Lalo killed his look-alike in the first episode guys. His wife thanked Lalo for the *extensive dental care* for her husband. Then Lalo told him to shave and leave the mustache so he could drop the body. Killed the wife too, because he wants to be belived dead.
Holy shit didn't realize it till now 😂
oh lol i just commented the same thing!
I completely missed that
Ahhh makes sense. I thought he looked like Lalo after he shaved too. Didn’t put it all together.
Bro they saw two eps in one sit .
FYI: Gus doesn't give a shit about Nacho's dad. Mike pocketed the father's ID card to keep him off the Cartel's radar. Mike is the one watching out for Nacho's dad. Not Gus.
I love how in seasons 1-4 everyone was like "there's no way Kim is still around in Breaking Bad because she'd hate Jimmy as Saul Goodman" and now here we are and Jimmy is off in the corner cringing at how ruthless she is
And they made that transition make sense!!! She went from someone we were so worried about to someone that makes us deeply unnerved and I just love the show for that. And for Rhea Seahorn for pulling off the change believably.
Walt & Kim are the seemingly reluctant criminals teaming up with criminals who have been black sheep their whole lives: Jesse & Saul. But Walt & Kim end up going too far for their partners.
I thought i was crazy for realizing how Jimmy was more hesitant to do their scheme in this season. I mean i get it that Howard could be annoying sometimes but don't we all?
rhea seehorn better get her emmy this year.
can't believe she still hasnt been nominated for her role as kim.
Proof that those awards are trash.
@@Ratchet2431 The way Better Call Saul hasn't won a single Emmy
@@Ratchet2431 preach
She got robbed! My biggest fear is that they do to her what they did to Elizabeth Moss. For years, I wanted Moss to win an Emmy for her role in Mad Men, which is another show in GOAT territory. She never got it. She only got it later for Handmaid's Tale. I don't want the same thing to happen to Kim. I don't want her to win for a lesser show. She needs to win for this!
This show gets shafted every time out. Bob Odenkirk hasn't won an Emmy for this show either. I do believe Johnathan Banks may have won for his role.
Nacho noticed that the air conditioner attached to the back of the boarded-up shack was dripping water, which is what happens when they're running on a hot day. That's how he knew someone was in the shack.
Holy shit, I would’ve never have figured that out in his position, end up captured by the twins lol
Yep, why would an AC unit be running on a seemingly abandoned shack.
In an article where he was interviewed, Peter Gould (showrunner, Co-creator) said that his wife fell prey to a similar tax refund scam. That's where he got the idea for the Kettleman's grift.
29:13 "There are wolves and sheeps in this world my friend, wolves and sheeps. Figure out which one's you're gonna be" Jimmy remembers that from his childhood. Damn
I wonder if "Wolves and Sheep" will be the title of a future episode since all the episodes might have that common theme of "______ and ______".
@@eugger3011 You might be onto something. Looking in advance at the title of the next episode it is called "Rock and Hard Place"
Yeah said by the dude in a flashback who asked Jimmy's dad for money
14:42 if lalo were really dead, hector would be incandescent with fury, ringing his bell with wolf abandon.
Giselle in the final scene is simply
“I am not in danger, Jimmy. I AM THE DANGER! A girl opens her door and gets shot and you’d think that of me? No. I AM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS!”
I don't think that's Giselle anymore, I think that's Kim's darker self coming out for the first time and it's terrifying and badass
Woman
@@jorge666 that’s not Kim. That’s Giselle Badwoman
Cringe
Also, Hector never looks at Gus in the eyes (he only did it in breaking bad when he blew himself up with gus) but he did it here. This plus the handshake was too out of character for him and Gus understood that Lalo couldnt be dead
So Hector fucked up and gave it away...Why would he do that?
Man seeing the kettlemens again was a treat
Nah
You mean the Kettlebells right?
Seeing Mrs Kettleman again was *definitely* a treat. And I'm sure many people treated themselves in her honor, lol.
Kim has gotten brazenly brave after confronting Lalo last season in 5x09. I think "the monster" has been unleashed and this season we will see her spiraling out of control. Not even Jimmy-Saul will be able to talk her down at one point. She is slowly becoming as controlling as Betsy is, and Jimmy somewhat like Craig.
