Was that comment really necessary? SeaWorld has nothing to do with this video. There was absolutely no reason to bring that up here. Just let people enjoy the video! :/
I loved this video! I really want to see them in this environment rather than in a big aquarium. I pray to God he gives me the chance to see this with my own eyes. Thank you for such a beautiful video!!!!
Yes, it is so fantastic to see such beautiful creatures. This video was on TV as well as you tube! It was also on local news, 5 pods of them were in active pass just showing off! Everyone was so excited about them as they seem to be on the increase with baby whales close to mom!
You sure got lucky that day. I’ve been whale watching off Vancouver Island for 20 years and have seen some great sightings, but never as lucky as to see all 3 resident pods together. These Orca and the Humpbacks and not forget the Greys are my passion. So Thankyou for posting such a breathtaking video
Awesome video. I love to see the Orcas. We live on Salt Spring Island and have seen them a lot of the east side and I have also seen them off of Vesuvius
I ALWAYS keep coming back to this video!!! With our SRKW down to 73, this reminds me of better times yet also so sad for those I recognise that aren't there anymore...
i LOVE to see the orcas roam freely in their natural habitat! we must learn to respect the nature as well as what the nature had brought to us, protect these magnificient creatures instead of hunting and killing them. ..
Another amazing video from your unique perspective there in Active :) I told all my guests that day on the whale watching boat to check out your channel on UA-cam when we get back because there is sure to be an amazing video of the whales going along the shore. I took a few photos of you guys standing on the rocks with the whales going by, if you want me to send them to you, let me know! Cheers!
Tasli Shaw Hi Tasli, Glad you like my videos! I'd love to see the photos of us on the rock! my email is tatragary@gmail.com Thanks very much!!! What boat are you on? Cheers, Gary
Oh neat it looks like they may have been hunting! Especially with those tail slaps, that moment where the five were real close together, and all of them repeatedly getting close to the shore. Really great quality video!
Never ceases to amaze how whales and dolphins of all sizes can leap high into the air and also exhale and inhale in 1 second and have enough oxygen to stay underwater for so long. Amazing.
God Bless all who vote to keep orcas protected and their environment free of pollution in British Colombia! This is hopeful viewing.....brings a kind of peace and joy to the heart to simply see them be them in their environment unharrassed.
Wow Gary this video is even better than the one from before!! U probably won't remember me but we met on fb a while back due to your video u took of the orcas and I remembered your name and recognise your backyard lol..This was by FAR the BEEEEST Video or Orcas I have Ever seen!!! What an experience that must of been!! So jealous!!! ;)
thanks Stephanie, last year was not a good year for our resident orca, not many salmon returned, some youngsters died. Hopefully this season will be better. They're spending a lot of time out in the open ocean at the moment but as soon as the salmon start to show up they'll be back!
Gary Cullen I really hope so! What time of year do they come? And how do u know when they pass behind your place? Do they go everyday? Or ?how can u time this perfectly so u know u will be able to see them?
Gary Cullen it"s Beautiful to see more than one pod hanging out together! It's not "natural" for them to do so...so to be able to witness this right here is One amazinv miracle of nature :)
The local residence can come through Active Pass at any time but more so from May through Sept. There is a network of people that live along their route through the Gulf Islands and they keep in touch with each other to let us know if they are heading our way. Their normal routine when the salmon are running is they start in Haro Straight off San Juan Island WA and head north into Canada's Gulf Islands. Then up past Pender Island, Mayne Island, into Active Pass heading east (Galiano is on the north side of Active Pass, Mayne on the south) then north east out into the Georgia Straight (some maps have the new name "Salish Sea") to the mouth of the Fraser River where there are lots of salmon especially later in the season when they are heading up the river to spawn. From the Fraser river they head back south to Point Roberts WA (and interesting place cut off from the rest of the USA, look it up) back down through the San Juan Island to Haro Straight where they tend to hang out before repeating the whole trip. In peak salmon season they may go past our place at least once every 24 hours (often at night though) and sometimes we've seen all 3 pods come through in one day at different times or on a rare occasion like the video, all together as a superpod. They really are creatures of habit, unlike the transients, and they almost always come in close to shore where we are located. Look up those areas on a map and you'll get a pretty good picture of their routine in salmon season.
That’s sucks having that very large ferry moving past those orcas, all the time. All day long. It probably chases their prey away as well, their precious salmon.
can't find a more naturally breathtaking & beautiful sighting than this recorded experience was, wow...this makes you feel even more sorry for all the ones who are in captivity now. Totally robbed away from all of this & where they belong. It's so sad.•*¨*🐬 Silent Tears ¸.•*¨*🐬 ¸.•*¨*🐬 raise awareness of dolphin captivity ¸.•*¨*🐬 •*amazing video¨*🐬•*¨*🐬•*¨*🐬
The Southern Resident Killer Whales are endangered and have special protections. Swimming with them would be punishable by jail time and fines. Remember these aren't pets, they are wild animals. Be respectful and give them space.
100x better than anything SeaWorld can put on. Great video.
BatfinksWings orcas should always be free.
indeed
Was that comment really necessary? SeaWorld has nothing to do with this video. There was absolutely no reason to bring that up here. Just let people enjoy the video! :/
Sydney P it was necessary. people should be aware of the differences between free Orca and captive!
Hell yeahhh!!!!! 🐬❤🐬❤🐬❤🐬
Loved it! This is the real SeaWorld, and not that aquatic park.
It's great to see them so happy and healthy! Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks for sharing. That's where orcas and whales should be, doing what they do best--being a happy wild animals.
I loved seeing that newborn breach. Had to weigh at least 300 to 400 pounds.
At that size it's not a newborn anymore. It was at least a year old by then.
I loved this video! I really want to see them in this environment rather than in a big aquarium. I pray to God he gives me the chance to see this with my own eyes. Thank you for such a beautiful video!!!!
Truly amazing. I loved this. Thank you. Really beautiful to see all these orcas in the wild
What a joy and privilege to see. Thank you for sharing.
Thank-you for sharing such a fantastic sight to see! How fortunate we are living here in BC to enjoy such awesome scenery and sea life! 👍👍❤️❤️

