There are many major new features to enjoy in ACNH introduced with the 2.0 Update, with lots of different activities to try. However, there are also some things that you DON'T want to do in the update that could make your experience worse. Let's take a look.

I downloaded Raid Shadow Legends first time playing but I didn’t get TAYREL.
I actually ran into the Brewster time travel discrepancy because I had decided to completely revamp my residential area and moved 9 houses to the beach and to a new spot later. I got the 50 coffee achievement but only much later got the Brewstoid. Luckily my Stretching goal seems in sync.
Good point, I think those can go out of sync too!!
I didn't time travel but I was a day off, presumably it only counts if the first thing you do is sit down and drink the coffee at its hottest.
@@Wiimeiser I think there was also something where originally multiple cups a day counted towards the Nook Miles which they later changed in one of the smaller updates. Maybe that caused it bc I heard that now Brewster actually understands that you drink the coffee less hot and eventually brews it at lower temperature.
I didn't do anything at all and it's still not syncronised.
I ONLY HAVE 4 BREWSTER ITEMS LEFT YESSS (My mother warned me before time traveling because we both play)
Actually, Wisp will only give you items if the value is up to 100.000 bells, he will never give you an item that is higher that that, still alot better than before the 2.0 update, that was limited to 10,000 bells max. Personally I havent seen Wisp in months.
I also haven't seen Wisp in months! I was beginning to forget he existed. 👻

I'm pretty sure he's always there Sunday nights! The ACNH Travel Guide app always has him listed as visiting on Sundays.
If you already have issues with overgrown flowers I’m pretty sure beautiful ordinance would probably make it worse
In new leaf I regretted my decision because the flowers spawned like weeds, they were everywhere
And in NH you have to tediously dig them up so dkdjdjsn
it was way easier to get rid of them in nl doe u could just sprint thru them & bam gone
Same, I had to remove the ordinance because the flowers were just growing out of hand 😫
I used the ordinance in hopes of keeping them at bay, along with the weeds, but i had fields and fields of flowers so i had to change it
If you guys don't want flowers to grow at all, surround your flowers with clear/blank custom designs on the floor and they won't spread. Hope this is helpful!
At least in new leaf you could run through them to break them or just pick them rather than needing breakable shovels 😭
Also: do NOT get coffee with others during a milestone day. I got my 50th with visitors over and was not awarded my Brewster gyroid that day. Luckily, I time traveled back to the day of my milestone achievement and got the gyroid, but I almost didn’t so beware lol
You get every item a day after the milestone, so if you want the Brewster gyroid you’ll have to get coffee for 51 days, at least that’s how it happened for me and I never time traveled.

I always do Wisp's task, I'm a completionist so I want all them new entries. The only visitor I tend to forget is Gulliver, which is mostly because of how much you have to spam A to wake him up. The digging is fine but that A spam is so annoying to me

It's funny how the beautiful island ordinance feels like a downgrade from the one in New Leaf, even though I'm pretty sure it's exactly the same. The main difference is that flowers in acnh don't wilt and DIE when you don't water them for a day or two. There's no risk of your garden disappearing if you time travel.
It's a downgrade because our flowers had been upgraded lol.
There was also a penalty for selling trash in NL (given you don’t have the garbage can but I think even that reduced your island score). In NH we’re given a small amount of bells, plus there’s trash diys. So, really, the beautiful island ordinance is like, the least effective, in opposition to being the most effective in NL.
I’d die if my flowers would die since I time travel so much (I started playing in the winter and my favorite part is fishing and catching bugs and I can’t catch as much in the winter)

@@youngjellyfish8694 only in old games, in animal crossing new horizon they can spawn black flowers which are hybrid colors. In new horizon they’ll never die 💖
Beautiful ordinance is super convenient for me because I run a maze/obstacle course through my entire island for giveaways/for fun and weeds spawn in spots that are annoying to get to. Not having to deal with that while also being a time skipper is the best. My default ordinance is beautiful :D
You could put fully transparent patterns in those areas to prevent weed growth.

