Need to have all the closed maps made in the editor with a market for you to trade with, or ban trade all together on closed maps I think. Some of these look winnable until they are collecting endless gold and you have 0 which to me at least, takes away a lot of the tension. Knew it was over about half way through when I saw your gold dwindle and they were casually throwing away 40 gold units at a time to suicide charge the onagers lol. Just think that specific advantage(on closed maps specificially since its much harder for you do have any play against the trade) is a little too much, even for the lowest elo players you go up against. Gold units are simply king.
I love michi. I'd love to take part in one of these games.

Love these types of videos Hera. Always very entertaining, especially the 2v6 ones.
If Hera gets a pro partner it's better to watch because they can exchange some strategies, and both teams can set the trade route too. In One against the world games, Hera is a fixed target, and has no strategies to escape.

So it seems like the amount of these sorts of games will only increase because of its popularity. So may I suggest some custom maps for this? Because it makes no sense that you only get a fraction of the map and its resources compared to your opponents. The map itself can remain the same, but the way the territory and its resources/relics are distributed could be changed a bit.
Were looking into custom maps as we speak due to youtube suggestions!

You have to use Koreans SO sometime, their minimum range team bonus is quite underrated. They are able to hit enemies just one tile away and that makes them really easy to micro and hit enemy units, even easier with SO:s in mass. It is crazy.
I allways do these little micro in my games and say “HERA” !😂 then I watch these and it really puts in perspective there’s levels to this game! 4 people at once is crazy 🤯🤯

some of those shots gave me a loud laugh 11 this was surprisingly close at some point, i thought this is the worst map imaginable for this challenge, but you were so close to nomading green, and he had ton of gold still in his base. if you managed to spread there fast enough, i think they are actually done. gg

On a map like this where u get a small spot to build for yourself try adding an a.i on your team but on easy or somthing just so that u have more access to resources and space in general could make it more fair but awesome match loved it, those onager kills on point

Edit: Also if you're 1v4 or in isolation, wouldn't not allowing trade carts be fair? If you can trade with DauT/Viper/Yo/etc then sure but it's free gold income from another source that you can't match. Obviously a 1v4 isn't meant to be fair but Hera needs some dubs.

Really fun match. Would be cool to see another one of these but with a rule where the team of 4 can't cut new paths themselves. Would be interested to see how much differently it plays out if you're able to focus everything on one push, instead of having to defend multiple fronts while pushing at the same time.
Have you considered playing these closed maps with the res set for higher?
I think the suggestions of giving you a neutral market or something feel a little out of the spirit of a true 1 versus scenario. But making it so you have 20 minutes longer lasting gold in your base (and they do too) would allow you to sustain that one big post-imp push that kinda fizzled out this game as you had to have seige at your base and couldn’t afford to push with a lot of it at the same time
Yeah, it felt like he was really on the verge but every castle or SO loss was just so costly without fresh resources.
HERA, please make the population settings higher for you. Ive watched most of your 1vs and that what the people want!!
You should try increasing the population cap in these games. Should help you a ton in early imp

With 6 on berries, as you mentioned in another video, would it make sense to place the mill one tile away? I know you did it in this video, but it just hit me, if it would be worth it in all games, less bumping at the start? Made total sense in this video, but often it's only 2/6 vils that can forest with no travel time. Curious about your thoughts.

For closed maps where the meta is to boom and play, it’s best if you add an easy AI to your team so you can trade aswell.

next time church in back with reliq, repair catapults with vils will save gold but take time... Good map but only you should have ability to cut woods... And small stone wall after first wood cut so you could hold cavalry...

Trouble with feitorias in a heavy fighting format like this is their pop hogging. To go up against 4 100+ armies, you couldn't really have more than two, but that's be such a slow trickle it'd barely make a difference.

