Desert riding is the best, and the rain makes the dirt even better! Desert riding is what we did most in Arizona, and we even have some good desert riding in eastern Washington. In Arizona, we rode mx bikes with mx-valved suspension in the desert. It worked well with the speed you often ride out in the desert.
Robert is a FAST desert rider, I rode with him and his usual group a few times when I lived in Vegas and he was always leading the way. This was before he started his tour company, which seems to be doing very well. Awesome stuff and great footage, I miss the desert!
3 dirt bikes in the back and 3 guys in the front of a 69 Datsun pickup. Got pulled over on Cajon pass for going only 35 miles an hour. Great memories! 🤗
Kick ass video. Would love to do that some day. Reminds me little of our desert 100 race up here in Wa. But was canceled this year like everything else. Keep up the great content! Crf250rx looks awesome
Jumping Cholla cactus, yucca and joshua trees. Everything wants to poke ya! Tweezers are always in the bar bag. Try the LA/B2V run in November. 260-280 miles a day for 2 days. Los Angeles to Barstow 2 Vegas.
Brandon B it’s changed so much out their since the 80’s. - the dry lake is now a riding park . It used to be where you could do anything and no one with mess with you . We used to shoot propane bottles in a fire pit .
@@alt3523 LOL yeah those days are gone. Now we have a lot of people showing up and partying in Honda valley and leaving their trash. They stopped handing tickets out for riding there.
Awesome! Just found this. Great idea! We're in Oregon and always wanting to find somewhere to ride during winter. We have a group of 7 firefighters and this would be a perfect winter destination trip. Thanks for sharing. I'm adding 220 to my favorites now
@@JustBraap He started riding Searchlight/Laughlin about three years ago virtually every weekend and then moved down there about a year ago because of his Slingshot rental business in addition to his dirt bike tour business. Driving three hours round trip every weekend is a bit much for me. Still ride with him once in a while but not like it used to be. No drama going on and still great friends... just logistics.
Im from NM... The desert guys ive been riding with are insane... and my body is so soar rn lol. And this is like 3-4 hour 10-20 mile rides. I couldnt imagine 100.
You should com down the four corners a lot of desert and trail riding all mix into one haha one minute you will be in Colorado/Utah doing trails then one minute you will be in Utah,Arizona and New Mexico hitting desert stuff 🙂😃
Anyone who criticizes desert riding is trippin'. While most parts of the country are dealing with freezing temps or snow we're riding. I'd rather be riding my bike than staring at it waiting for the snow to melt. Nov- Apr is the dez; May - Oct. is national forests.
Looks like most guys have an exhaust system but for that honda and maybe another one that doesnt, do you guys or they ever catch flak for not having a spark arrestor? I just bought a 2020 YZ250F that I want to take on trails alot as well as the track. Cant quite afford a new exhaust quite yet and also dont really want to modify the stock exhaust for a spark arrestor. But also dont want the ticket of not having one. Thought?
That looks fun. Do they rent bikes down there? I'm not sure I'd want to drag my XR200r 1200 miles south and then trust it out there. Would like to buzz around on a Honda or Yamaha 250 though. :)
Depends if you have a dual sport and want to keep dot approved tires but typically Hard tires for the rocks and hard packed terrain- Sedona mx 907hp is a decent affordable rear
@@dirtbiketv1 Exactly! I explore a lot in the Mojave. I see so much destruction from illegal dirt biking: riding in designated wilderness areas, posted "keep out areas", etc. There has been so much land set aside for off-roading, but as usual, many people choose not to respect the beauty of the desert, do not think of future generations' enjoyment. Sounds like from your comments, you are part of this group.
Those trails look more boring than the quadtard trails I take to get to my single track. You’ve gotta ride some B.C/Alberta Rocky Mountian and foothills single track.

Thank you so much for this video! I have been looking for a tour service like this. Can't wait to conquer Mojave soon!
Glad it was helpful!

Cool ride! Thanks for the tip on 220 Tours. Will have to hit them up next winter. That looked like a great day.
You should visit central Oregon - hundreds of miles of high desert riding just outside of Bend, OR.
In the Middle East we used to call it the MMFD. Miles and Miles of F.....n Desert

Peter Egger Ahh gotcha, good to know. 👍🏻
rain is perfect for the dez, no better time to ride than after the rain......have to watch out for washouts on trails
Wow, in our big single track areas(tight, technical Southern New England) a full day out 6-7 hours only gets us ~50 miles ... 🙄
Well communicated 🤜
Nice video as always Jay... You should consider fitting Steg Pegs to take some pressure off your arms on the longer rides especially.
Where is it?
So sic, very similar to Johnson Valley Recreation Area/BLM and USFS land.
It also looks like west Texas.

Same
Fun riding!
Nice video! I just dropped a video dirt biking in Joshua Tree! The desert is such a sick place to ride!
Sweet video! I think I’ll stick to my technical single track.
Why not do it all?
🤘🤘
Jay... Do a test on a STIC metering block
OK - but most of our riding is tight trails and all I hear is better for more wide open and our 300s stick to the tight stuff.
i live in Yuma AZ a lot to ride come on out
What camera were you using for the ride shots?
Still shots and video is my iPhone 11 plus -- Go pro 7 on the action- held with Dango Mount
This was by Tipton?
You need to come to Michigan. The best single track in the world.
Been the UP 20 years ago and I think one the best places to ride ever. Amazing stuff.
Super fun! How do we join you guys on these rides? I’m in So Cal and need some riding buddies.
Welcome aboard! need rain
Dirt Bike TV sure do! Almost time to ride.

Get one save the sport save your hearing.
@@MichiganManiak Sound has nothing to do with it. A spark arrestor only quiets an exhaust by 2db. Wont even notice a sound difference.
All depends on where your riding. In the Dez not usually checked. If in mountain areas for sure need one
@@dirtbiketv1 Thanks for the reply. Pretty much what I was thinking have heard from others
All of our bikes have spark arrestors and we encourage our guests to have one as part of our rides.
...if that was all i had prolly wouldnt ride...lmao nice upload
Why is it so hard for people to put the location of these rides in the description?

yes -- contact them- info in the description
In your opinion for this terrain what are the best tires, brand & spec?
I am not the best for input on best of all brands for the Dez. I only run AT81 Dunlop.
What model Ogio backpack did you use and recommend?
ogiopowersports.com/collections/hydration/products/copy-of-rev-rss-laptop-backpack
I like this one since its so large and it fits so well.
Tipton!?!? That's in my backyard. Tipton is AG land NOT desert. Looks hella fun out there.
It’s not Tipton it’s Nipton which is the Ca & Nv state line in the middle of the desert
hi me first here nice vids
Sir What 250 Honda were you riding?
2020 CRF250RX
Any preference here on the ktm 350 xcf or crf 250 rx?
I would say 350XCF sine useful in such a wide range of terrain
What tires do you recommend for desert?
Depends if you have a dual sport and want to keep dot approved tires but typically Hard tires for the rocks and hard packed terrain- Sedona mx 907hp is a decent affordable rear
thats robert church with 220 tours
This is awesome!
You need to be more nicer to the slower guys.
I am the slower guy
What trail is this?
Cal-nev-ari area
So you can ride anywhere out there, not required to be on trails?
pretty much :-)

Desert Bighorn Sheep or Aldads maybe what your talking about
Guess everyone has there own opinion, live in So cal for almost 20 years now, you can keep that bland boring desert
Nothing like racing across terrain you've never seen before. Way better than lap after lap after lap around the same boring motocross track