@@ShadowSkyX you can stunt tree growth by planting any fruit but coconuts in the 8 squares right next to it. Just make sure the tree is grown to the height you want when you stunt it

Personally I love the time related ordinances. It lets me play animal crossing even with my crazy schedule. ☺️
gonna be honest, one feature id love to see is being able to have friends visit your vacation island like you do your actual island so they can see how you setup shops and stuff and vice versa. Would be awsome to visit vacationers homes and show off to your friends and also visit thiers
I finally remembered to start checking after I did bad luck three times without having enough bells. Also, I used the beautification to let my island get over grown with flowers so I could move my rocks. I wasn't in a hurry to move them because I hadn't chosen where I wanted them yet, and I got a TON on new flower colors from it. Also, i haven't tried it yet since taking the bell ordinance off, but my black roses were producing
Gold roses on their own without me watering them with my gold watering can. Lastly, I chose an expensive item from wisp this last time and actually got an expensive new item. So I think wisp may have been upgraded more than is expected.
The weeding achievement isn’t really changed with the beautiful ordinance as you can still get them from kappan and nmts and picking weeds on those islands counts
I noticed that the beautiful island ordinance makes my flowers grow so much quicker.✨ I personally like it because I used to have a smal patch of blue hyacinths but now it’s become an overgrown field of them in no time! I’ve always wanted a field of flowers in my game but Im lazy to water them all so I’m really loving the beautiful island ordinance. ^^✨✨

I did the beautiful island ordinance and my island became way too over ran with flowers. So unless you want your island covered entirely with flowers, I agree to not use the beautiful island ordinance
I did it too and my flowers were growing in ALL the wrong spots and way too much every day 😂😭 I ended up not doing it anymore lol
I love Wisp! I always play his mini game when I see him and I always choose something new. Glad to know I've been doing the right thing 😎
If you have the Happy Home Paradise DLC but also really want to get some of the new 2.0 items, Waddell will open a shop after you buy a certain number of items from that shop so you don't have to go trading for the new items! There's so many items and all of their customisations available from him :)
Only bad thing is they cost poki! I run out of poki very easily lol
@@meganz020 but if you design a certain amount of happy homes you will SOON be able to trade bells for poki! so .... if you have a lot of bells... you will be able to cash them in for poki! :D

Now I just wonder what happens to wisp if you have all the items and ask for something new
He might just give you whatever at random. Before 2.0 I had a full catalogue (furniture not clothing) and when asked for something new he would just give me something at random mostly wallpapers.

I think that villager hunting desperately and majorly needs to be revamped because you can spend hours just trying to get the villager that you want and a lot of Nook Miles. The process is very tedious having to go to the Nook Stop to print a ticket then take it to the airport then having to sit through Orville's dialogue then look at the DAL logo during takeoff then having to sit through Wilbur's dialogue for takeoff and leaving then repeat until either you have run out of miles or you finally found the perfect villager. The problem is that we are at the mercy of the game when villager hunting hoping and praying that the game will give you the villager that you want.

Orville does NOT have to talk that much i wish they would shorten his dialogue or have a skip all button if you know what youre doing, its so frustrating especially when traveling to friends islands if you accidentally click the wrong thing you have to start all over it takes forever!!!

As I also learned the hard way... do not select Beauty Ordinance if you don't have all your flowers contained because they WILL overgrow and take over your island really fast ;~; (Thanks villagers for being overzealous plant waterers)
Not very versed in TT & so I've never tried it. However, I've been very fortunate with Kap's islands: I think I may have already visited all the islands except cherry blossom & bamboo islands. So far I've been to star island twice & just today visited money tree island! I began playing the game in the middle of June, so sadly, no cherry blossom island. Thank you always for keeping us updated with the latest! Wishing you much health & wealth in the coming new year 2022! ❤
You will always get the Brewster reward a day later regardless of TT. But I dont TT so I dont know if it could throw it off further.
I never time travel and yet my Brewster reward counters were offset by one day. I got my day 30 reward on day 31, day 40 on day 41, and the Brewstoid on day 51. I have no idea how that happened.
That's normal. He gives his final reward on day 51.
Sounds like you might’ve just missed a day or gotten an extra coffe one day that the game accidentally counted? Idk
Hi there Dan! I had the same effect as. Whilst I might have travelled backwards, I don’t think I did. So the rewards were always 1 up on the achievements. Planned on mentioning that in an upcoming video ;)

