I leant my buddy my Dremel tool and he used for a few days. He then returned my Dremel and bought me a new one saying he broke mine. I replaced the brushes and told him he could keep the new Dremel. Then shared your channel to show him how to change the brushes on brushed motors. 👍🤪👍 The amount of knowledge here is incredible.
These long format videos are a joy to watch. However, I understand the UA-cam algorithm tends to favor videos with around 10 minute runtimes. Do whatever format is most enjoyable for you to make or to help your channel grow, I will still watch.
now your asmr videos are the business , forget the tarts , whispering and tapping the mic , your long format videos are both educational and enjoyable 🤣🤣 👍👍👍
I just found your channel. I love that you repair simple things I've always thought that saving the world with paper straws doesn't make sense when we toss out electrical and replace
Good point. I buying anything new as we still use cradle to grave manufacturing, when we should be doing cradle to cradle by now. Until we do, nothing else we do will matter.
@@deandohertygreaser Sadly, I'll have to disagree with you there. Cradle -> cradle (ie 1 human adult generation of ~10-15yrs) /power tool/ manufacturing makes little sense long-term, as the experience gained by their users will have to be constantly adjusted ('relearned') as new tool forms appear (cf mobile phones & their constantly-changing UI/OS with new generations). Experience with a tool => experience with the job, so changing even minor things just so the marketers/manufacturers gain more sales results in a net loss of work hours (& hence experience gain) as the workers get used to the new quirks & features.. even if those features are useful (once again, cf IT companies eg Microsoft or Apple changing their UI with every other upgrade; likewise with mobile phone companies eg Nokia or Samsung) Cradle -> grave (ie ~50 - 70+yrs) OTOH means good tools (& therefore their manufacturers & tool quality) will continue despite occasional blips in manufacturing/supply etc due to eg world economics. This also benefits the individual, who can know that their maybe initially expensive purchase will last & be relatively easy to repair if it fails, as opposed to simply binning & buying a replacement (cf eg more 'modern' Bosch green & blue variants from the ~90s to this day: greens are marketed as 'professional' while blue are the true pro (longer-lasting) tool IME)
Dean your an Ace!!! Fast, efficient, and your a walking talking power tool encyclopedia... These videos are addicting. I'm learning so much. Thanks for all the awesome content
i prefer the full days worth of work as you get to see what tools break more often than others and its very helpful when looking out to buy which tools
That's amazing bro. The fact that people would throw these machines in the trash at the slightest chance of them breaking is mind boggling. I hate the trash-em-dont-repair-em mentality society
They are overpriced and noticed a couple of my mates with the newer tools having problems sooner than expected with the Makita stuff so I stick to black and decker cheep enough to buy and replace and ide say better for the DIY user becouse the outlay for Makita or similar just isn't worth it
Yeah, I'm liking the longer vids too. Just amazed with you knowledge & watching all your many various repairs. If thats just one days work, it looks like you have your hands full over there at that place. Tools just scattered everywhere in the backroom! I've always been fascinated at taking things apart...started that as a young lad. But i never always got everything back together perfectly back then!😅🤔 I'm quite a bit older now with all my own tools(DeWalt 20v mostly) so thanks to you, if & when one of them breaks, I'll be able to disassemble it, fix problem, & put back together for another day of work!! I've tackled a pneumatic nail gun or two, just plunger o-rings &\or a trigger 'switch'. Thanks for your time & all you do Dean, from 🇺🇸. 👍👌🔌🔋⚡⚠️🛠️🔩🔧👨🔧🍻
I just recently came across your channel and I have to say I have been watching your repair videos for about 2 days non stop now. I find them really educational. As a person that takes apart a lot of stuff (ever since I was a little boy) I learn a lot about how these tools are put together. I have fixed a few myself and your videos give me huge amount of confidence in tackling future repairs! Thanks a lot and keep it up! P.S It is a real shame that greedy manufacturers just don't give you a chance to repair and just scrap perfectly good tools.
hi Dean your channel and videos are simply fantastic to watch and how easy you make it all look and i understand this took many years to perfect! there is a peaceful aspect to your videos for tool guys and gals to chill and watch just wanted to say thanks for the content and please keep it up bud! on a side note see the amount of knackered tools i threw away before finding your channel is infuriating lol
I love how you fix all these tools one handed 😂. Your camera work is seriously steady with the other hand considering what you are doing. Do invest in a head or chest rig for your camera though to give yourself an easier quicker life brother. I respect your work sir. Thank you for taking the time to share it with us. Have a good day
Why don't you drill a small hole in the Makita's switches and hit them with contact cleaner. That should work and get those switches working again. Love the channel.
I have tried that several. Times. Iv smashed the last few open to see why the cleaner didn't work. Turned out the linear pot wiper is a lot smaller inside the makitas. And the simply wear out. One or 2 of the 4 wiper legs snap of and that's why they don't run correctly.
Put some silicon on the cables, and general rubber items. I use Valsir o-ring silicone. I know it's supposed to be used for water applications but I've used it on anything with proper results.
Love the video, god knows why I watched it but it’s addictive, it might come in handy if I ever need to repair a belt sander, love the way you know exactly what needs sorting
Got loads of Metabo cordless tools, sure did have not looked into repair shops around the country, and just happens theres only one registered metabo service and its miles away from me.Lately one of the drills started cutting out when drilling or screwing something in,just stops and beeps the sound wont turn on and now i can just throw it away since the 3 guys i took it to for repair could not fix it.Great content tho on these repairs, wish there were more people round the world like you
@@verifiedduncepackcrew5586 Not if u are living in Bosnia.Took it to the first place, waited a week guy called and said it was fixed.Took it to work the next day did like 50 screws and it had same issues.Took it to 2nd place they said it's probably housing but couldn't get the parts.3rd guy took it for repair diagnosed it as housing had damaged some wires should need new housing and wiring work but he couldn't get parts in a month. So now just have it as spare parts tool for the other drill
Really really great ‘can do’that you share to keep this great kit sample running andnot binned . You are an absolute rarity . Thank you for the insights !
Your skill set is unbelievable. Very impressive. I’d love to spend a day trying to skim off your wisdom. Ever need an intern or assistant for a week???! I’m your guy!
Brilliant so glad i got this recomended in my feed ,massive car boot near me (smithfield market msnchester) always has loads of these type of tools that mostly sre untested and often wondered whethe i should plunge and buy some just to test the water on whether to try repsiring as an hobby
Ran into this.. first time seeing one of your vids. This multi repair video is great.. better than most TV shows I'm watching lately and I'm learning :). Thanks! Very entertaining/interesting
This video reminds of me being young, dismantling toy cars, seeing how they function and put them back togheter but still this is another level 😀 In short terms this is what defines a man: tools and cars. Like and sub from me 👍
Hello - thank you a lot for this higly quality content. I wish, I could do it also so well as you - but I think by looking your video - you repaired thousends of it before - right? Tanks