Such a satisfactory game to spectate with the onager micro. What a massive shame you got such a bad unbalanced map. Especially since trade is already in their favour. Nertheless GG to them as well, such a nice game to see!
That yellow player is a bit of a Smurf I guess.
Not a smurf. I play in michi at around this level and I can easily get the same timings/resources as the yellow player because the build order in Michi is much easier as you can fully concenterate on your economy first (when building it up) and then only on army later.

I think the way to make it 'fair' (if that's possible lol) would be like a regicide or if you kill their starting TC they have to resign. Even if you crush one opponent, they can rebuild by the time you move on to the next.
Lack of gold/tiny map spot really crippled Hera here. Perhaps a neutral market or a more 'fair' michi where Hera gets half of the map would have helped?

Incase you get really close games you should make a rule that enemy markets are not allowed to be deleted
Would be cool to have you team up with 3 AIs on easy, against 4 intermediate players, that way you have the same map space, and ability to trade but you get virtually no help from the teamplayers so it's still a 1v4 in a strategic and warfare sense

Not just trade but spanish trade... Think the value that the SO had was worth more than any general power unit... if want equal map and resources but nothing else, can have three AI and cheats enabled, pause the game as soon it started and remove the AI players.

I think a better rule, not just for this map, is no trading allowed. That way you can eventually gold lock them through attrition by outtrading value units. If they have infinite gold you don't really have a chance if it gets late game.
Can you try something similar vs extreme ai? I really wonder how many of them the N°1 in the world can beat! I can barely beat one 😆

Or another idea would that you either get a begginer team mate you can train with, OR that the enemy has to build a market for you to trade with (and you get extra pop for the trade carts/cogs). Because that gold issue kinda ruins these games. They are so amazing and fun to watch.. until you run out of gold and they have spanish trade. Anti climactic for sure. I want to see the conclusion when you have access to your own trade.

Is it even possible to win 4 vs 1 on Michi? If they are not very early beginners, they will have trading which is almost impossible to get through, so you will lack gold sooner than later while four players just spam unique units and siege. Anyways, was fun to watch and amazing how long you kept them busy. Any other map you would've ruled.
I think a 2v5 or even 2v6, will be much more reasonable. Lack of trade really cripples your army in michi.
I think it is possible, assuming low skilled opponents, maybe like 600 elo and using some strong post imp civ like Magyars for hussar spam at front and cav archers in back, so starting gold would be enough, maybe.
Ibwonder if you could play against 4 but have one beginner on your team so you can have trade

When I saw you were playing 1 v 4 on Michi I thought you had a 0% chance because they can trade but you cannot. I wonder if you do it again in the future you perhaps have to ban trade.

Honestly i did guess that a pro vs 4 in this map is impossible mission.. i think here ideal would be 2 pro x 4 or more. Specially because you need market to survive now 1 alone in a long time spent in this map is just too hard.

Suggestion, I want the Team with multiples be forbidden from trading. Because if you all have to play with finite ressources, it should be so much better and more entertaining. When they have twice the pop and be able to produce their best units to the end it give a very unwinnable scenario. So how about that rule?

A rematch 1vs4 doesn't make sense here. Because even Arabia makes you struggle 1vs4. On Michi you have no access to early raiding. So, your opponents are almost fully developed by the moment when the battle starts. As soon as they set a trade you have zero chances to overturn that. In this particular game they could have eaten you much quicker if they focused on raiding your economy and focusing your siege, producing for that heavy cavalry, cav archers and adding some siege onagers, bombard cannons to hold your attack and put a counteroffensive later. The Ethiopian player should have produced shotels, that would be absolutely perfect against your composition. They are much better avoiding siege onagers and bombard cannons shots because of their speed, trading great with your halberdiers and destroying your siege at a close distance. At last they are great for raiding too. The Ethiopian player lost huge amounts of arbalesters from your siege shots instead. It's crazy for a noob to produce arbalesters en masse against a pro player with siege onagers having torsion engines.

Ya, Michi doesn't feel like a winnable map in this format. When the cutting begins you are already 150-200 vs 600-800 pop. More open maps will help a lot with early aggression.