I haven't time traveled since getting the roost and my Nook Miles counter is still a day ahead of Brewster's rewards.
I got a cup of coffee to go one day, which doesn't count toward Brewster gifts, but I think it does add to the miles counter
I wanted to tell u if u didn't know but they added a winter fishing tournament for Jan 8 2022 for the northern hem. Love your videos lol!
I'm pretty sure that was already a thing before the 2.0 update.
Naw it wasn't if u check the nook miles achievements the y tournaments were for spring and summer with the last one in September

I have Beautiful Island on my island as I've been trying to get blue roses (to no avail) but if you've completely reset your island and want more flowers/hybrids, it really helps!
Ben was so cute in this episode especially seeing his excitement in the ad. But when it comes to Wisp I interact with him because he is loved not because he will give you something. To me his gifts are a bonus. #BobsGang
Luckily I've got everything with brewster. Only backwards I'll go to is if I want to catch the middle of the night bugs and fish
Interestingly, the DLC is internally called "OneRoom", and the moss island is considered a part of it.
Don’t forget to go to Harv’s Island first thing every day to take advantage of Katrina’s luck. If you go after you’ve done your dailies, you could miss out on stuff like extra money.
I'm afraid to use Beautiful Ordinance on my island because I thought it was a good decision to me but no, it gets worse. It usually causes their island to have it overgrown with flowers and it might be too hard to get rid some of them from your island so I had to change it immediately just that it doesn't grow faster.
I only used it to grow more of a flower I needed but I forgot to change it now I have a jungle
I recently restarted one of my islands. Before, when buying before the Brothers got their store going, you could buy a swimsuit and get swimming almost immediately, which is a swift way to collect bells. Now you can't do it until you get your mitts on a pole or order a swimsuit via nook points.
EDIT: PS, I started a new island and then saved and skipped ahead a full year as soon as I went to standard time (TT back to dec 2020) to get around the island issue.
That’s cause the deep sea diving part wasn’t added to acnh at first and came in an update, tho it’s not hard to grind through the first 3 days with just cleaning the island, and doing stuff for blathers
@@pacrat6271 I doubt it. My main island will never be restarted, but it is not the only Switch I have and have restarted islands multiple times.

Reward for 40 cups. I didn’t get when I reached 40 (which was today) and i do not time travel at all. Perhaps it’s a glitch. Or I wonder if it doesn’t count when you drink in other towns?

Yeah. I use weeds for cooking sea basses, and making shrubs, and the tires you can randomly fish out can be used to make tire toys!
I noticed that when I get the nook miles achievement for visiting brewster x amount of times, I only get the reward the next day, good to know there's a reason for that!

I found some pretty secret dialogue from niko if you are on the dlc island and you stay in game overnight with out ending and saving just turning off your switch while in game and don’t close the game u get some rare dialogue you can only get by doing that

i had the bell boom ordinance but the thing is my schedule gets me up at 6 am and at school by 7:30 am so then im sitting int he parking lot and cant do most of my faster dailies because of the time. i set it to early bird and its been working just fine. things open earlier but close at the same time
Currently using the bell boom on my island bc im mainly paying off loans and getting harv's island on its feet, but I've heard that beautiful ordinance helps with spawning hybrid flowers, so once everything's been paid off it's time to switch. And the fact that there's a currency exchange in the DLC (between bells and poki) really has been a game changer
Just a thought, after seeing the huge amount of new fans New Horizons brought, and the many things they coment it needs change or improvement, do you think is gonna influence a lot in the next Animal Crossing Nintendo would make? Kinda hope so, I wonder what the next extry is gonna look like. At least avoid a couple of things like the repetition of recipes.

This is good to know, but also a pain... I got everything for Brewster (miles and physical rewards) but for aerobics I only got all miles. So looks like I gotta do 50 days in a row of aerobics which is annoying since those take like minutes to do. Welp... gotta find a time to fix this.
The brewster achievement and gifts can become desynced by having your first cup of coffee on someone elses island(it wont count if you go and have one on your own after). Itll count toward the achievement, but not toward his gifts. I desynced mine that way, because i didnt time travel when that happened.

For the Kapp’n islands, just time travel one year. Then the game will count all the seasons thinking you’ve played through them all. Hope this helps!
I tried this. Got the 1 year anniversary cake and all. Didnt work for kappn Islands though, still cant visit the Islands with cherry blossoms, spring bamboo and shooting stars.
@@katl6428 You'd need to leave the time ahead a year; it checks if the relevant date has passed since your character was created.
@@m2pt5 Whats the point. If youre going to do that and play 1 year ahead, then you might as well just TT to the season you want, grab what you need, then go back to real time. Kapp'n is pretty much useless, couldnt even bother to go there. Thnx Nintendo.