Yeah turns out her descent is as much a point of this series as Jimmy’s. Which is so damn smart. Jimmy never seemed entirely ethical to start with, so it’s not as much of a roller coaster drop AND we already know where his choices lead him in the end. By having Kim who seems so ethical you could call her uptight to start out fall this far and is having no IDEA what happens to her it really adds depth to the premise.
17:47 To be fair, no one on the couch would have made it as high up in a cartel organization as Nacho did
To me, Betsy Kettleman is Marie without the grounding influence Hank had on her. Same twisted perception of reality when it comes to her own mistakes. Marie's actress's name even is Betsy. Not a coincidence in my opinion.
Yes, the creators said in an interview that the character is named in tribute to Betsy Brandt.
Just to point out, Gus has been trying to frame Nacho. I'm surprised how many people missed this
Yes @Pogger White the Normies were losing it they completely missed that what was in the envelope in the switched safe was the “phone number” of the motel Nacho was hiding out at to set him up to be killed and then they were talking about the Cayman Islands? and that they were trying to protect Nacho’s father? What? Mike just secretly took Nacho’s father’s ID. Only Mike cares about Nacho but he still has to follow orders.
The envelope they put in the safe is supposed to look like a bank transfer from a Peruvian gang or something
Yeah he wants him to die in a shootout at the motel and with the house swept up and the girls gone they'd be no proof of the attack being from Gus.
Yes he needs a fall guy, say he was the link to Columbians or something like that. Lalo knows it's him but he needs Elado to think it was Nacho.
This episode is like No Country For Old Men movie.
Truly hope that nacho doesn't end up like Llewelyn :/
I was thinking the exact same thing
Yeah, I feel the same vibe
I'm so glad I wasn't the only one that thought that
Water was dripping from the air conditioner vent attached to the abandoned house, that means that it was on and someone was in there
The dental records matched because Lalo's dentist did the dental work for his body double. The guy's wife was talking to Lalo about it in episode 1. Lalo had been secretely taking care of that man and his wife incase he ever needed to fake his own death. He knows that it isn't fool proof and he will likely be found out eventually, but he just needs to buy himself some time to prepare for his next move: finding Nacho and getting him to rat out Gus so he has a valid reason to kill him without upsetting the Cartel. Gus's plan was for Nacho to be found at the Motel by the Cartel and initiate a shootout so that the Cartel would kill him and never find out he was working with Gus. This is why Tyrus tells him to "Shoot anybody who comes through the door" and why Mike plants the phone number of the hotel in Nacho's safe. Mike took Nacho's father's fake ID out of the safe to protect him from the Cartel.
They were setting Nacho up the whole time. The question is how much is Mike aware of that. The bank statement was a ruse to further frame Nacho and also leave his current location for Bolsa.
For sure Mike knew by that point. He had a resigned look on his face when he put the envelope in the safe. Undoubtedly he knew what was in the envelope.
@@jlilley73 I think so too. I think he was thinking their sign of "respect" would be saving Nacho's father, and that's why he put his foot down with Gus later on.
Mike fully knows what he's doing he sympathises with nacho sure but he ain't risking his life protecting someone who voluntarily was part of "the game"
Name a more iconic duo in this universe. The Twins? Fuck 'em. Walt and Jesse who? I fucking clapped when I realized we were seeing the Kettlemans again
Kim's character development makes me think of a line from The Place Beyond the Pines; "If you ride like lightning, you're gonna crash like thunder."
11:58 That dripping A/C unit in an abandoned building...
7:30 I really do like Craig Kettleman. He is not a bad dude, his wife on the other hand...
Craig would never have stolen that money without her influence. Dude doesn't think like that. Betsy is a nightmare lol.
He is a bad man though. He is the female of the relationship and has no balls haha
Oh, his wife is bad alright...
Nacho: Trying to run over the twins
Hank: Heh First Time? 😁
This one is obvious, but that inflatable lady liberty statue at the Kettlemans is the one Saul has on top of his office in Breaking Bad.
This is just my takeaway, but Kim looking around the Kettleman office while Jimmy was talking to them was her taking mental notes to help Jimmy design his new office that he will get later this season.
