- On Friday August 23, 2024, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay announced that scorpion will be closing permanently on September 2nd. This news threw everybody completely off, including myself. These are my thoughts about Scorpions closure.

**CORRECTION: Scorpion was the second coaster ever made at Busch Gardens Tampa. I mistakenly said it was the first**
💚
I could see an RMC Raptor being put in place as Iron Gwazi was very successful for them and Raptors are cheaper and also have lots of thrills
It can happen, but I can also see either a high capacity flat ride or a flat ride package.

Scorpion was the second coaster,Python was first.I remember Python almost felt like a backyard Rollercoaster how simple and compact it was,but that thing was rough, worse than Scorpion!
Thanks. I literally just made a post correcting myself.
I won't be there for another month. I would have liked to get one last ride but I am not that upset about it.
Yea, I know there’s a lot of fans of the ride that would’ve taken the trip given they had enough of a notice.
Great take on this closing. I think they're planning another coaster to replace this classic Schwarzkopf. They dropped the 🎢 emoji before the sentence teasing "future thrills" in the press release.
@@gpcoasters7824 Sand Serpent closed in July last year and we got Phoenix Rising a year later. Makes me wonder if they’re going to do a repeat with Scorpion…
Very last minute. My visit is on the 9th :/
But i already got the credit though.
@@PiplupJames Yea it may not be a coaster I’m super fond of, but it’s always sad when a coaster closes. 😢
Actually Scorpion was the second coaster at BGT following The Python. I do have a lot of good memories of the ride but I do agree that it has reached the end of it's run. I also agree that the park should do more to celebrate a fun part of BGT history.
TIME FOR A GIGA!!!!!!!!!!
@@suncoasterstv6512 Thanks for the correction. Makes me wonder if we’re gonna get any news about a new attraction soon…
@@CoastersTravels I haven't been out there since Sand Serpent closed. I'm gonna have to try and get out there next week and give it one final run. As for a new attraction. I think we might see another family ride, or maybe a dark ride(HINT HINT BGT).
I’ll be there next Monday .
