First off, thanks for the videos, they were very helpful to me. I swamped my 2014 rancher and needed to do a complete overhaul. I don't have a repair manual and just went by this video for reference when reassembling. ONE THING, this should be edited in the video; the gear indicator switch has to go in a certain way. BE SURE TO MARK THE SWITCH WHEN REMOVING BACK COVER. mine is now upside-down so it will only start if I hold the shifter hallway between 4th and 5th gears. other than that, videos were spot on
Great video, I rebuild my engine it runs great , I have one problem my nutrial light not coming on in the right shift position, but I pull up a couple gears the light will come on and bike will start
My shift shaft pulled out a bit from the rear side of the crank cover. Now it doesn’t want to push back in. Is there something wrong in the front side?
QUESTION! I have a 1995 Honda 400 fourtrax apart. When I pulled the engine apart, I had a bushing fall off. The bushing has a shoulder on it but it seems you can flip it both ways. What way does it go?? The shaft is the shaft below the reverse gear.
Is this pretty much the same for a 2004 450 foreman? Have one I bought tore completly apart and need to rebuild. Cases are split and every individual piece of the engine is new please reply
I've rebuilt my motor top to bottom using these series of videos and they are awesome. only one problem I have ran into. once all back together I cab get trans to go into reverse out of neutral but will not go up any gears. any idea what I might have done wrong? I know it's a long shot but anything could help.
Did you ever get this figured out? I just did my 420 and now all the way down is 4th gear and then 5th, reverse, neutral, and all the way up is 1st. I feel like the gears in the actual trans are working properly but its obviously out of wack somewhere
+Joe Griffin this 4-wheeler actually had a rod knocking so crankshaft was necessary. If you're just totally locked up you may just need a top-end. You might get out late

the switch on the inside has an capital N for neutral wich has to align with the longer side of the roll pin

Correct me if I’m wrong,gear position sensor was put n 180 off.When you crunk motor up.It didn’t indicate it was n Neutral did it?

Pull rear cover off, turn gear position sensor. Long tooth towards the “N”

Where did you get that timing hole cap . I stripped my stock one
