The truck in front of Walt's house is a GMC. Tuco's truck is a Cadillac. Subtle difference that shows how paranoid Walt and Jesse are.
But tuco must have had more than 1 truck tho?
Could've also been a foreshadowing for Walt being vetted by Gus' organization
@@mhubjerWhoa! Getting ahead of ourselves a bit there, ain’t we? Let’s reign in the spoilers, OK?
And that was a very deliberate detail on the show’s part. Showeunner Vince Gilligan has explained that he wanted to preserve a sense of uncertainty & doubt over how much Walt & Jesse’s paranoia over Tuco was justified. They made sure to prominently show us the Cadillac logo on the front of Tuco’s SUV as it blocked Jesse’s car from leaving the meet site at the start of the ep, and Jesse even specifically mentions having seen Tuco’s “Caddy SUV cruising around” his neighborhood, but Arianna even mentions how the SUV Walt sees is clearly a GMC. If it was a Cadillac, that would have left too little doubt that it was Tuco, but a GMC? Is it an innocent unrelated vehicle? The car of another member of Tuco’s crew? A continuity error on the show’s part? There’s just no way to know for sure.
It might cast some doubt but they were definitely there for Walt. Nobody legit is gunna do a no lights reverse 3 point turn.
Hank's the best.
Awkward hug followed by, "want me to take a look at that water heater?"
So relateable.
Hank’s face when Skyler is goin’ off about Marie is ✨chef’s kiss✨
he'd probably rather be investigating junkyard corpses
The greatest thing Vince ever did was change that S1 ending where he planned to kill Jesse off, Aaron Paul is genuinely amazing.
The writer's strike in 2007 saved Jesse's life, because their shooting was cut short by two episodes and they never got to shoot and release Jesse's death, giving them an opportunity to reevaluate how they wanted to proceed into season 2 after the strike was over.
It’s so wild coming back to the season 2 intro with context
It's weird seeing black and white in a different context than the "Nippy timeline".
And the episode titles. Don't forget about the episode titles in this season
“ahhhh is he crying” 😢😢

Singing about killing someone with magic beans was hilarious
Duuuude, imagine the stress of having to wait a whole week at the end of each episode. It was torture! Especially the mid season finales! The hype was SO real at the beginning of each episode
omg the S5 mid season break was excruciating. Well worth it though
Walt and Jessie are in a world of danger. But Appa was living his BEST Life! (Yip-Yip!) 😄
Imagine this scenario. Walt disappears mid conversation. Skylar finds a diaper box full of cash and a gun. Somehow, Walt survives, despite being kidnapped by a tweeker psycho killer, while having a picture on his phone of an obviously dead Gonzo.
@@zeroomens9438Skylar is the more common, correct way to spell it.

Good luck, guys.
The cold opens are so memorable. Especially this one.
Yeah now that we are a few episodes ahead it’s fun anticipating when or how they will come back around!