That is a good buddy. Atleast he tried to replace it.

Sir, you are a genius! I could watch you repair these power tools all day. Well done.
Wow, thanks!

That's funny you say that, all the mechanic videos I watch, anything under 10 to 15 minutes I just won't watch
I prefer watching the longer videos, i do try to remember the fixes he does but i have the memory of a goldfish

Im amazed by your stockpile of spare parts.
I liked it today. It's a good thing to have a mix of short and long as sometimes I don't have time to take in a full boat video. Thanks again!
Very true!
Yes to the longer video 👍🏴
Appreciate your work. I learnt a lot today which keeps tools from becoming scrap.
These long videos are great - a good range of tools being worked on.

Great video Dean
The old Makita and Milwaukee, we used to use those, in an industrial setting and a Grinders corded 7 in and worked for years !
Fantastic! Being a mender myself, I love seeing work like this, and so quick too. Takes me hours to do a tool usually.
Love your videos. Short or long. Cool how fast you go thru these. Really know what your doing. Great Job.

Grand job as always Dean and thanks for giving us the opportunity of watching a master at work.
You are a master repairman! Never used a multi tester ever! All just by instinct!
I would love to know how you know so much about tools
Excellent vid.
Love the video, god knows why I watched it but it’s addictive, it might come in handy if I ever need to repair a belt sander, love the way you know exactly what needs sorting
After close to 10 years of repairs don't get my hands on a floor sander nice one
Hello, thanks for sharing your content. Love the videos!

Killeen Hardware in Armagh do a big amount of Metabo, unsure if they'd take your machine if not purchased from them though
Your telling me 3 different places couldn't fix a drill ? By far the easiest thing to repair in those kinda shops is a drill.