I think that Kim wasn't lieing when she said she had an eye on the office for a while now. She probably did keep tabs on them especially if they are being so unsubtle with what they're doing. Seems like her kind of thing to do, especially as she's "slippin'" more and more.
@@Torthrodhel Yeah and she asks Jimmy if he was gonna use "the stick" before they went out there - they all ready had that play on the back burner in case the money didn't work.
Craig is so funny in this episode, how he keeps on being friendly and helping in the middle of being blackmailed and such. Ha. "Oh, dial 9 for an outside line." :P
I cracked up so hard at that. Maybe the only time I’ve been on Betsy’s side when she looked at him like, “WTF are you doing?”
Guys, the old Indian man in the kettlemen's office is the SAME guy Walt buys the truck from in "Ozymandias" --this show has brilliant easter eggs!!!!!!
@@lison1599 yep!
Funny that Suraj mentioned Saul's last scene in Breaking Bad. I think that's the only moment in BB when we get to see the Jimmy we know from BCS, not the Saul Goodman facade he had built up to that point. After he is stripped of all that 'Ts'all good man' fanfare, all is left is Jimmy McGill realizing that his life is ruined. Beautiful and sad scene, especially after watching BCS.
We see Jimmy in every scene where he shows his heart in Breaking Bad.
As what Rhea Seehorn said, the day of reckoning for Kim will arrive. Cant not feel scared and worried for her at the same time.
She also said this season is "devastating". There's a big storm coming that's for sure
The twins fighting Nacho in the truck shows they have a record fighting guys in cars until Hank backed into one of them.
The guy in first episode that he killed, the wife said thank you for helping with teeth problem. so probably then the dentist fixed the dental issue.
Kim believes she is being virtuous. She decided to use the "stick" against the kettlemens when she realised what they were doing and that they didn't think they deserved to be where they are in life. And what she's doing with Howard, she believes its one lawyer for the good of all the clients she'll help when she gets the settlement money.
I think that's just an excuse tbh, just like Walt's excuse that he was making meth to help his family. In the end, they do it because they enjoy the power it gives them. Kim isn't a good person. That's why the old man who wouldn't sell his house last season's words got to her. She's self-righteous at best, and it's becoming more and more clear.
@@JHowesitgoing123 I think Kim just can't handle people calling her shit out, which is why she lashes out. She did it with the old man last season, and she also did it to Schweikart when he was suspecting that she was working with Jimmy behind the scenes to fuck over Mesa Verde.
Also, I think she's just addicted to conning rather than power. If she really cared about gaining power I don't think she would've left HHM and Schweikart & Cokely.
@@eugger3011 She may have been like this for a while. It may be what drew her to Jimmy in the first place. Most of her early concerns were not that he was doing all these bad things, but that he was being reckless. Her confrontation with Lalo may have made her more willing to take risks and revel in the rush of it.
@@eugger3011 I meant the power the con gives her, not necessarily power as in moving up a corporate ladder. So I think we ultimately agree on that. I'm still waiting for the Kim backstory, personally. I think there's more to her history than we know. Just odd little details here and there.
@@JHowesitgoing123 I hope we get another flashback from Kim's childhood like we did last season. The actor that played her was awesome at getting her mannerisms down.
if you go back to the first episode in the house where Lalo asks the guy to shave and keep a mustache and soul patch, lalo asks the man's wife about the dentist fixing his teeth. Hense why the dental records matched lalo's is cause the dentist falsified the records for lalo to have a double to fake his death
Gus tampered with the safe to plant the document telling Bolsa where Nacho was, he called the number that lead to that motel. Its easier to kill off a rat and tie up loose ends. It was Mike that decided to take his dads ID out of the safe and give money to the girls to get away and never come back. He's biding his time and using sleight of hand to undermine Gus without creating conflict of interest and outright betraying his orders. The way characters play each other in BB and BCS is just GOATED.
But Bolsa finding Nacho would mean he would give up Gus and his involvement. Shit makes no sense.
@@woahblackbettybamalam none of them know he has ties to Gus, they still think its other cartels. The dude he sent to spy also has a gun, so he can just shoot him if they want him alive.
