it could be just more comparing the yarn as opposed to shopping etc. also when comparing about them being bulk 4 which is thicker or thinner clearly the yarn bee being only 300 yards which was the least in yards yet their all the same 6 oz so clearly the yarn bee would be on the largest of bulk 4 compared to the other two. At least it would seem to be.

    It has been said that many acrylic yarns have a protective coating on them that protects them through the handling process but that the first wash removes this coating. I wonder if this is the so called dirt feeling ur experiencing

    You kept saying different prices at Michael's than it originally showed which was 4.49. Also you should of compared yardage of caron and others

    HL has 30% off all yarn every other week. That is standard for them. Their 40% off 1 item coupon has been discontinued. I love the Yarn Bee. But Yarnspirations has the market on colors or selection on the Caron Simply Soft brand. The same with their RH line. RH makes THE BEST TRUE OMBRÉ YARN 🧶. The definition of the word Ombré: a solid color or tone that fades or shades slowly into a lighter color. They have always had that title. They also have done something different with their yarn. RH is WAY softer now, and I like this very much. 🥰

      Yes, thank you! I definitely have a RH battle coming up!
