@@CatieCass You are SO wrong. Except for those that were born to an orca living in SeaWorld, they are not related. They are taken from different groups in various parts of the world. They do not even speak the same language. That is fact. Ask the center for whale research if you need to verify that. SeaWorld will tell you what they want you to hear. Not all truth.
@@CatieCass most of the orcas that have been captured come from different ecotypes and have different social constructs and languages. Most of them barely understand each other BECAUSE they use different dialects. This ends up with the orcas constantly raking and biting each other. So no, orcas at sea world don’t have their pods. It’s an artificial assemblage of how sea world wants them to be.
Those who live the west coast of British Columbia not only watch the Orca but live with the Orca. We share food stock such as salmon, halibut, etc. Our Orca live in tribes ... family tribes ... called pods ... just like humans. The Orca tribe hunts as a unit just like a human tribes hunted decades ago. We may not travel during the pandemic but our marine cousins ignore the warnings ... lol .. .and travel from Alaska to California.
Corky and Lolita have been in captivity for over half a century. Lolita is from the Puget Sound Southern Resident orca population, which was decimated by captures in the sixties and seventies. They are now listed as critically endangered. Her mother, Ocean Sun, is estimated to be between eighty and ninety years old. They will probably never be reunited. Corky is a Northern Resident and member of the A-23 pod. Her sister, brother, niece and grand-nephews can still be seen roaming the coastal waters of British Columbia. What different lives they must lead.
These whales were so happy. That makes me happy, there were a bunch of males and females with their calves. Grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand kids, cousins, moms and dads. They were all together and they are all related. Orky ll, Lolita and Corky ll are southern resident orcas. Lolita is from Washington, Orky ll is from Canada and so is Corky ll. Orky is dead and the two females are still alive and in their fifties. Lolita is 54 and Corky is 58. And they both have tall proud dorsal fins. These whales were super active and having a whale of a time. Spyhopping, breaching, back breaching and lob tailing. This is how orcas should be seen. Now Seaworld is both good and bad, but when it comes to captivity, it’s wrong. This is how they should be seen, happy, together with their pods, in the wild.
Woooow!! Fabulous footage. I've seen sooo many orca videos but never ever something as majestic as these. They straight out put up a show. Awesome vid.
Thank you! I cried 😍😍 Looking forward to my Whale-Watching-Tour in May with "Vancouver Whale Watch" 😍 Hope to see some jumping Orcas and get pictures of it 😍🐳🐋
The breaching was just wonderful and awe inspiring. After watching this video how can anyone think it is ok to keep these magnificent creatures in marine parks. Free and in the wild
Great video! Orcas know you have been watching them, so some of them put on show, while also getting rid of their parasites on their skin. Smart move - "two birds with one stone". Thank you so much, xandra2705
It's actually not chlorine its salt water same as the ocean, however what they're kept in doesn't matter, where they're kept is the issue, the animals along with all wild animals belong in the wild, you cannot take a huge animal that swims hundreds of thousands of miles in any given month through the ocean and shove them in 10ish foot radius pool! I agree 10000% and maybe as they kill more trainers they will release and put into law that no whale may be taken from it's natural habitat
WAUW REALY AMAZING!!!!!! Al zo vaak bekeken en nog steeds tranen in mijn ogen en kippenvel: de combinatie van de schitterende beelden en de muziek > GEWELDIG!!!!!!
I absolutely loved the video minus the music. Would have preferred the natural sounds of the waves and most of all the Orcas. Thanks so much for sharing it.
I know this was filmed off Vancouver island...where exactly though? We're headed to Uclulet in two weeks and this is our whole reason for planning this trip! Such majestic creatures!!
DVC050311 There are a few Whale watching tour places. There's another place where you kayak alongside the Orca. You camp, and go hiking. Pretty expensive, but well worth it if you see the SuperPod.
Fijne vakantie alvast! Gr. Xandra
They seem to know what they are doing, after so many times listening to peoples oooohhhhshhss and ahhhhhs it should be no surprise you see them jumping out of the water. Makes you wonder if the one spy hopping is telling the others when to jump I'm sure it can be a way of communicating with us in their way.
Plenty SEALS AND SEA LIONS FOR THE TRANSIENT ORCAS TO EAT!!!!! NEVER STARVE BEAUTIFUL ORCAS. GREAT SONG BY THE WAY. FIRST TIME SEEN THIS VIDEO. 2021, MAY
Fantastic shots of the jumps. Must have been thrilling!! Which company did you use to go on the whale watch?? I like the idea of the open air seated boats which not all companies use.

