I've been teaching this for years....literally. But it usually takes like, two class periods. You did it in 14 and a half minutes. Terrific. One thing my students struggle with is the "why" question....that is, why are there different perspectives. I find that's the hardest lesson to teach about the perspectives. Thanks for posting this.
Thank-you for showing the intelligence and "humanity" of the cat aiding the toddler in the example of learning in the beginning of the video! Thank-you! 🦋
As a to-be freshman, I am terrified of taking AP Psych this coming semester. However, this really helped me understand my summer assignment and ease the nerves. :)
Went through half a dozen videos that seemed like they were just reciting from a textbook instead of actually presenting an interesting summary. Good job mate, and thank you.
Perfect. Clear. Concise. I loved the review. I don't subscribe to many channels but was going to do so for you but then I saw you only have 2 videos! Anyway, thank you for this one!
This was awesome. I especially liked the review portion. It was fun having a consequence free examination of what I could retain of these psychological perspectives. Thank you for sharing.
Regarding that compliment I extended due to your providing references, now that I am listening and viewing for the third time, I am wishing the references were easier to read. I used a magnifying glass and while I do appreciate the credits being listed, using the list you provided requires participation beyond my expectation. A silly complaint, perhaps. And valid, perhaps. All in all, very helpful material for the purpose of clearer communication between client and clinician. Sincere thanks.
Thank you for the concise video module which explains the discipline areas of psychology. It is always useful to have a resource like this which can be referred back to when needed. The module covers the main discipline areas of psychology. Your explanations are clear and easy to follow.
What would be really interesting to learn is how each different perspective handles a specific condition. For example, how does the CBT handle depression compared to the socio-cultural perspective etc. I'll explore your channel some more, thank you!
Surprised that throughout psychology, I never came across this. This should be more widely taught in this cohesive manner. I think I learned it separately at different times but seeing it in this way makes you understand the field more
Fantastic lesson. The pacing is perfect, slow enough but not too slow. Useful and interesting factual information presented well. Engaging without being annoying. Great video, thanks!!
As a high school psychology teacher, I find this to be an invaluable supplement to my lessons on the psychological perspectives. This is excellently and clearly constructed and presented. Than you for sharing your work!
please do a video on the differences of applied and theoretical psychology. I just can not fully grasp the understanding other than one is applied to real life and the other theoretical. But once you make questions more complex like determining what makes people happy and eyewitness accounts influenced by memory and recall, I am unable to determine what applied and what is basic.
Falling back into dysfunctional patterns when presented with honest, caring and authentic feedback… it’s very sad… the courage to raise out of it a little can spread light. It’s funny, not ha ha funny… calling people “lost” or victim blaming… it highlights dual process dysfunction at times, but over analysis can also not be good as progress is needed for Movement and understandings. It’s what some spaces like art therapy and “lock systems” of realizations can help… but it’s kinda like anti biotics… a half round causes far more damage. It’s workable y’all, try to breathe. I’m working on it too. We all are… none of us are perfect.
I’m currently a freshman in highschool and i’m still trying to find what career I wasn’t to pursue. I’m always curious as to why people behave a certain way and why they behave that way. I was researching more into neuroscience but it didn’t sound very interesting but now looking into psychology I now know what i wanna do. I want to pursue psychodynamic psychology.
I solidified what I wanted to do right before my freshman year of high school, and now I’m in college chasing my dreams of entering the medical field. It’s going to be a wild ride at times, but as long as you remember your goals, and keep pushing, you’ll be good. You’re gonna do amazing things!