It's interesting you mentioned True Detective. When Bryan Cranston accepted his Emmy for the last season of Breaking Bad, one of the first things he said was, "If you're surprised, so am I. Even I thought about voting for Matthew." Cranston said farewell to Walter White on an Emmy win, while also beating out Matthew McConaughey on True Detective. You're in for some really amazing work!
the 2007-08 writer's strike is the reason why this episode is more a continuation of season 1.
There was one year pause between season 1 and 2 so that first scene was needed for viewers to recollect where we left, you guys are lucky to have it on demand and watch it for the first time! I'm jealous!
I hear ppl dont like skylar but i honestly understand what she does for the most part. shes kinda funny too
she's annoying.
@@Diegesis Peoples' opinions of Skyler are more revealing about them than they are about Skyler.
My least favorite character in the show. Very annoying. Hard to put into words but I feel like she was poorly written.
Skylar did nothing wrong
@@zammmerjammerYou need to a life! Bro says he doesn’t watch their videos but still goes out of his way to click on the video to write a paragraph in the comment section 💀
I love it when Hank has those moments of serious competence. Then immediately covers it up with meathead bluster haha.
Oh Wow, if this episode already has *that* much of an effect on them, I seriously worry for those two in the upcoming seasons. 😥
Imagine saying you need a trigger warning lol over a show 😂😂
@@BigMoore1232 You know that that’s different, right?!
@@BigMoore1232 Yeah, I mean espescially when you know the premise for the show. Giving a trigger warning right before everything bad that happens would take away from the story telling.
@@stillvenomyou don't need a description for a trigger warning just say like mentions of sexual assault, murder, drugs, etc
@@usernamepassword236 They do that in the rating for the show. So if that bothers you don’t watch it.
The carefree breezy days when the worst thing they had to worry about was tuco salamanca lol
Season 1 was supposed to be 9 episodes, but a writers' strike cut it short. You could say that season 2, episodes 1 & 2 would have originally been the final 2 episodes of season one, but that would be only partially correct. They used the break supplied by the strike to vastly improve the show... to wit: it was supposed to have been Jesse that Tuco beat to death at the junkyard, but everyone was so impressed with Aaron Paul that they revamped and started writing him in as a major character.
11:06 This shoe DOES get really intense. Breaking Bad has some of, if not the, best tension filled scenes ever written. There is so much more drama here, with two guys just talking about killing someone, then pretty much any superhero movie where the entire world is in danger.
The end discussion is fun and interesting when you know what's gonna happen. Makes you anticipate the future reactions and wonder if Maple and Arianna are gonna remember these concerns.
Yeah, watching them unpack all the multiple dilemmas Walt and Jesse now face, and how fast they were talking through their anxiety... all I gotta say is that the writing of this show is fucking flawless.
Oh you sweet summer children... lol
I can't find "Magic Beans" on iTunes... can someone help?
The anxiety never ends with this show.
I enjoyed "Oh snap!" about 30 seconds before Gomie says "Oh snap!" when Gonzo's arm literally (oh) snaps
"Ugh not the HELOC" 😂😂

I've watched dozens of reactors watch this show, and this is the first time I've ever heard one suggest that the snail in the first scene is a paid actor.🤣🤣🤣
(Edit) I just wanted to thank you guys for reacting to this. It was a pretty wild episode, but I hope you stick with it. It is a very good show, but yeah there are some knarly themes and situations...
Just joined patron to get more reactions but now I'm scared. If this episode shook them then oh baby.
well they're nearly at season 3 by now
This episode should be called Magic Ricin Beans.
You girls are in for a rough ride if you don't like the episodes ending like that LOL
I never really understood all the hate Skyler got from fans of this show. SHE IS SO CLEARLY THE VICTIM IN ALL OF THIS (and Junior). Gotta see it from her perspective.
Also, if y'all thought this was crazy...just you wait. 😅
"I never really understood all the hate Skyler got from fans of this show." Some breaking bad fans are deranged and think Walt is some sort of hero lol.
@@zammmerjammer I can understand it in Season 1. But less so in the seasons after that.
I do...they specifically made her that character. The audience is duped by Walt's bullshit just as easily as the characters in the show are, that's how good the acting and writing is
@John-il2fy Thanks for proving my point.
@@andrewsmith8715 your point is dumb. Even while claiming to see it from her perspective, you arent. Shes inconsiderate and self centered just as much as Walt.
Hopefully this season will be a little more chill. 🤞
How breaking bad cultivates the worst audience I've ever seen is genuinely impressive
That close up on the snail is creeping me out since Ive watched Adventure Time.
Remember Walt is the main character but not the hero
This season is FAR from chill. Cant wait for the reactions 😂
Correction, the entire show is a rollercoaster of emotions...and there are far worse scenes ahead.
This season in particular has some that will stick with you until the end.
I watched this show from the premier, before it became insanely popular. The first episodes of season 2 were so intense and depressing that for a few weeks I stopped watching, just saving them on DVR. AT the end I had to get caught up before the finale, so I watched them all in one night. Season 2 was rough, man...
This season is a banger. Cannot wait for y'all to get through it. Great reaction as always.

