I'm having flashbacks to a couple years ago lol. Looking forward to seeing reviews of the drz4s and 390 adv R. I can say that as a klx300 owner it's a great bike for the price and the suspension for me was perfect. Having good suspension from the factory is a big big deal. Sold the klx as it just didn't quite have enough power for me. I am not a novice rider so for others it will be fine. I am looking forward to the drz for this reason.
With the right (yet cheap) mods klx300 is 30+hp from the wheel (23hp stock). Mine is 32hp now! The key part is JDM ECU from klx250 which has good ignition timing and not limited by new emissions restrictions..
KLX is superior to the CRF, had both for extensive time on and off-road. With that said the drz4s will outsell both quickly and easily if they don’t bump up the power
The point of them riding these stock was to see how the bikes would do. Pretty awesome considering both the terrain and the competition and dedicated enduros they were up against and finished in the top ten. Fixing the suspension was not part of their plan. If it was their test purpose would have been pointless.
The problem is shocks are expensive compared to foot pegs.
And the low end power is identical if you do the throttle plate delete on the klx.

@d1aman I had mine with the bdsb ecu flash and it made a good amount of difference but just not enough to keep me happy.
Are you talking about the new DRZ with fuel injection? Should be good.
@toddsmith8608 yup.
Thanks for the video!!!

Isn't this video a repost?
The last one was more of a recap of the big bear run, this is more focused on how the bikes perform comparatively
Next time add in the new Rieju Aventura 307 Rally.
Now that was a test....
The suspension is horrible on both Race Tech $250 solves problem.
and yet they finished top ten overall on stock suspension....
