Repairing a Metabo brushless hammer that will not lock the chisel.

- Ever brand of hammer or rotory hammer has a lock chisel and free chisel mode So you can change the angle of the chisel head.
This metabo is not locking the chisel anymore, so the chisel us constantly moving around.
There is a plastic lock sleeve inside the hammer that eventually wears out and needs replacing .

I like them. They dont get enough credit. For metal working, metabo is top quality
When i first started as a Carpenter and Joiner 37yrs ago there wasnt any better drills than Metabo, but they were never worth fixing back then as cost wasnt worth it.
They seem to be regaining their reputation again in the last few years & also worth noting that a couple of the Mafell drills are actually rebranded Metabo.
Had to LOL at rhe spare part though "Made in China" when people are paying a premium for that German build quality 🤗

Hi sir can I ask your help, I’ve watched loads of your videos over time, I have a dewalt wet tile saw dw2400, I’m getting sometimes different sound on motor, and sometimes it smells, like over doing a drill , I’ve stripped it down last night and noticed the field has ware rubbing type mark on inside, so had the armature, I’m thinking bearings, but obviously can’t tell as they seem ok smooth enough, any ideas please , don’t want to try repairing in it if need new field and armature

Name changed to Metabo HPT in 2018. Didn't think much of Hitachi, quality same as the Craftsman crap. Had to return the cordless Hitachi drill, spins way too fast but no torque. Maybe they improved it by now.

Hi Dean. What are you using to clean all the parts if not a secret. I've tried with a few degreesers and brake cleaner but nothing seems to get all the old grease out. Thanks