I can only imagine what it would be like to see this in person....out In the open ocean. Beautiful! I love how Sea World tried to tell their guests that even Orcos in the wild have dorsal fins that flopped over. I have yet to watch any documentaries on Orcas that show a flopped over dorsal fin like the poor Orcas trapped at Sea World. What a horrible horrible HORRIBLE EVIL place.
Exactly. 1% of males in the wild have a flopped over dorsal fin, but in captivity, 99% of males have flopped over fins. (Namu, the first performing killer whale who was a male back in 1966 his fin was straight.)
Hoi Anita, op Vancouver Island zijn veel whale watch tours te boeken. Gewoon ter plaatse of tevoren via internet. Wij hebben deze tour een dag van tevoren geboekt door te bellen. Gr. Xandra
So awesome. In its true form. Love this. As well as the mammal...beautiful & tremendously smart. Is it weird that I truly believe that my Animal Spirit is an Orca? .
i dont think so, i think my animail spirit is a orca, on my left arm my vains connect to look like a orca with the fin and all! its actually kinda weird.
Hey SeaWorld, THIS is the way to watch whales. In the wild, living with their pods.
The whales in Sea World are living with their pods. They're not separated from their families.

If I lived on the west coast I would be out there every day to watch for these beautiful animals. So powerful and gorgeous.
Perhaps to make sure they are safe and unharmed for anyone who wishes to visit them free in their Natural Habitat
One of the best videos I´ve ever seen! This just made me tear up, so beautiful! Thx for sharing
Epic whales, epic music. Whoever filmed this got their money's worth that day. Whale watching is something you should do if you can.
Epic(a) music ;-)
One of Gods most beautiful and intelligent animals. I loved seeing them in their natural habitat in Washington
The music was well chosen - great film, great orcas, great experience!
Amazing. I‘m just coming from Vancouver Island and this brings tears to my eyes as I wanna go back there so hardly.

Wonderful footage of the Southern Residents.
Goede combinatie pirates of the caribbean muziek en orcas! Bedankt voor deze film!
How wonderful is seeing these fantastic mammals in a complete freedom.
OH MY GOD i got tears watching this !
Putting on a show for their own pleasure and not because it’s demanded of them. What a privilege it must have been to see up close
That breach at 4:58 is PERFECT. It reminds me of Free Willy. Fantastic video. :)
I think the BEST one is at 3:13
The breaching was just wonderful and awe inspiring. After watching this video how can anyone think it is ok to keep these magnificent creatures in marine parks. Free and in the wild
Better than Sea World
Better then Marineland
....Uh Marineland is a marine park.
The right way to see whales.
In fact better than any marine park that holds whales prisoners
What an amazing and absolutely lucky encounter with the Southern Residents! J and K pod socializing:)
Great video! Orcas know you have been watching them, so some of them put on show, while also getting rid of their parasites on their skin. Smart move - "two birds with one stone". Thank you so much, xandra2705
To think Sea World keeps these magnificent animals in a chlorine tank just breaks my heart, they belong in the wild 😔😔
Seaworld should move their parks to coastal cities. They'd make far more money off if it.
rebekka herrera way to keep the rumor mill going. Also did you know lemmings really run off cliffs? - sarcasm
To think you believe Peta's and Blackfish's lies
It's actually not chlorine its salt water same as the ocean, however what they're kept in doesn't matter, where they're kept is the issue, the animals along with all wild animals belong in the wild, you cannot take a huge animal that swims hundreds of thousands of miles in any given month through the ocean and shove them in 10ish foot radius pool! I agree 10000% and maybe as they kill more trainers they will release and put into law that no whale may be taken from it's natural habitat
If they need to be rehabilitated then the NOAA should cut off a huge chunk of ocean to keep them while they are fixed and then release
the whales are free in there home away from a little pool when they get trained to do stuff what they don't want to do
So Amazing and Beautiful. To the people that were there....so lucky to be there, I wish and hope someday I can see the orcas! Wow! Such a thrill!
Very beautiful, like submarines.❤
