I sat in the menu and listened to this track on a loop when I first heard it. That first minute and a half may be the standout piece of music from an already loaded score.
So happy they brought the original Forgotten City theme back, even if in a different context. They even made the beginning part of it sound very much like the original. The incorporation of the clock ticking makes it even more foreboding.
The use of the clock sounds is so foreboding, at this point of the story it’s pretty much that time is running out for the planet, and yes, for Aerith, too
So obsessed with this theme in particular. I rarely ever experience the sensation of goosebumps, but this track does it every single time. Feeling this one with my soul
Great cooking recipe for french toast! I love that this has great flavor, low sugar, and is, indeed, not City of the Ancients. There's a certain scene that does not exist of Sephiroth floating over the Forgotten Capital. In this scene I'm making up, a certain rendition of Those Chosen by the Planet plays. If you ever find a way to include it in your next cooking recipe video, it would be greatly appreciated!
this theme is fantastic. the clock sounds + sephiroth’s theme seriously induces some panic in-game for me. imo it fully encapsulates the gravity of the situation
Idc what anyone says. The ending of Rebirth was one of the most epic experiences I’ve ever had with a video game. Stop applying your expectations to this trilogy. The og is there whenever you want it. This is something new, just sit back and enjoy the ride.
Well the weird complaint that I heard was that Rebirth and Remake was easy because you just sit their and beat on the boss and it will occasionally throw damage and abilities out at you. My first thought of that was, "Um but isn't that what you pretty much do in the original FF7?" You had some strategizing, to an extent, but really you are just fighting stationary enemies or bosses and just planning out what spells and abilities you want to use. Not sure why the first nitpick is that you are fighting enemies that are damage sponges as if the original FF7 wasn't already that.
Out of so many things they could write something new out of they choose some fate and multiverse trope that always gotta be confusing and create open interpretation on what's real or not. One minute stuff is happening the next is Sephiroth yapping about fate and the worlds intertwining a whole load of nothingness. The cutscenes were cool and I was in the mood for an emotional Cloud then they had to ruin the mood with the whole different worlds and different emotions.
I'm not gonna lie i had to really look for this. I've had it stuck in my brain for weeks. it's so... foreboding, i paused the game and let it loop when i first heard it sends a chill through my spine
I like how Cloud's party version of this track at this point in the game is much more dark with the Forgotten City theme playing and has a bit of Sephiroth's theme lingering to represent Cloud's current mental state but Aerith's party version is much more peaceful and kinda eerie to represent how she's more intune with the Cetra (this being their temple after all). Also the fact that with Cloud party, there are some points where the party has to run as the temple is clearly trying to disrupt them from getting further in the temple while with Aerith, she's straight up controlling a small portion of the lifestream to make way and get through.
I wish the forgotten capital was peaceful like in the og like going straight into battle and not being able to walk around in there is kinda sad but makes sense 😔
I was so out of my element when this played. I just felt fearful and tense due to the inevitable outcome that I was going to be at. Haven’t felt like that since the water divine beast in Breath of the Wild.
I was in a call with my friend when this played, and i had to equip barret with materia. "Alright lets go equip bar-" i hear this. I froze looking at my monitor for a seconds then the ticking starts playing. God i love this game
@@Luke9er9erI mean yeah we'll probably be back here since we didn't get to explore it and it's also important to the story later on but the music won't have the same effect
Makes sense it doesn't because this has sorta been repurposed as Sephiroth's theme (hence why Those Chosen by the Planet also plays) and is here to kinda symbolize Cloud's about to mcfreaking lose it The city's theme is now Promised Land from AC, which... makes sense
I think the advent children music was more fitting for forgotten capital in rebirth tbh, it worked in ff7 when it was empty and quiet. When we come back in part 3 they'll probably use the song.
this theme feels out of place, would've made more sense walking to aerith praying if they put it anywhere. I think they put it here simply because they made the other song for the forgotten city bit instead and thought it'd still work in temple, and to those not having played the og it does, but it feels out of place knowing where it's heard in the og.
I wish we could walk in forgotten capital like the og cause that place is just beautiful to be in... This theme really is good and honestly I feel the same way but it still is sick cause it gives us a rushy feel, like we can't waste time in the temple in a way
If only this song was actually in the game like all the others they cut. So sad we can't even explore the city and that Cid and Vincent are useless in this game and don't even help the party. They ruined everything.
Dog shit theme. FF7 Rebirth team did not understand what made the original so special. This is just a generic RPG wearing an FF7 skin mask. I'm glad it got such low sales. Hopefully the third one fails as well.
It’s actually great , I guess you’re entitled to your Dog Shit opinion though. All tracks in this game were great, not everything has to be a carbon copy.
@@AaronTV1 That's right. I am. Sorry, I didn't mean to trigger your fragility. Continue on with your simping for this failed cash grab. I hope the anime tiddies were enough to distract you from all the glaring flaws.

Same for me, it was scary in a good way
dont you dare. dont you dare use clock sound effects to reference '7 Seconds till the end', thats just evil.
Time enough for you, perhaps
But what will you do with it? Let's see.

I just reached the temple of the ancient today. I swear I died when this theme startet playing. This is so incredible great!
1.4x speed and I'm back in 1997 with one of the most haunting tracks in this game.
Yeah, this is a "You Can Hear The Cry Of The Planet" alternate version
You mean, "Listen to the Cries of the Planet."
The og theme is called You can hear the cry of the planet.
@@Arngrim. Is it though? ua-cam.com/video/jwsNewKWNQs/v-deo.htmlsi=rLRL3cF0Gomtbf45
One of the best tracks
Sephiroth's theme randomly playing is not a good sign.
2:14
Sephiroth’s theme playing in general isn’t a good thing, even though it’s a bop
It's because Sephiroth's influence is affecting Cloud a lot in this dungeon. god i love the leitmotifs
My most favorite song in the og game, god I love it.

Feels much more epic this time around. I typically dread coming here because I hate the walking back and forth in the OG
1:38 fire🔥🔥
I love the use of the clock here, because almost everyone at this point knows aerith , and the planet, are on borrowed time
I wish it played in the city too
Same here. I assumed this version of the song was just teasing us for the full reveal when we reached the Capital. Sadly...nope.
We’ll go back in part 3, hopefully.

Aerith's death foreshadowed by Clock's ticking and Synth music?
It's a canon event, a FF7 canon event...
My god. Incredible.
So Aerith Is There But Somehow She's Somewhere Else And I Can Think She Is Alot Deeper In The Forgotten Capital
I believe the OG track name was "You Can Hear the Cry of the Planet."