"This show gets really intense"...... it's only the first EP of season 2. RIP.
It being humid would make it stink worse...
Hank and Marie are both the realest
Funny how people start this show on Walt's side and hating Skylar. Just wait till things progress, its a wild ride.
People need to give reactors a chance to stop hating Skylar. The amount of criticism they receive for not liking Skylar right away is ridiculous.
@@BornInsane0 no hate. I started off irritated with her as well. I was commenting on the genius of the show on how it takes the viewer on a crazy ride

@@MarisuSedai exactly. You nailed it
I love Raymond Cruz and his portrait as Tuco. He's nothing like the character he plays. In fact, his wife didn't talk to him while he was in this show.
The next episode is definitely going to be intense. Get ready for it. Thanks for another great reaction
yeah i’ve said it before Raymond Cruz brought something special to the show that no other actor could have

Tight ......tightightTIGHT! Funny how drugs do diff things to people. I tried a boatload of meth once and all that happened was I got extremely chill lol. Then there's this dude bouncing off the walls beating people to death
This is one of the toughest scenes!
Don't kick that dead guy, shit. Talk about adding insult to injury.
I don't think ones true personality, who one "really" "is", is somehow revealed in the absence of stress, because then no one would have a real personality, because everyone is dealing with stress, more or less. The true test of who you are is the way you treat yourself and others despite dealing with stress.
It's an interesting conversation, along the lines of "do the worst circumstances show who you really are, or are your actions just a reflection of the circumstances?" I would say that it's a combination of both, in that a moment of weakness under stress does not define who you are, but you do have to take responsibility for it. Ultimately, I think Batman Begins nails it "It's not who you are underneath, it's what you do that defines you".
@@AdityaKaul-dm8fk As I already stated, personality is not the absence of stress, just like freedom is not the absence of constraints. On the contrary, your personality - or your freedom - is the result of the way you relate to that stress, and your freedom to the way you relate to those constraints. Which of course, as your rightly pointed out, can alter your personality in all sorts of ways, and turn you into someone that not only other people dislike, but someone that you, too, dislike or don't even recognize as you. But the point is that that's still "you", since the alternative would commit you to the absurd and untenable position that you have a true personality that is uncontaminated by stress, which would allow you to get away with and excuse any kind of immoral behavior. And the relevance here is that that is often the way we treat female characters - reducing their bad behavior to them being victims of circumstance, i.e. stress, instead of showing them respect by holding them accountable for the consequences of their actions.
@@johns6014 That's not really the point. I think your account of agency is untenable since it leads to an irresponsible subjectivism where any judgement of someones character is based on ones arbitrary opinion about who she "really is".
@@magnuskarlsson8655I understand your point. My point was that it is highly subjective and very dependent on the kind of circumstances we are talking about. There are day-to-day stresses of life, and then there are unnatural circusmstances that humans behave absurdly in. For example, Orwell makes the point in 1984 that high-level torture and a complete physical and mental breakdown of a human being expose their real personality, which I think is BS. It's a human being reacting unnaturally to an unnatural circumstance. As with all aspects of psychology, you have to see the holistic picture of the particular case.
@@AdityaKaul-dm8fk Thanks for this, for what it's worth I agree with you. Yes, to some extent, challenges and the way we react to them can teach us a lot about ourselves. But that doesn't mean that the worse things get the more "real" the person is. It can also just mean that humans have limits, like most animals, and when they're in a situation that is far too much for them to cope with, they will struggle in fairly universal ways. That doesn't mean the struggle is somehow their true self.
jesse and walter's chemistry is amazing. acting chemistry i mean!
You think this is bad ????? You are are in for a WILD ride Ladies.
If you need trigger warnings for this level of the show, you might not make it lol
Yall get a thumbs up from me for weathering the sheer anxiety of this episode. I've seen the series probably 6 times through and I'm still not okay watching it back on this one
I want a full Breaking Bad Diegesis musical - 12/10 editing
I've been following along as you guys watch each episode, but I just couldn't wait for your next review,. I ended up bingeing the entire series.
Would you have not watched the episode if there was a warning at the start?
Having warnings at the start kind of takes away from the shock of unexpected events, imo. If you know something like that is coming, when it starts you just think 'oh, here it comes', rather than being taken aback by how things unfold. Being made to feel uncomfortable is sometimes the point.
Warnings are so stupid to me. Needing warnings is even worse. If someone cant handle and adult show then they need to go back to cartoon network.
@@josephg.1.130just say you have no idea how the human brain works
If there was a warning about sexual assault would you have guessed that Walt would try to rape Skyler? I'm gonna say no for both of our humanities but holy shit warnings don't take away any experience from the show
Skyler became a very divisive character as the show progressed and I never understood it. The actress and the character is terrific.

