Started watching this video just to learn alcohol markers. Ended up grabbing an old colouring book and listening to you through multiple videos. Found it really n chill just colouring whilst listening to you. Really inspired me to have a go at colouring as well as just drawing
I have worked with professional alcohol markers for a long time and learned how to use them in Graphic art school, this was a very nice beginner level tutorial on how to use these markers, You did a great job. Another tip for blending overlap lines if you do not have a blender marker is to take plain old isopropyl Alcohol and pour a little on a paper towel, let it evaporate a small amount, make a tip with it and do a dry rub over the lines to blend.
I've just discovered a whole new part of UA-cam I had no idea existed (and I've been a UA-cam fan for like, 15 years lol). My husband got me markers and a few coloring books a couple years ago to help me focus when my ADHD & OCD are overwhelming and I'm super overstimulated. It's been so helpful. I randomly decided to go onto UA-cam for tips and tricks because I finally got my first "big" marker set, and figured there were fun techniques and tricks I could try out! I don't have that 'eraser' marker in my own set, but I'm enjoying everything that I"m learning! :)
Oh my goodness. Thank you! I’ve been looking for basics for weeks. Other creators share vids on blending, shading, and highlighting and I’m just trying to learn how to transition from my crayola watercolor markers. Not trying to go from 0 to 100 😂. I also learned to color like you so my first alcohol marker attempt was horrid. The ink went over the edge and I didn’t understand how/why. I wish I found you before I bought my first set of markers. I got ones with the brush and chisel nibs. The brush feels really foreign to me. I’ll try the chisel nibs next, but I’m wishing I got a set with a fine liner and chisel nibs. Thank you for taking out the time to created something for the newbies.
I looked for many videos and none of them explained about painting without marking the borders. You helped a lot. I hope I will apply this correctly. Thanks ❤️
I don't know if anyone else mentioned this, but just cut the flaps off a box (the box the marker set comes in works great), and cut them to the length of the bag and slide the cardboard in between the markers and the edge on all four sides. It'll keep your markers standing up and not flopping all over the place. Saw that tip on another video, and just ordered these exact markers and it worked like a charm!
Also coloring too fast will leave it streaky too, you have to color fast but slow lol it’s weird. And if you want to fix where the ink went outside the line you can use the colorless blender OR you can use a white gel pen
You were absolutely fantastic. I have been coloring with color pencil and enjoy it. Markers seem a little faster and easier. I will enjoy venturing in this arena and learning more from you. Thanks for sharing.
great video Lauren i am the same as you been colouring for a bit over a year with alcohol markers and i have learned the same and similar tips and think this is extremely helpful for beginners it definitely would have helped me i have become so much better with alcohol markers and they are definitely one of my favourite colouring supplies 💜💜
This will be such a cool series, with all your wonderful tips - thank you so much for sharing this Lauren - you are definitely an awesome teacher 👋🏻🤗👋🏻
I was looking for a good basic video about and how to use alcohol markers. This tutorial is fantastic for a beginner. Some really great advice and information. Love that you started out with an easy coloring page. I am new to the game, a senior, and have been struggling with my coloring. I am about to purchase a set of alcohol markers and a friend suggested Kinspory markers. Do you ( or anyone) know anything about these markers? I've seen them on Amazon and they get pretty decent reviews for the most part. Like I said, I am just starting out with alcohol markers and don't want to spend too much on my first large set but don't want to be frustrated because they are such poor quality. Thanks again. I will be checking out Tutorial Park 2 soon.
Thank you, Lauren! Very helpful! I have used alcohol markers for a long time, but occasionally will still get streaks. Now I hopefully will be able to eliminate them. I love chisel tips and use them all the time now. I was leaning to heavily on the bullet tips and had to get the hang of how to use them effectively. Now they're my go to and I only use the bullet nib for small spaces. Thank you, again.
Hi .. new to your channel . I love this tutorial. I'm a new colorists and finding ways / technique to use markers ( I'm a pencil colorist and it hurts my hand) May I ask something if you may see it ( gosh my comment is far away from the date of your video , I'm sorry) I'm curios about the blender, when to refill it, are you using 70percent alcohol? Thank you..
Question how do you prevent streaks where rows of colouring overlap. Beenvtrying to figure this out for long time and nothing seems to work. No one else seems to have this issue sovwhat am i doing wrong?
A Very helpful tutorial. I need to embrace the chisel end. 😄 It's hard for me!...Your technique with the blender is awesome. I Like texture and that's a good use of the blender which usually only gets used for "erasing". Thanks! ...On to #2😄
New subscriber and new to adult coloring since July. I just purchased the same set of Caliart markers that you used so this is very timely. I have no experience with alcohol markers but was looking for something to use on backgrounds and large space rather than just my colored pencils. I think I'm a little impatient too! lol Really enjoyed your video and will watch the other parts as well.
Thank you for the tutorial. It is so helpful. It seems like the larger items sure do use up the marker juice. How long do alcohol markers typical last when using on one item to this extent?
Moving quickly and using the circular motions like I mentioned helps. Faces are hard bc you have to navigate around so many things. If I mess up I usually go over the skin with pan or palette pastels
Hi angel my name is sandra im watching u with your coloring book i have alot of coloring books im using my husband cell phone text me in my husband cell phone ok bye angel bye sandra u have a beautiful name bye

I actually like how the streaky pumpkin turned out, it looks 3d
I just found your videos in June 2023. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience.
Thank you!!!! I've never been taught how to color properly.
I looked for many videos and none of them explained about painting without marking the borders. You helped a lot. I hope I will apply this correctly. Thanks ❤️

I’m thinking I could repurpose an old, dried out marker and put alcohol in it for a blender. 🤔
Great information for the beginner.
Thank you Lisa! 💕

Succes la colorat
I’m sure this is very helpful for beginners!
Thank you Alicia, that’s the hope! 🤞
Thank you for the tutorial. It is so helpful. It seems like the larger items sure do use up the marker juice. How long do alcohol markers typical last when using on one item to this extent?
Hi Erica, I primarily use Caliarts and my original 100 set lasted for about 8 months. I do alternate between a few different sets.
I always struggle to colour faces with alcohol markers and always have streaks,do you have any tips regarding this please?
Moving quickly and using the circular motions like I mentioned helps. Faces are hard bc you have to navigate around so many things. If I mess up I usually go over the skin with pan or palette pastels
Lauren! Why did you make the thumbnails look all fall like with the pumpkins?? I am waiting very impatiently for fall - can't stand summer!
😂 girl, I’m ready for fall too!!!
Well hello friend!