@@TheManOnTheStreetOMG They will know when he confesses under torture. Use common sense
@@woahblackbettybamalam He shoots him before he gets taken hurdur
Mike was very protective of Jesse he reminded him of Nacho Varga
23:06 Rana like “I said this” had me geeked 😂
There are 13 ( not 10 ) episodes this season.
7 from April 18 - May 23 ( 5 more ) and then 6 from July 11 - Aug 15.
Kim showing the stick was the best scene!
It’s so painful when they said that “Kim is a good person.” She was not a good person in a first place.
@@nont18411 Kim is a good person though she just doesn't feel emphathy for them as they were running a fraud. Jimmy on the other hand sees himself in them so he feels bad.
@@ayushmanrajawat2828 Still far from being a good person, more like an antihero.
Did you know Saul originally had a normal toilet but one day Kim was like "Don't you think Saul Goodman would shit in something with a little more.... flair?" He ordered a gold toilet the next day.
Saul and Kim are amazing
Kim is Saul. The other dude is just a pathetic loser name Jimmy.
Kim is scary.
She's the Walt of this show, not Saul.
Remember the guy from last week that Lalo got to shave his beard in to a 'tache and soul patch? His wife thanked Lalo for paying for his dentist to take care of his teeth... the last we saw of him Lalo was about to kill him... then mysteriously a burnt corpse matching Lalo down to his dental records was found.
A-ha, I missed that! That's what I love about the show, they're not gonna spell it out for you, if you miss it you just miss it.
I'm the guy who saws into the safe... You guys got to see my acting in action 🙌
Someone has already prob said this but Gus offed Victor because he was made at the Gale crime scene. When the DEA asked Gus to come in for an interview, there is a sketch of Victor's face on the wall b/c he was a suspect. Gus always chooses his moves wisely.
Everyone knows that bro.
Love your reactions - I first saw you guys on RTTV's podcast and realized I had seen a few of your reactions throughout the years. This show is fiyahhh
You know Rana is nervous when she puts her notes aside...
Absolutely love Better call Saul! It’s so cool too see more of the cartel and the salamancas 😁 can’t wait for more episodes! 😎
Man those first 2 episodes were some of the most intense and most amazing episodes i have ever seen!
Lol I wouldn't go that far. They were good episodes that's it.
2:52 "Pop! Pop!"
Close! It's Pop-Pop!
Gus, killed him cause he had the nerve to cook in the lab, when the "chemist" who set up the lab, & just got shot in the face, felt he wasn't good enough to cook in it.
I had predicted from season 1 times that Kim was the Walter White of the series. Saul is the protagonist but he was always Slippin Jimmy, whereas Kim evolved to act like him.
Here is a question? Is the old Indian man getting his taxes done the same character that Walt buys the truck from in in episode 5x14 of Breaking Bad Because it's the same style truck parked in front of the Kettlemans tax place.
I think it is, Vince and Peter would put in that little detail just for us to notice
I think the licenses said Manitoba which is a Canadian Province. North of Minnesota I believe.
Thinking next episode will be Kim and Saul trying to convince Schweigert. He's the last major player needed to fully tank Howard's career
That was Sauls house after he and Walt went to the vacuum guy. Rather if Kim was living there, we don’t know. But that’s when that took place. And since she’s the one telling Saul to get all this flashy stuff, it seems like she was living there too.
The car at the end of the episode was Mike's. Surprised you didn't recognize it.
I don't think it was Mike. I think it was a detective Howard hired to shadow Jimmy and Kim.
6:26 the dental records match because in the last episode the guy lalo killed, he had "done him a favour" by getting his teeth "fixed" as a kind gesture, nothing to do with the fact he is roughly the same height and weight as lalo, and makes the "leave the goatee" comment read a little differently too! Lalo may seem like a nice guy at moments, but all his choices and kindly gestures are just means to his own end.
Mike put the letter with the motel phone in the safe. That is, Gus gave Nacho's location to the cartel. It's amazing that 4 people missed it. WOW
Nacho's tweaker girls make me so sad.