“that episode was yucky” 😂😂
Nice reaction, i wonder in what state of mind you will be in when the series ends xD
Just so you know: anna gunn was actually threatened (incl. Death threats) in real life because she played skyler. It was largely because of people hating a woman like skyler, who did not fit into the subservient role of a supportive housewife (no matter the fact that walt cooks meth and constantly lies to skyler). I am curious to get you honest opinion about her over the series :) , and it is good you are not aware of this whole stuff, but keep it in mind, since people are going to be triggered ...
"Trigger warning" lol When did people become so incapable of dealing with stuff.
Lol yeah just get over it what you don't wanna see someone rape their wife you guys are squares
Actual fucking troglodytes in these comments
Some people have always been sensitive, it's just now we live in a society that is kinder, more accepting of peoples feelings and thoughtful of people's past trauma. That's not the bad thing that certain people like to make out. It's not weak. It's not shameful.
Why does it bother you that some people are more sensitive than others? Why would a notice at the start of a show to warn sensitive people or people who've been through similar bad experiences bother you?
You've just been told to mock and shame people, probably by right wing memes and talking heads. You don't even know why you're against it, you just repeat it.
You need to understand not everybody is a "tough guy" like yourself, or not everyone is so emotionally stunted to the point that violent, aggressive, and abusive imagery has zero effect on them.
Gotta love Hank man
We're about 1 year out from Ozymandias.

❤️🫶🏼 thank you
are there really 'trigger' warnings on content these days? I've never seen one..
Walt pushed too far, Skyler said no, he backed down and they talked it out and set realistic expectations. I dont see the problem, she still had a say at the end of it
Maple left ft Arianna right 💀
All they needed to do was hire a shady private investigator to follow and bug Tuco's places. Find out who his street level distributors whilst also keeping an eye on him making sure he didn't give the order to off Jesse and Walt. Pretty simple solution. People kept talking about how badass Heisenberg is but at the end of the day he was quite a pansy getting by by the skin of his teeth and most of the series with tons of setbacks.
Who tf says "trigger warning" unironically
Well consider that not everybody is cool with seeing depictions of graphic violence or sexual assault without warning. You don't know peoples' life stories. Things that are no big deal for you might induce very different feelings in somebody else. Shouldn't be that difficult to understand.

I love your guys videos, but seriously.. You need a trigger warning for a fictional show that’s rated for adult audiences? Maybe you should consider stopping the show here if you can’t handle that scene.
Why? There's nothing really like that scene again for the entire show. Different things affect people differently - you may be fine with seeing one type of adult content, but other types really bother you because of their similarities to things you've lived through.
@@emmab5370 My comment was more directed at the fact that there shouldn’t have to be a “trigger warning” for a show that is already rated M and has a viewer discretion warning. If there were to be a trigger warning for that scene, they should put trigger warnings for all the scenes involving violence/drugs as well. Considering those could be triggering topics for people.

Yeah, the Skylar scene I understand. I’m a dude and I hate that scene. While there’s nothing else like that in the show, the violence only gets more gruesome.
Offhand I don't recall anything in the show that would be triggering in the same way as the Skyler scene. There's certainly more violence coming but it's a different kind of thing than this episode.
I don't recall anything else quite like the SA scene in this show. The escalation of violence in the show is one thing, but that Walt/Skyler scene is pretty unique.
I would only add that the Walt/ Skyler scene Does fit in with the show in the sense that we’ll see other scenes of Walt struggling to process the conflicting emotions & adrenaline rushes running through him and choosing other awkward & inappropriate outlets leading to some truly cringe moments, but no others so unpleasantly sexual.