I hate weeds, so I tried the beautiful island ordinance but it still didn't do anything for me. Instead of simply preventing weeds, it made my villagers water my flowers more, so my flowers exploded even in spots I swore I already had invisible path. I went back to using no ordinance lol
Imo if you're still paying off debts the bell boom ordinance is super worth it and it literally pays for itself if you keep it on long enough
With my school and work schedule having the night owl one is nice because by the time I get home I would be in that last bonus hour on some days
Surely you can use the ABD at Harv's Island before seeing Katrina so you always have enough in your pocket, providing your account has 10,000+ bells.

I feel like the beauty island ordinance is for those that don't play that often and they don't have to spend as much time pulling weeds or paying Leif to pull them instead. I love Wisp. I'm still working on filling my catalogue and he's become my favorite NPC. I always look for him every night.
Beautiful Island Ordinance helps a lot if you want to grow hybrids. I think it might help with gold roses and lilies of the valley, too, since I now have a ton of both.
I dunno about lilies of the valley, but can confirm for gold roses. I have a section of my island that is basically a garden of black roses. When I put this ordinance up, I got my first golden rose after a rainy day - didn't even have to use a gold watering can.
I have asked Wisp for a new item since 2.0, and he's given me an item that I have already cataloged, but currently don't have that item in my inventory.
I did time travel a couple of times however my Brewster Nook miles counter seems fine, however, I did notice it took me longer to get some of the items, but tbh I just thought it took longer to get them, but I’m already maxed out on the miles for it and got all the items he gives you, so no worries I guess for me!
Honestly even with the beautiful island ordinance there still seem to be a few weeds growing around so if you still need those it's not so bad
I restarted my island in June. Five days after the date for star fragment island. I'm very sad.
I restarted mine in September so I kept wondering why all my mystery islands were boring 😂
My default has to be early bird because I like to play before work. I usually don't get back until 10pm....when everything is closed.

yep, they can give you their photo multiple times! i've gotten a second photo from two of my villagers so far.
Yh fangs given me 2 and 3 off elvis. Its odd but I guess a rare villager giving a second would be good for trading

Thank you Ben, I appreciate your calm voice and great information! My families game card is unfortunately corupted now and after trying to save it and not being able to I will have to get another game card, I'm so sad this happened for all the time I've put in (and knowing it will be lost). Do you know what causes this, and how to protect myself in the future so it doesn't happen again?
I'm assuming you are talking about the Micro SD card. SD cards can be kind of finicky and are known to have a certain amount of rewrites before they start to get corrupted. If it is an older card, or a really cheap card, then the chances of corruption are higher.
If the SD card got corrupted (and this is where you saved your game), then your best bet to prevent this in the future would be to use the Cloud backup feature (enabled in the options when you press - on the title screen). That way the game is saved securely on the cloud and can be restored.
The beautiful town ordinance basically turns ur flowers into weeds they grow like crazy but great for breeding hybrid flowers tho
if you want hybrid flowers the beautifull island ordinance is pretty relevant, thats why i used it at least
Interestingly, I have found out that it is possible to visit seasonal islands with Kapp’n without having experienced the season in question before on your main island. There is a little Easter egg that can be done with Dodo Airlines by performing the joy reaction in front of the reception desk and having Orville perform the reaction back to increase the odds of finding a rare nook miles ticket island. The same can be done similarly with Kapp’n’s islands, except you will need to talk to him first to make sure he is facing you, cancel the conversation, and then perform the joy reaction until he performs it himself and then finally set sail. I’ve found quite a few rare Kapp’n islands this way including money tree island.