I laughed when that one girl asked what the record for Dominoes toppling was. I think at the time period of this (around 2004/2005) it was well over 3 million. She was soooo happy at getting several hundred to fall.
"Excuse me I see you!" LOL
22:38
Micky : Ooh shit He almost pull a "Hank"
Well said Micky, well said😂
Jimmy is the proof that Lalo is after...
The tax place is on the rez guys. Did no one notice the AC unit dripping? Had anyone read HG Wells Time Machine?
Love your reactions but you guys missed so much in the show. The beginning was obviously Saul’s house you saw all his ties and suits. Who else wears ties and suits like that? Also the guy who was killed with the half scissor the couple mentioned that he went to Lalo’s dentist that I’m sure was to match the dental records and use his body to fake his death. The safe was switched in order to put the envelope with the “phone number” of the motel on the paper that Nacho was hiding at to setup Nacho and have him killed. Gus wants Nacho dead. Mike was just nice to secretly keep his father’s ID that he saw. Also they showed the A/C water condensation so it was turned on in an abandoned building so Nacho knew someone was in there then he saw the hole with someone watching him. Okay I’m going back to watching almost done with the reaction just so many key things missed.
Gus: Lalo salamanca lives
You're goddamn right!
I have no idea if the car at the end is someone following them or just some car.
That time machine book was so detailed
18:27 Micky thinking "am I a bitch?" fvndjafsad
I feel like Kim is the Jesse of this show… trapped in the orbit of a bad man who has convinced himself that everything he does is justified.
20:44 "Hotel Ocatallaco"
The motel may look ran down but damn.... that food looked amazing.
35:50
I think I remember Jimmy buying these bowling balls before Howard offered him a job.
That was flashforward
Pat: "Oh these girls are dead, pop pop."
Me: "Pop Pop!"
This reference is streets ahead
Sometimes it feels like your reactions have a laugh track 😅
20:45
Oh, that's what it's called, eh?
Btw there are 13 episodes in this season, not 10. So there are 11 episodes remaining!
after so many years, you guys still dont know that's mikes car in the end?
If you’re talking about the very end… than no. That’s definitely not mike. If anything I’m pretty sure it’s Lalo.
I could be wrong, but pretty sure it’s not.
6:00 Come on guys you cant be this stupid. The guy with the beard from episode 1 is the body double. Hence why Lalo paid for his dental work and told him to shave like Lalo. Its not rocket science
Tbf that is still a theory, albeit very likely to be true, and pretty subtle. It only seems obvious now after some people caught on and spread out that detail
Rana and Micky look like Suraj and Pat’s parents.
21:07 did he called Browning HI-Power a CZ?😅
Again, the 'body' they found of Lalo was that mountain man guy from ep 1, who he asked to shave...etc. Pretty sure that's why Lalo killed him, cause he bore some resemblance. AND the dental records matched because in ep 1 they had that conversation with that man's wife, about 'how is his teeth now that he went to the dentist?'
Also, i think maybe Mike removed the Dad's fake ID no? I feel like Gus, like one of the normies said, doesnt give a F about the dad.
6:05 Gus is very thorough...
I believe we are seeing the beginning of Kim Breaking Bad
Wolves and Sheep
Dead body stashed ?…. Umm No. he killed that guy that shaved in the first episode and used his body. 😂
11:09 Tacos...
Gustavo is terrified of Lalo
gotta be lalo at the end
The point of the suit against Howard is to just get Cliff to settle quickly and then end his business with HHM.
37:06 I lost my shit
I Think You Guys Also react to True Detective season 1 it's phenomenal Some things you got to see in your life it Will be fine to watch your reaction
He always had a stashed body at his house!? You slow slow watcher haha
what the spin off should be The Salamanca
Kim is breaking bad
25:33
KIM IS A REAL BADASS!!
Hey normies after better call Saul can you guys react to snowfall
I hate it when they miss that the dental records matching was because it's the same guy who shaved in episode 1 where that guy's wife thanked Lalo for his husband's extensive dental service. It's a pet peeve of watching their reactions but I understand them, maybe watching too many shows caused them to miss important details. It's just gets annoying sometimes.
They're going to be really disappointed about Nacho
I feel like y’all ain’t actually paying attention to the show
