The information that is being presented is not that different from what I have heard, but the presentation is so fresh and the artwork is so appealing. It is nice to hear Prince’s voice because we just don’t get to hear it much. The sound is really great too, especially with headphones.

Funny how people give Mayte and her parents sh*t about “selling” or pushing Mayte off on Prince at a young age when Jill’s Mom did the same thing basically. Both were nothing but parents looking out on a “business” tip for their child.
Jill was already singing backup for Teena Marie when she met Prince. Mayte by her own words admits that her Parents pushed her to send a tape to him. And the Garcias do deserve to be called out, they talked a lot of trash about him, tried to sell his belongings, and put out a book; all of which he spent time blocking her from doing. Now, since his death it's all love from them?? I can't stand fakeness.
Prince did the same thing a lot of celebrities have and still do with his ex wife he started grooming her when she was a minor and her parents helped for the money no doubt and the same thing with Jill Jones but no one is putting blame on prince that type of behavior is what a predator does its been going on in Hollywood since the beginning and its wrong

I could be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure that Jill was of age when she was already singing background vocals for Teena Marie. Mayte was only 16 when her tape was sent to Prince. I could be wrong about Jill's age. If I'm right, that's the difference

He got a 3 album deal, had the chance to prove it and all those albums flopped. Had just ONE hit song and Prince wrote it. Cool to believe you're a front man but in reality he was just a side man. Nah.. i hear the same thing over and over again “andre” always “pc” saying prince took this & that .. ok he created a loop in a couple of songs.. so what..I can say for certain those songs wouldn’t exist w/o prince. His vocal range & quality range were awesome. I dint think any if them can compare. And...If it was a problem tell it to his face.. ask for some credit instead of holding onto crap or talking behind his back then on who did what. Its all peer comp & male egos. Prince had insane talent in melody/lyrics & then some .. smart and insanely focused to achieve all this. I bet It was probably easier doing himself to avoid petty ego crap & faster... maybe he thought everyone wld work well as a team since all started as friends. He had natural leadership too on top of that..someone had to have it.. TBH, I don’t think any of them wld be known or wld had any doors open so soon w/o him. So come on....its too late.

Definitely remember seeing Prince on SNL. During those days SNL would have all types of artist, so I was a just watching the show as I would in bed at 14 on a late ass Saturday Night and here comes this brother playing this punky rock/funk they were jumping around and acting wild. During this time the edgy music was coming out of London so I thought they were from England I thought, man if this could get popular.

It seems so. At 5:35 - "[Prince] knew a good idea when he TOOK it..." He seemed to use the people around him as starters, to give him a germ of an idea that he would flesh out alone later. Or maybe more than a germ.

Prince did not spend 38 years in the business taking ideas from others. Most of these people were work for hire and I wonder if some people could not handle it. Andre does not have a good voice.

Great point! The biggest proof is to be prolific on your own. They didn't even need to be as successful as him but if there's no similar genius in their own work, then it seems sus.
Andre had several albums and produced acts like Jody whatley / wendy & lisa has some amazing albums later on as well / there was always controversy about andre and certain basslines and songs this just confirmed

That was Pride. Andre Cymone saw Prince as an equal. The thought of working for Prince and neglecting creative control was more than dude could handle.
