Remember, for the most part everyone just had to be still in the 2g sections so at most. Only a small amount if interpolation in the video would be needed, if any..
Nicely done. Especially the ladies who performed as flight attendants. They seemed almost at ease with dancing in zero-g. What background prepared them for this? Figure skating is my best guess.
@@juliusbernotas I don't know about first girl, but Nastya have some skils with Ballet, Acrobatisc, Gymnastics. She is international class master of Gymnastics. She's incredible girl. Look here: nastka_bu at instagram.
Okay but the cuts. They're so fucking seamless. How? I caught the only when the yellow suitcase moved into the foreground, but otherwise the video looks like it's one continuous shot.
I am wondering the same thing. Curious to know how that worked. That's the only one part that confuses me right now. It'd be hard to cut/stitch frames on the parts where they had a ton of balls rolling around. Unless they just fast forwarded those idle parts which I couldn't tell.
+spaceye The only one I missed is the Damian solo, which is two segments, and I didn't see the cut in the middle. (which is obvious now, he's standing, holding on to the two seatbacks). The reason the balls look right is because at the end of each scene, the balls are already on the ground. They just stay in their place.
I knew the video was impressive but after watching the behind the scenes videos I can honesty say that the gravity of the impressiveness has doubled ... but really, amazing work!
Wow, the Russians and the US Band OK GO have created something miraculous here, in spite of antagonism, prejudices and political difficulties. The price and the music made this possible - we should learn from it !!!!
Norbert Mahler that is because most people in most countries want nothing but peace and happiness for people. It is usually just the government's and those sheeple enough to follow the government that think that we should all be constantly fighting.
The leanings of a countries government has nothing to do with the leanings of it's people. The people of Russia and the USA don't actually have many problems with each other.
This is incredible. I thought they had sped up the footage just to get rid of the loose, drifty effect, but it seems like it was initially for the pacing of the song. All of this is really fascinating.
Their music is pretty good, but even if you don't care for it, you can't deny the skill and talent to do all of this! From the band to the crew, absolutely amazing! Very well done!! 21st century 'Peter Gabriel'-level video achievement!
This band does not receive enough attention. Their music is great, and their music videos are by far the coolest things I have ever seen. I have so much respect for you OK GO.
Massively impressive! You guys really reached new heights with this one! Fantastic filmography. Great job to the director, film crew, and flight crew. You guys take playing music to a whole other world. Can't wait to see what you make next, sound or video wise. Enjoy the spotlight, you've earned it.
That makes sense! I was wondering how they got so much weightless time and yet only a second or two every once in awhile with obvious gravity. It made no sense knowing the sine-wave-like path the Vomit Comets take.
You are gorgeous!!!! Thanks a lot for your FANTASTIC art!!!! You are more than music... You are more than videos... You are truly Amazing Dreamers!!! ...And hello from Russia with love ))))
I didn't even realize it was cut. Masterful editing. I just watched it a second and third time and still had a pretty tough time finding the cuts. It really is a 10/10 editing and choreography job.
@@scottwillis5434 yeah, it’s called bulimia. I had wonder about how they got around issues with vomiting. I know many people react with nausea during trick flying. I wonder why the video crew rejected the medication? I’d be afraid I’d vomit and ruin the scenes or I’d get floating barf on the equipment. How could you do your job while holding a bag to your face? I don’t think anyone ate much ahead of time at any rate. That was some super dedication in pursuit of a creative vision. Bravo!!!
Huge amount of kudos to everyone involved. Amazing project, problem solving, creative thinking and of course: amazing result! Thanks for sharing all the info. cheers!
Everything on the clip was purely amazing. I congratulate the crew and the band members! Keep on being creative as always. You're a new face of music guys!

Just watched the actual video last night, and it was amazing. I had a ton of questions, and this video satisfied all of them. Amazing work, and dedication to everyone that made this work. Must have been a logistical, and safety nightmare, in planning, training, choreography, placement...and the beautiful chaos, that just worked out!
I have a 10 and 8 yr old and just introduced a video of yours the other day. They’ve been doing nothing but watching and listening to you guys ever since. Your vision and execution is unmatched.
I was thinking for a bit while watching the video. Seeing this actually makes a lot of sense, and it somewhat explained why the two flight attendants were zooming about for a few seconds XD
Thank you for sharing this OK GO - you're past videos are awesome and this one is mesmerizingly-amazballs !!! I was at the gymn working out and this came on the screen - I stopped my bench press and just watched like a 5 year old with a huge smile on my face, laughing with joy - from my heart to yours - Thank you! - John Alton SAG-Aftra
Thank you OK Go for all these fantastic videos so far. Each one is absolutely amazing. Please continue! @Firepants20: I totally agree. Please NFL, make OK Go the next Superbowl Halftime act!
You folks are creative geniuses! Can't imagine the preparation it took to execute this so brilliantly! You have set a damn high bar for music video production.
This is just great filmmaking, the way the action builds from order to chaos, then resolve back to order. It reminds me in a weird way of the “Pink Elephants on Parade” segment from “Dumbo”, but that you did it all in camera is just remarkable.
I've said this once and I'll say it again: Ok Go would be the perfect band for an awesome Superbowl Halftime show.
+Firepants20 They did a music video for a halftime show for their Needing/Getting song.
CombatWars
Yeah I loved that one.
agreed!
Firepants20 ye
Nope. They make great videos. But their music is very mediocre at best. If it wasn’t for their music videos, they would not still be around.
Whoever edited the video is true champ. Noticing cuts is almost impossible even when you know when to expect them.
IKR. Watch the original video again. You can just barely find the cuts.
@@levirichardson8505 and where the cuts were seem completely intentional to match the music
I kept my eyes on the seatbelts after they got out of the seats. They were the best way to tell when the video was cut.
Exactly!!
Remember, for the most part everyone just had to be still in the 2g sections so at most. Only a small amount if interpolation in the video would be needed, if any..
Even after watching this, I still can't imagine all the logistics that went into creating this video.
part of me wants to see bloopers but... the other part of me can't stop thinking about all the terrifying things that could have happened.
Ikr, 21 flights!
I'm thinking the cost must've been astronomical as well.
It would great to see the unedited, 45-minute version!!
It would also probably be very boring.

so much respect for this band!
They are not just singers also very smart and creative and try very hard.
I want to say Dr. OK GO
The notes said by the audio guy in Russian in the bg from 4:33:
"Run... Five seconds... Ten seconds... Twenty seconds, finishing!"
MyO the HedgeFox Thanks for the translation, I was wondering what he was saying
Yeaaahhhh🖤
Thank you Fox from the past.
You're very much welcome, everyone. =)
OK Go’s videos are unparalleled. So many videos use quick cuts and just dancing and lights. The way they go 100% every time is admirable.
the cut is so smooth