I'm so jealous, my life's ambition is to watch Orca, well done👌
So much tail slapping and spy hoping. I think they may have been playing. You were so lucky to have seen such a large pod and capture that video.
Awesome video. I love to see the Orcas. We live on Salt Spring Island and have seen them a lot of the east side and I have also seen them off of Vesuvius
Now this is a Show🐬🐬🐬Love This💕

Thanks for posting!
I keep coming back to this video. One of the most amazing Orca videos I've seen.
I was just over there! Now I wanna go back!
They're just beautiful and as a kid they were my favourite.
To actually own a house seeing this everyday must be amazing and hearing them during the day or night must be incredible..

God's beautiful creations!

The ending when the killer whales were all doing the same thing was the best part!
The one whale went back and brought his entire family to come visit you! Fabulous day!
Such a happoy sight to see. Thank you for posting.
Watching this in 2020, amazing.
I didn't see one droopy dorsal fin. I need to see in person before my time expires. They're gorgeous 😍
amazing creature!
God Bless all who vote to keep orcas protected and their environment free of pollution in British Colombia! This is hopeful viewing.....brings a kind of peace and joy to the heart to simply see them be them in their environment unharrassed.
Really nice video!
Absolutely beautiful thank you for sharing this video this is how orcas should be seen not in the prison that is sea world :-)
Oh how I miss Galiano!
So big and beautiful. I love to see them free and happy
Fantastic video! I wish I had been there!
My first action on watching vids of sea mammals is to mute the sound. There is only so much human screeching the ear can take...
THANKS for making this footage available! Orca's.......magnificent, intelligent and last but not least, POETRY IN MOTION!
Amazing video!!!

This is a BEAUTIFUL VIDEO 🐬❤🐬❤🐬
I'm smiling ear to ear 😊 I love seeing this
They were showing off.. weren't they?? 😄

That was ahhhhhmmaaaazzziinngg!!!!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
loving it,
tall straight dorsals...healthy happy, not like the bent over limp fins of one's in tanks the are suffering.
beautiful
theyre using the breaching and tail slapping to round up fish
Southern Resident Killer Whales don't tail slap to round up fish. They are salmon hunters and simply chase their prey.
WISH these awesome creatures would migrate to New England waters ! We Just had a spotting of a pod 🐋 off of Cape Cod , so there is hope !
My fav animal
2:55 Is that Blackberry??? :D
And this should be the way we observe them if not from a boat.
Grupo enorme
Awesome vidéo !!!
