Couple things... 1 AWESOME to see some 510 content, you picked up a subscriber (I've owned and DAILY driven my 72 4 door for 18 yrs...also a dream car for me) ! 2. Don't be discouraged... no 2 of these cars are the same anymore anywhere in the world, and the 68/9 are also different from the 70+ cars... it was bound to happen. Hang in there... cheers!
Ah ha, nice to have you on the channel man, love to see some more 510's out there! Such a cool car!
15:49 This is exactly the way it is with me when I try to do anything. 😂
Good luck, I hope it all works out.
This was a successful Nate, still very enjoyable watching the wrenching.
Good luck bud, I feel your pain
You could feel the frustration of this project, hopefully, everything will work itself out!
Keep on working my friend
Nate youl get there keep positive
Good luck with your Datsun 510. My friend
Man, I'm a massive fan of what we called in Australia a Datsun 1600. I owned one and will definitely do another in a couple of years (although they are stupid expensive over here now). But mate, please put some stands under your car. Many an injury has been caused by a failing jack and if nothing else you'll save damaging your car when it fails.
Gotta love owning a Datsun....
The steering wheel went so easily this was inevitable LOL.
34:38 Bloody hell Nate look at the thickness of those weights 😂
💪
If it's any consolation, Nate, I was sharing your frustrations with this process. Those bloomin' wheel studs..! It is great to see the Datsun in your driveway, however. A major congratulations on that, at least!
Good work, sir. I eagerly await the next update!
I believe your issue is that this car had already been upgraded with the 280zx strut that was popular in the 1990’s. When you contact techno toy tuning let them know that you have 280zx parts and send them a picture.
They haven't been, it's already been explored
Sucks when nothing seems to work out as planned.
Always nice to see Jasper. ❤
Love these vids. Real world problems.
Keep the videos coming
Man looking like a unit.
Yesterday (after 3 bloody years) I got my 270 Z, its got issues but thats whats fun.
You should have got the brake kit from Mario Lozano.
No idea who that is and no, the kit works now. Any kit, would have had the same issues.
Good stuff
I’m curious Mr. H, what car channels do you watch?
So what happened dude? Was it down to the ordering process, like using the wrong model. i.e. accidently ordering the fixings for like a Nissan blue bird instead of a Datsun blue bird type of situation?. Did the supplier get it wrong? Do Thailand make the the cars a different way than China?
I think I know you're drama.
Having a 68 model means u brakes are different than the 69-72.
Techno toys whoever they are should have confirmed the type of brake and strut combo. Honestly put all u brake stuff in a box send them to mad dat are get him to set them up. There's just too many variants of brake and strut combinations.
Datsun are a tricky build but worth it in the end
Wouldn't it be easier to just get your original calipers reconned instead of going through all this
Probably not, because, what are the calipers if they aren't stock, how do you get parts, how will I get discs if they aren't for the stock hubs?
@@MrHVlogsMore well if you are stuck just want the car on the road easily, restoring calipers for these companies is pretty easy as cup and seals are just generic, they do it day in day out
o O
did you think a 60's datsun wouldn't be a project? looks like in good shape for 60's datsun tho, but still
Oh I knew there would be some issues, but watch the video, I don't think anyone would expect such intricate issues
@@MrHVlogsMore sounded pretty normal :D make a plan, check your model of whatever your messing with car, bike, whatever, check what the lists say you should get, make a plan again, order the parts, wait them, get them and.. make a plan again
😂
It's not your own fault, the information isn't readily available and your dealing with an unstandardized foreign '68 model of a Datsun 510...complications are expected but this was just wholey unfair. Lessons learned, I guess?
Anyway, I hope your frustration has since passed and you've recieved some good news in response to your email to the company that sold the kit. *_Sigh....._*
Just curious, but will you be installing seatbelts or be leaving as is
