@ 6:32 and How did knuckles get all those blue spheres at once there was way more than what he walked thru. Yes, i am aware tht getting all the outer spheres turns them all into rings, but the path he took was not it. how did it happen? the same thing happened @ 31:41
My favorite part was in Flying battery zone 34:33. that cylinder glitch, just statically stuck like that floating through out the level then getting the invincibility video monitor, got me to laugh pretty good. 😆
Really surprising how knuckles' ability cancel his glide is used like an air-brake and optimize his routes. I held a few Knuckles world records (Lava reef, NTSC, I was number 1 for roughly 48 hours) and I never tried that utility.

Super late reply, but yeah, they set the "sprite layers" to always on top so that you can see Knuckles when clipping on the wall, which wasn't the case normally.

how do you determine what is the quickest way to finish a special stage? I notice sometimes you will complete a section by turning them into rings and then other times you will just have them all go red

I think it's just the least amount of turning. It's faster to jump over a bunch of rings if it means not having to turn 4 times.
