- Climbing Mount Fuji in the offseason! We caught an amazing weather window in November and took advantage of it to have an amazing summit experience on Fuji. Everything worked in our favor, and the ascent was an inspiring experience for me and especially John, who not only had a once in a lifetime climb, but it was actually his first mountain! JaYoe!

" It's not the destination that matters, it's the journey" .......well done the both of you...
What a great video. Thank you. Since you met John you have come alive. I can see how God's Grace is working in your life...in one of your previous videos you said to Annie you would only go up Mount Fuji if it was sunny. Not only did God give you a sunny day to climb it but He gave you 2 companions to go with, one being John. Shame about breaking the drone propellers and tearing your rain trousers - I hope the propellers can be easily replaced and the trousers can be patched up. God's Grace also worked in your life in another video where you were quite lonely and wanted some company, then that evening you had a feast with a family in the "Fish and Chip shop" which sells no fish and chips, and the following morning they gave you a boat trip. Bless you. Paul.
thats right... when you need... often times you get... just have to keep your eyes and heart open and ready.
Now this is my new favorite JaYoe adventure. We stream onto our tv so we can all watch together, and the view was breathtaking - in visual as well as drama.
I was worried like any mom when I’d see over your shoulder and worry about the altitude. Worried you’d stumble when talking to us. Of course, we wouldn’t be watching the vlog if you had. Your an John’s joy at the top was how I would feel.
Am so glad you mentioned that you probably should have kept an eye on John’s decent a bit better - but the excitement of the day and the way you respected his personal/private experience made this understandable. We Love you kids. When Mike is in worst pain, I just have to say, “Matt uploaded another one,” and he immediately smiles. Don’t change and JaYoe, Kiddo.
The most enjoyable Vlog of the trip so far. Thank you so much for sharing this experience Matt.
I love it when you get philosophical - I have the same philosophy on time and distances: the more traveled, the shorter the increments become
That was an amazing summit. Thanks for taking us along. Great company too. Awesome.
Having John with you must have been fantastic his enthusiasm is infectious to even watch. And your enthusiasm is also infectious. Just watching you is JaYoe. You had to try to fly the drone. The view is breathtakingly beautiful. Keep up the good work and keep that JaYoe smile happening.
haha yea... I HAD TO fly... so no regret :)
@@JaYoeNation Hey bro. thanks for the video, so i'm just wondering when you climb on off season. is there some paperwork you gotta submit to the officials? pr you just hike stealthy, avoiding local officials eyes assasin's creed style?
Alvino Kesaulya assassin’s creed. Lol. No notice. Just go
@@JaYoeNation hahaha, guess i need to train my stealth skill :)
btw, what about transportation? is there a bus that went to the 5th station on off season? lets say on april
thank you for taking me up this hill!, (Mount Fuji)Like I had told you before, fighting cancer, and being on chemo all the time. I would never get to go there, or anyplace like that. but with you I get to go places I would never get to go. and that is why I want to find your patrion page and do two or three per month for your worth even more than that, I dont have a lot to give, but your worth it Matt, and never think your not!I'm on total disability, SSI. so I dont have a bunch, but what i have i want you to have some as well. I wish I could do...25.00 per month, but that cant happen. so sorry my friend! keep posting as it's your sight, and Johns only in Japan that I watch, but yours is so much more interesting, since you are hitting on massively more area than John does.
+Ray Schwartz no problem ray. Just watch is enough for me!
well that i can do, but still would like to give you something ...
How are you now?
thank you both
Climbing Mount Fuji in the Off Season! i knew he would do it :3
A bit different than the approach to Everest Matt but interesting nonetheless. Beautiful day great video.
It's good you have John with you, climbing solo is rarely a good plan. Hard lines on the drone fail, but better a machine fail than any of you. Thanks for letting me ride along in your backpack, KBO brother!
15:34 - 15:37 best explanation ever.
haahah you liked that? :)
Sure did. They say a picture speaks a thousand words , so did that reenactment .
Master Q it actually made sense lol wow
+Master Q hahahahahahah!
+the JaYoe Nation yeah, no translation for that "zzzzzzzzzzzpppppp"
Thank you for sharing Matt, and congratulations,it's nice video
Great vid dude. Had no idea you could even climb during the off season. Awesome^^
yea... if the conditions are perfect...
i hear some people having to fill out paperwork just to climb during off season when its considered closed?
Well done boys. An amazing day I guess. Well deserved a cold beer :)
Did he just whoooo! on top of Mount Fuji? In the face of the sublime he does an In-Your-Face dance. It reminds me of Mark Twain's book "Innocents Abroad" when the American tourists all rushed to cut off a piece of everything they saw to bring home to show their friends. Even when I was 12 years old, if my Boy Scout troop had walked to the top of Mount Fuji and someone had acted like Matt, we would all have wanted to throw him in the volcano. Sometimes we must all ask ourselves: "Am I really adding oil? Really?"
+stonetrouble good think I was the only one up there. No one to toss me in. Giving a hoorah at the culmination of an incredible day is fine with me.
thing... not think....
It's only natural to release your pent up aggression when you achieve success. No problem with me. 加油
Awesome you guys did this! Great footage!
Congratulations Matt
Man it must be absolutely packed with people in the on-season.
Good choice my friend.
This is so cool seeing you as the only ones on Fuji!
See you soon, Fuji-san
Still going to try in October with little mountaineering experience. Will try to grab my roommate or a stranger to come with me though.
26th May 2023.
its a great training mountain...
@@JaYoeNation For a beginner, how tough is it on a scale of 1-10 climbing in October?
