- This is a quick review of the Gammon Percussion Drum Set Kit I received a while ago. Sorry if I'm a bad drummer. My suggestion is get some dampeners on Amazon for the toms, put a pillow cushion inside the bass drum kick, and if you don't like the cymbals as much as I do, you're just gonna have to buy new cymbals.
This is just a little update on what I've been doing lately. Sorry for the rest of you guys who want more videos of my other subjects, so honestly, I'll let you guys decide what I should post more of on my channel (in the comments below) and I'll see what I can do. I certainly know aerodynamic paper aircraft designs are gonna be ones I'll be posting (which I will be posting soon, I've just been working extremely hard to make it right)
i love seeing new people play instruments i been playing guitar for only 3 years and i still remember 2 weeks in haha i couldnt even strum a g chord your not bad for 2 weeks not bad at all i was looking to get this drum set to i just kinda wanna explore with drums thanks for the good review its not bad sounding for only 250
+Ryan Logan Ikr me too ive been playing since 2006 but i just love seeing beginners for some reason
I think with taught drum heads, they'd probably sound a lot better. I think it's just that they're thinner heads than a higher end set. But, replacing them would probably make them sound decent
I said the same thing 💯
What kind of trash can lids are those?
Jkjk it's just that stock crash hurts my ears a l'il bit...
I just bought this at a garage sail for $50 and it’s my first ever drum set and it’s working really well
Thank you for the review! I like how you did not change the heads of the drums or other stuff other than tuning! ;)
the adjustment tilter under the hi-hat is meant to angle the bottom hat cymbal to give you a "chick" sound as you close them. when its laying flat the air will act as a cushion, tilting it to the side pushes the air out as its closing giving you more definitive sound
I’ve been want to rant about these gammon “ drumset”
-feel like a toy not an instrument
-cymbals are crap
-Snare
But overall this was my first drum set and I was happy when I had it but then I upgraded.
Lol you can’t fix that
Buy cymbals and heads. You got a really good set
Finally, an actual good review of the drums! Out of all the ones on youtube I've seen, this is the only one that actually helped me decide whether or not to get these drums
+Jonathan Joo So did you get them or no? I'm thinking about getting this set for my son so he can beat around on something other than our wall unit.
I ended up buying a used set on Craiglist for a much better deal! I'd recommend looking around for a nice used set rather than a new cheap one!

+Jonathan Joo could that cymbal stand hold a 16 inch zildjian crash cymbal?
I have the same kit, and I had the same exact problems. I put a pig pillow and my bass and tuned it relatively higher and it sounds actully REALLY good. I changed a few drum heads and replaced and added new cymbals. You should try messing with the tunings a bit more and probably look at a few tuning tutorials. But thats just what I did. This probably won't help much any way if you do see this.
will that cymbal stand hold a zildjian 16 inch crash cymbal?
Definitely, I have a 20" thick ride on mine.
+cade shaw thanks
I actually have a gammon 5 piece drumset, but the only thing i'm lacking cymbal stands and cymbals! Really love it! I was going to sell it! My drums mean alot to me!
Hey! Awesome review for a good starter kit try putting the the snare closer to the base drum so it's right below the Tom and moving the hi hat in more it should help out alot keep drumming dude!
Some Evans coated drum heads and some Sabiens cymbals or Zildjians, and that drum set would actually sound great.Plus tuning. Drummeo is a great channel to learn from tuning drums
Great job, I would move the snare closer to you and in towards bass drum. If you don't want that weird hihat sound offset them
careful on some of the advice you accept, that being said......put a pillow or blanket in the bass drum.....tighten the whole set up / re position your self and the drums .move them around till they feel comfortable. move the toms closer together, your snare should sit somewhere under the tom. the hi hat , try loosening the nut that holds the top hat(don't put a pad in between..LOL). first you need to buy is a ride cymbal 20" or bigger. tap your finger while adjusting the tension rods to tune the drum heads, try to get as close to sounding the way you like( top and bottom heads). you can put small pieces of duct tape on the head to tune...better heads (etc. remo pin stripes ) will make the set sound alot better....get a new ride
Wow those cymbals suck....the drums aren't that bad tho
Chris Jackson tru
They are cymbals that come from walmart
@@Dad420 Sabian or Zildjian cymbals are better than these.
@Daniel Landando Buy Sabian or Zildjian cymbals. Those are way better.
I recently upgraded my cheap groove percussion kit with Remo Ambassador heads and two new Cymbal stands with a Pastie 20" Giant Crash and Pastie 18" Crash
And new 15" Pastie Hi Hat's and a Ludwig Speedking pedal and 4 Tom's and a second floor Tom
Weird overtones on the hi hat clutch are from the cymbals being flush and perfectly spaced apart, tilt the bottom one a bit so it's more of a clasp.
