    This video is a bit longer than usual as these chairs have many details that I wanted to show to make a good tutorial.
    This time the materials are listed at the beginning of the video. Waxed cotton cord is available in bead stores. I have purchased the thread covered wire also from a bead store, but it is a bit more difficult item to find. I think a nice result could be achieved also by using a metal wire (0,8 - 1mm) and painting it with matt paint though I have not tested that myself.

      Thank you :) I will check out your video. I have never tried making anything in 1:24 scale. Smallest I have done has been 1:18 scale.

    Oh my goodness I just now found your channel. This is adorable I would love to make this because it reminds me of my grandmother. You make it so fast and looks easy, but I’m not sure I grasped all the steps appropriately to be able to make one. I sure wish I could.

    • @dawsie

      Turn off the sound and then slow the video down it makes it easier to see the steps.
      I’m going to make it Barbie size first just to get the feel for it and then will down scale it to my 1/12 doll house size. For the Barbie size I will use twine but will coat it in glue to tame the fibers on the twine, this should also help with the weaving as it will be firm but flexible. I think 14 g wire should work at that size but it will be stiffer to bend the X shape so the use of players will be needed.
      I hope this helps you to give it a go

      I'm happy to hear you are enjoying my channel. Another wicker furniture tutorial is coming up soon. A member in my old doll's house club showed us years ago how to make a very simple wicker basket. After that, I just started making bigger and more complicated projects basically through trial and error. Even after making hundreds of wicker pieces, this does still take a good while to make.

    What size is the drill piece you use?

    • @johannaksminilife2153
      @johannaksminilife2153  10 місяців тому +1

      When I use a finger drill (like on this video), I use 1mm drill piece. If I use my Dremel multi tool, I use 1.2mm drill piece.

    Great video, how long do you cut the wire?

    • @johannaksminilife2153
      @johannaksminilife2153  Рік тому +2

      The longer pieces are about 8cm. It's more than is needed, but left overs that are at least 2-3cm can be used in other furniture.
