Congratulations on your closing and the start of your new adventure. Thanks again for sharing your sites with us as well. It’s fun to see. Enjoy your videos. Have a great trip.
I've had stuff from Ikea delivered here in Italy for only $5 delivery (per order, not per item) - you can even order from the US and have it delivered in Italy as well, just select the store you're shopping from there in Turin.
So exciting. I am set to close on my place (in Umbria) in November. I managed to the codice fiscale through the US Consolate (in LA), via email, within 48 hours.
Congrats Mike. Can't say that Colorado isn't prettier with all the native trees, but Europe is different from a cultural standpoint. Especially the food and people. Awesome future. I going to Italy in November.
Thank you. Definitely two different cultures, but different landscapes as well. I'm looking forward to exploring both. Best of luck on your trip in November.
Mike, this is so exciting! watching every minute! Thank you for the update concerning shipping your motorcycle and issues you may have. Congratulations again on your Italian Grand Adventure!
You mentioned a few times about how weird it is to have a balcony off the bathroom. It is probably because the bathroom was installed in a room after the house had been in use for many years.
That is very likely. I doubt the house originally had 2 full apartments from the start. Maybe I could switch the window in the kitchen with the doorway in the bathroom. That would be a nice solution.
Excellent news 🎉 hopefully your codice fiscale will come through before you sign for the house. Here in Germany it was very quick for me, per Email, once the docs could be opened (had to send a couple of times, the lovely lady at the consulate had immediately responded to say she couldn't open them at first) I got it the next day 😁 So happy for you. Hope you have good tyres and wet weather gear, autumn is coming in with a bang next week!
Thanks. I still haven't heard from the consulate in Sam Francisco, but my realtor has an appointment in Italy if they fail me. The weather looks terrible starting today. Hopefully we can push between the rain. 🤞
Hey Mike, Rick from Ridgway here. We’ve been keeping up with your videos and my wife and I are both very excited for you. Curious, if there’s any issue with buying a bike in Europe, getting it registered and keeping it there? Any idea what you would get? I think you should go Italian, those guys can make some nice bikes.
There's no issue except you have to be a resident of Italy, which I'm not yet. I've been leaning towards a Honda Africa Twin. For sure I could get a Ducati or BMW, but I'm not a fan of Italian motorcycles and I don't want a GS. I'll shop around though.
We don't...have a closing date, lol ! My Italian lawyer got the villa deed documents but they were too old, in poor shape, impossible for her to decider. But she found a computer shop that scanned them, enhanced them to where she can work with them....she thinks !

That's incredible! I think IKEA and I are going to be friends. And for all you IKEA haters out there, I'll be discerning. Don't worry. 😂
Yes there is in Grugliasco, near Turin.
Thanks.
We will celebrate with you. That’s our anniversary 🎉
Thank you and happy upcoming anniversary. 🎉🥳
Congratulations on your new place! I wish you much happiness during your time in Italy! Thanks for sharing your journey with us all!
Thank you so much! ❤️
Congratulations!!!
Thanks!

Are you serious? I still haven't heard back from the San Francisco consulate. Maybe I need to try LA. 😂 Congratulations on your new place. 🥳
Exciting stuff!
Thanks!

Not looking good in the dolomites, snow and rather treacherous road conditions. Stay safe.
Congratulations! Will you be sharing the price you paid as well as any other expenses at closing?😊
I already have in several comments. You might have to look for them though. 😉

I built cabinets and I would use IKEA for myself for simplicity now that I’m retired
I agree completely. I've built 2 complete kitchens: boxes, frames, doors and drawers. IKEA kitchen cabinets are well made and bullet proof.
Go 2 days before to get the codice fiscale, just in case. If anythg goes wrong the day of signing you are in default.
I‘m happy for you. If you ever come to Weimar would be glad to have a coffee with you
That would be great. Grazie. 😁

Oh no. Well hopefully she can still make it happen. Good luck and keep me posted. 🤞
I believe it could only be 4 months to be allowed a foreign vehicle. For sure not 12 months. And they could confiscate it.
I've heard both, but I don't think importing my US motorcycle will be a good option. Better to buy a motorcycle in Europe.
@@aroundtheworldwithmike that is what I suggest
NOooooooo ikea.
I'll add your vote with Kuba and Lena's. 😂