You gotta tighten up the bass drum and all the toms. Also dont know what you did to the hi hat but mine is perfect
i would recomend changing the heads and puting the toms closer to each other and changing the cymbals
watch setup videos, and build it from that
Great playing. You sound good so far. I love the red shorts and black socks ;-)
Marc Saunders FBI has been notified
those were some sick beats towrds the end
How did you tune this? It sounds nothing like mine
It doesn't have to sound like yours everone tunes it the way they like it
great review but my main purpose for me buying this is for practice if i hv a very low budget again great review
i have the adult kit version, the cymbals sound great.
you can get one with 5 toms and 4 cymbals kick and snare included for $900 (its by Sawtooth btw)
I'm along with anybody else this is the best review all the others are like 2 years olds with a flip phone camera and its pretty much just " uhhhhhh the drums came in a box ehhhhhhhhhhh they are in fact real drums ehhhhhhhhh they do make a sound when you hit them ehhhhh" thank you now i know what set to get :3 and my school has a set thats of great quality and yea its really the symbols that need fixing and tuning the drums thats all that it sounds like it needs :D
MrMastermizer They're called cymbals, not symbols. But how did that go?
Hey so I'm getting this set and in the pictures on amazon, the toms are not slanted, but in the review the toms are slanted and almost sideways. Can you adjust that??
TrevorClark_37 Yes they should be adjustable in terms of rotating them towards you.
TrevorClark_37 yes, I own it and im what u call a pro drummer
TrevorClark_37 so he slants them because he is new and can't do rim shots just yet
TrevorClark_37 I fully modded it with a sabian crash and splash
should i sell this for a pdp encore kit?
I put evans 360 heads on all drums and tuned them and put a pillow in the bass mic them babies and its radical ,,got new boom stands and Whuan and sabian cymbals it an ass kicker sounds pro
I have one and I tore it up so easy xD
The drums sound good, the only thing that should be upgraded should be the high hat and and the cymbals
Kick sounds good
I have a gammon and what i did for the hi hats i put a pad in the inside to make it sound better
August Almuna how?
Hey my friend, if you want better sound out of your high hats tighten that screw underneath the bottom hi hat. Hi hats should always be off center just a little bit so air doesn't get trapped in there. Keep on playing brother you will get better! I am 44 years old and have been playing the drums since I was 12. Also if you want to make your drum set sound a whole lot better get some Remo heads... Believe me you will thank me later!
Hey I am having some trouble to build the Hi'Hat stand
Look it up idiot
get someone to get the floor tom deeper its too high pitched but the drumset isn't shitty, just not great, im putting my drumset together with used parts because they are higher quality and cheaper
sounds good other than crash/ride symbol especially for the price
Don't listen to meanies & moronic amateurs. You are doing it for THE right 2 reasons. Fun & fun
guys how much money yo did for it? 300$ ?
You can always replace heads and the bass isn’t tightened down
You can take the drum kit to any music store and have them tuned
put a blanket in the bass drum or a pillow it helps the sound
nvm i didnt watch the video before saying that lol
Replace heads and add muffling to make the Tom's sound better
Drill holes in those hats. Make them real trashy
The noise that you hear on the hi hat is the spring try putting some wd-40 on it
hi hat problem is in the foot pedal back lash
IDK if that's your personal preference but the snare and hi hat seem a little far away. I recommend a UA-cam video on how to set up a drum set more comfortably
On the hi hat thats a air pressure da
I got this same drum set and the crash isnt that bad
Boy they are clapping together all hi hats sound like that
Just some REMO ambassadors, and zildijan zbts and thats gold, and that crash sounds like shit
you should keep the heads buy a new cymbals (don't throw them away) if you have the money to complete the set buy a second crash symbol
My dad bought me this today
IUA-cam sucks
ThunderAnt you better shut PlayStation hairline looking self. I was say my dad bought this drum set stupid
IUA-cam xD kool?
MJFanmades cheap asf
I think your problem with the hi hat is that there hiting on each other and makes a sucksoin
That's why it makes that noise because it sticks together from dirt and grime
I play reggae music and honestly cheap or not u just gotta learn how to tune then you'll be able to make it sound decent
Clean the high hat cymbals with cymbal fluid
3:37 all drum sets are like that.
Just take off your second spring on your pedal
The hi hat sound's aufoll
Still better than Lars
😂😂😂😂
Wtf only 2 weeks
The hi hats are cheap. The sound I’m pretty sure is from the metal bending warping the sound
the toms sound like barrels
Get dampening gels
get a new drum set man but keep the cymbals and hardware
Tune you're Tom's higher
The crash cymbal sounds so bad I'm about to puke...
lol church
Your bass Pedal is way too close to the bass drum...that is why it sounds dull. The high hat... your are not doing the pedaling correctly and hence the odd sound... The Floor Tom... you need to tighten with the drum key ... it sounds too loose on the head... The ride cymbal is too tinny sounding... perhaps it is also where and how you are attacking the cymbal with the stick...you want a darker tone generally... Other than that ... it sounds like a good begin or novice set
My dream m set was $200a and mine is better
you can say "kick", or you could say "bass", but it has to be one or the other, and it has to be followed by "drum"... IE... "kick drum" or "bass drum". Just trying to help, although I'm a little late.
why in hell would you by that kit and why wouldnt you save your money
Well he's a beginner and didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a set when he doesn't know if he even want to play them and be serious about them.
Owen Brown because name brand professional sets can cost 8,000 dollars and up
Owen Brown because name brand professional sets can cost 8,000 dollars and up
The toms are to lose
Those hats suck, i just replaced them with my zbt's, and i have the same shitty "ride"
man upgrade to something else man.. Such as Tama or anything else but that lol!...
Miserable set up... can't watch it.
omg this guy is so bad
but good video
Salahaddin Aissaoui Ouabdelkhal 2 weeks playing you idiot
Yuck!
boring
gg