@@linxnfovx It's worked several times for me. For example, I didn't play the game during Autumn and I did this with Kapp'n and got an Autumn island with mushrooms.
I was so confused why my nook mile counter said I visited the roost more times than the rewards I got
I had also been using the nook mile achievement as a timer. but I work nights so I backwards travel a lot. oops. Also love how ur character is in the ad :3

For my islands thhe only reason it'd say I've had more coffee is from me having done my daily coffee trip that day then having friends over or deciding to have more coffee for some reason

I got my Brewstoid a couple of days ago. It has a place of pride in the middle of my living room, cooing joyfully. Very out of character if I do say so.
The only thing left that I would change is allowing for bulk ticket buying. Buying tickets one at a time from the nook kiosk is the most boring activity in the entire game, especially when "scouting" for new neighbors. I gotta sit and mash A until I have around 10 Nook Miles tickets in my pockets before island hopping, and although less effective money-wise, back in the day when I was strapped for cash, I found it to be more time-saving to buy NM Tickets and sell those over bell vouchers, since you gotta sit through the explanation EACH. TIME.
OK, so. I only started playing last November. I've restarted my island twice after learning more about playing. But I honestly still feel like such a noob. Your vids are really helping me see how intricate the game is. So thank you so much. Also, I've become a massive AC fan. So much so I now have 2 consoles and 2 copies of the game so I could have islands in both hemispheres 🤣 (I'm spoilt 😜)
Oh, that explains why I got all my rewards the day after I was supposed to. I guess I traveled back once and didn't think about it. No big deal. I still got the Brewstoid on day 51.
What I found out painfully on restarting after hours of searching for my perfect island was that they have now divided up the flowers. I really wanted to have mums on my northern hemisphere island. But I only found tulips, pansy, anemones and hyacinths. In desperation, I tried a lot and also looked in the southern hemisphere, where I finally found the other four types of flowers. Roses, mums, cosmos and lilies. Definitely a change since the update.

I also noticed you can get bad luck from Katrina more often (and get her awesome items) if you go see her with over 100,000 bells in your pocket every day. It seems she’s more likely to give you bad luck that way. Or maybe it’s just because I’m prone to bad luck in life in general 😂
A tip for people in ACNH people who have a star rating 3 and below... you might thing I'm mad but listen to isibela!

Recently I only time traveled back to toy day on Christmas day because I forgotten to put up my toy day stockings

Does having coffee with friends also affect the counter? I didn’t time travel but noticed that I received Brewster rewards three visits after I reached 50 visits, same number of times I had coffee with friends at the roost when visiting my town

If you time travel to NYE on your island you go back and forward you get more light stick
even if you haven't unlocked everything, Kapp's tour is still good for mat farming. This includes weeds.
Also beautiful island spams your island with flowers, which is a pain if you like flowers organised

On the mystery islands, can you ever get an island with a different type of fruit than what is native to your island?
On kappa’ islands I’m not sure but on regular nook mile ticket islands you will be able to get one different fruit from your own (aside from coconuts.) that fruit is called your ‘sister’ fruit. However it is a rare island to find.

I time travelled because I missed New Years. I accidentally time travelled forward (so I saw the 2023 New Years event) and then am back on the correct day. I wonder how much this messed up the counter....

Don't cut down all your pine trees during winter because you think they're ugly. I only got the game a couple of weeks ago so I didn't realise when I did it that I could get ornaments by shaking them. So to do Jingle's little toy day quest I had to go ask Reddit for some ornaments. 😂🤦🏻♀️
the beautiful island ordinance ruined my life, there are lots of random flowers EVERYWHERE
I chose the beautification ordinance as I have all the achievements and hundreds of weeds in storage, plus you can just go to a mystery island or Capns island to get more if you need them. But I am a little confused, I didn't play my game for a few days but when I logged in there were LOADS of weeds!!?? It was only a little over a week I wasn't able to play for and they where everywhere! I have also been having an issue that might be a bug, things I am doing are not saving!? For instance I ended up with 2 gyroid fragments in my bag, I was certain I had buried and watered the fragment from the day before but for some reason when I came into my island the next day it was back in my bag, I went and got the new one and buried them both, but the next day when I came to my island they were both in my bag again! I think maybe the game isn't saving properly if you simply put the Switch to sleep with the game on standby without saving, I do this often as at the moment I am only playing ACNH (Until Arceus comes out) and I have found after the game has loaded the new day and done the Isabella cut scene some of the things I did the day before didn't stick. I always get the money from the Nook drop box but that is always the last thing I do AFTER burying the fragments!
beautiful island is really useful for trying to breed flowers! it will quickly become a mess though, flowers will duplicate like crazy . but it's not a terrible ordinance in my opinion :)
My game was drunk when I found Brewster. I didn't time travel or even have a single droid made when I found him first time traveling by boat. Talk about lucky.
