I bought this exact barrel a month ago for my latest build. That hanging burr on the gas port must come standard. I had the exact same hanger on mine! Hand fed a drill tip through to clean out the hole and removed the burr from the inside using a long, steel rod to "knock it off". So annoying!

Since I have that borescope, I just moved it into position then got some very narrow tweezers to reach down in there and pull it out. I rash some patches through it, afterwards, just to try to make sure I got everything. It did the trick!
If it weren't for the fact that it's been one of my best shooting barrels, I'd be a lot more angry about it.

Mine had the exact same hanging burr.
The leade in mine was also so tight that I couldn’t extract loaded ammo without the bullet sticking and dumping powder into action.

I had a x calibur barrel w a nasty looking gas port that was half on a land and groove. It randomly destabilized the jackets on the 108gn eldm. You could see strips of jacket hanging on the land by the gas port. They were coming apart before 100yds randomly w the 1:7 barrel. They sent me a new one that was perfect .29in capable.

Jeesh.... looks like a big burr out of the gas port. I hate "premium" companies putting out jank products without quality inspections/assurances. Good luck with it. I couldn't get an Odin barrel or a ballistic advantage barrel (it's crap) to work with the 6ARC

      Thank god for borescopes!
On the bright side, I was able to get the burr our with some tweezers; easy enough fix. But, a lot of the barrels I've ordered have had similar issues. The biggest offender was my McGowen Precision 6 ARC barrel, which had burrs around the crown... twice! ( ua-cam.com/video/gqPXsNC5I2A/v-deo.html ). Now, in defense of Wilson Combat, this barrel has shot the best groups yet with 6mm ARC - and I've tested a Proof Research barrel, too. (Shooting 1/3 MOA w/ Wilson Combat: ua-cam.com/video/F47E6CvYB-0/v-deo.html )

Would you recommend this barrel over ballistic advantage? Or Rosco?

      Tough question!
Well, first, I do not have any experience with Rosco barrels. I know there are some people that get them as their affordable go-to for their 5.56 platforms. I have heard that their Purebred line is pretty good!
I did purchase a BA barrel in .223 Wylde, and the build quality was good, and the performance was acceptable. It wasn't fantastic.
They (all three) are all button-rifled barrels striving to hit a certain price-point - which is a kind way of saying they're not super-premium barrels you'd try to bring to a match. I feel the best answer is the most generic one - pick one that fits your price-point best, and also your use-case scenario, and roll with it.
Case in point, this "Tactical Hunter" barrel is a medium-profile with fluting, and it has a recessed crown. It was meant for light-weight handling while you bring it along with you in the woods. I can certainly bring it out to the range, it's a very accurate barrel, but I do have to keep shooting strings short. That's fine, it's 6mm ARC, and I don't do rapid- or sustained-fire anyway.
I realize all of this must sound like a long winded answer that's a cop-out... but if it's something I've learned in all my barrel testing, it's that buying a barrel really is like gambling - I have a video where I bought a Proof Research barrel ( ua-cam.com/video/MzlOLEFdKkM/v-deo.html ) so this is a premium cut-rifle barrel, and pitted it again my standard Shaw Custom barrel, which is another "generic" button-rifled style barrel that's affordable. The Shaw Custom barrel was just under half the cost of the Proof Research barrel, but it generally grouped better.

@@upnorthreloading2214 thank you, and I did watch that video as well. And I’m fair believer of buy once, cry once but like you said buying a barrel is a gamble specially seeing the video of inside the barrels leaves you thinking like now which one barrel do I go with. I appreciate the quick response.