Well done Matt its on the bucket list dude but at least one of has summited something this year :-)
Ha I come back to your videos.. this year ill do Fuji and go back to Muztag Ata 😅👍🏻
fantastic!
i am biased but Kyushu has so much hot spring Onsen town of Oita and Kagoshima and kumamoto Castle Fuji s cool in both ways by looks u and sailing Nanji most original pro V loggers deserve more seeing u too keep Ja Yoeing
This is the first travel vlog of yours I have seen!
Hey Matt. Enjoyed your video! I found it because I was trying to research going up Fuji in the last week of October/first week of November because I will be in Japan for business then. Any ideas how I can find a partner in Japan? If I find a partner, is the route easy enough to follow, such that we won't need a guide? What kind of footwear did you use? Thx!
i dont know how you would find a partner... i would stay at K's hostel and put the word out.... im pretty sure you can find someone with a similar desire. Be sure the weather is great... shoes are strong (mostly loose volcanic rock)
You enjoyed it so much!
Wow looks amazing!!!
Nice job, guys! You are on top of the world now! Great explanation indeed! Very fortunate to have run into such perfect weather! So jealous of you two!
Steve Fei Hou I didn’t see anything on it...
Great episode!
I did not expect to see ropes! Red arch etc! Steps!
Really shocked to see Lion Statues! Not what I expected!
Super cool Explanation. My boy frind and I are planning on climbing Fuji San on october. Would you mind to share the place where you stayed the night before clabing and how was taking the taxi to 5Th station?
the taxi was totally fine... the hostel was one of my favorites... i wish i did a more in depth review of it.... K's house i think... if you look at my other videos there you can see...
Wow! Coins in the wood!
Lovely video, Matt. Were any of the shelters open, in spite of it being out of season, in case the weather closes in?
Did the Mavic freak out because of the wind? The altitude should be fine at 3776 meters, the height of Fuji-san as the max ceiling height of the Mavic is about 5000 m.
+Nilguiri nothing was open. App closed up. Yea well below 5k
Ah, OK. thanks :)
An excellent climb to both of you!
Glad you mentioned about that lady in the end. I was nervous why you hadn't met her coming down since you I don't think she met you at the top. Anyway, seems like everyone's had a good time.
There should be a Starbucks on top of Mt. Fugi.
Js Travelers yes! Matt is Mr. Starbucks.
You’re living my dreams Matt - one day!
It really was a cake walk, baked Alaska, to be exact. 加油
HAHAH
I actually thought it was Bombe Alaska not Baked Alaska. Very similar.
Great Work, Excellent Adventure, Nice Video. What happened to the drone? Was it the wind or something else?
+Carl Bradley Taylor combination of wind and me not thinking quick enough
King of the mountain with ripped pants 👍🏼
! Poor drone ! Must be hard to video and hike up and down
where's the drone footage of the summit?
Nice video
I'll be doing this in Feb. what kind of shoes do you recommend for climbing it?
Great vlog ...
Hello, I will be climbing in May and I was wondering, will there be bathrooms up there?
Your friend looks like Kato in that mask.
A bargain bucket Kato. A really shite Halloween costume version.
Which month did you went? I was planning to go in mid Apr or end june but still cant decide because its off season
Wow. You really inspired me. Now I will try climb the highest mountain in the Netherlands. Who wants to sponsor me? First I need a new house where I can mentally prepare.
drie wiel I need a gf first instead.
drie wiel You have a good sense of humor!
But.......
drie wiel No but!
yup.... you dont need anything except the will... once you have that... all things are possible.
is this the Yoshida Trail of Fujinomiya???
nevermind it is the Yoshida Trail, what month was this may i ask?
I just read that Mount Fuji has an average yearly sum of 300,000 climbers per year during tourist season..!
+Zachary Mohrmann yup. Busy busy
15:33 me explaining to the police man how the dude that hit me in traffic was driving.
Looks like you forgot to go to the actual summit! Great time to climb though.
i was not far from it though... i enjoyed the climb and have no regrets
What time of year was this?
I wanted to climb in November...but i read that few people have died climbing during the off season....makes me a bit scared to do it especially since i'll be solo traveling.....
its not hard.. but the conditions need to be perfect and you need to have experience...
the JaYoe Nation thanks for the fast reply!!! I’m pretty experience in hikes, a bit fit and pretty smart in preparation. Though this will be my first hike in such cold condition. Hike is set to be on nov 9.... I hope weather condition is decent
fuji is an easy climb... i did it in a day easy... but up towards the summit it can get steep and icy.. and you have to make sure you can ascent with good footing... if its too icy, you should have a pair of crampons.. i didnt have any.. but it was unseasonably clear up there that day.
13:35 so the summit is up there, you didnt go? 🤔🤷♂️😅
Too windy for your bird 🙈
I'm Just really taking this all in, and wondering if Matt was a victim of hypoxia, and doesn't realise all what he is saying... Nonetheless he submitted Fuji ... Yea...!
+Zachary Mohrmann hahaha I was a bit high... on life. Lol
I didn't mean that in a derogatory way...!
Why do people like to scream when on a mountain?
it's a good release....
Time does not exist. it is a false perception.
Matt! stop with the clanking music! SOOOO annoying! Please!
+Vera Green :(!!!!!!!! I like that tune.
the JaYoe Nation you listen to it all you want for yourself, just please don't put it in videos, it brings on migraines for me and hubby. I like your video but not when there is repetitive clanking music, it makes it cringey to listen to while trying to watch the video.
