TPR be like, "they're making room for a giga."
Exactly. So sick of every prediction being a giga. That’s on most channels. Oh they mived a tree! Must be a giga!
I think it was unbelievably stupid to get rid of Scorpion but it’s honestly kinda funny seeing people think they’re going to replace such a little plot of land with a giga coaster lol
It seems like there isn't a more request type of coaster in a specific park than a giga at BGT.
@@Howlingburd19 No one thinks that they would just be using the Scorpion footprint for a giga. It's a space issue, gigas have a big footprint and need a lot of room, BGT already has room but they may need more and will have to remove Scorpion. Also how is it stupid to remove it, it's been in the Florida sun and under the elements for years (keep in mind BGT doesn't have seasons it's open all year). At this point keeping Scorpion around is a safety issue it needs replaced by something.
hey what trashcans were moved? we need to update our giga layout....
They better not scrap that coaster, it is way too good to be destroyed.
Maybe Indiana Beach will buy it.
@@Daytonian45431 For the train alone! No seriously, they could use it at Clementon Park or even Niagara Amusement Park.
@@Daytonian45431I said that right away lol
@@Daytonian45431lmao😂😂
I bet you anything Gene Staples bought it and is sending it to Niagara or Clementon
It's a separate project. Out of what I heard Busch Gardens trying to build three coasters by 2026. Three coasters in 2 years is going to be wild... This and the giga appear to be separate projects, which, given my own information, will be near Jungala
🧢
@@AuburnFanSince2010 I have to double check on this because it's what I heard. I can say that a coaster is going to be built near where the sinkhole was, and rip Kumba come 2026
@@thedude4063 Yes but I heard Kumba has 3 more years and that it may close at the end of this year for an extended down time. Maybe fix Kumba and add to it to make it into a giga. I heard to watch the log flume next.
@@BuschGardensJunkie Been told since 2022 Kumba is getting replaced by a launch coaster (It being a separate endeavor). It's still going to be crazy seeing all of this get built in such a small amount of time...
@@BuschGardensJunkie You guys need to calm down lol
Sand Serpent was a no brainer, but Scorpion is not one I wanted to see leave the park. I hope it gets moved somewhere else.
Good thing I’m going there on Tuesday I can get one last ride on my first looping coaster lol
I’m going tomorrow and I can get a ride on the coaster that’s leaving maybe.
I visited in 1982. My 5th coaster. Loved it. Schwarzkopf classic
I remember when this coaster and long gone Python coaster were the two big names. I worked a summer there in college and the employees would ride test the vehicles every morning.
Don’t forget the phoenix, the original big 3
@@johnnyodom6915 Of course. Let's throw in the late great Rhino Valley!!!
I was not expecting them to remove it at all. Very shocking for me and most likely a lot of other people.
Especially after BGW just retracted their 46 year old Arrow looper because of how iconic it is. Nessie does have the only interlocking loops, which are iconic by themselves.
Saving the budget for a kumba refurb I bet.
@@bricklandfilms Scorpion isn't nearly as iconic as Nessie though
Is Scorpion headed to Indiana Beach?
Lol
It might end up relocated to Clementon Park.
It’s getting skyrush’s old trains
No, it’s not a broken terrible ride
@@memesrct_official or Niagara Amusement Park
Indiana Beach better be buying those trains!!! Or maybe just replace with that ride
I hope Scorpion gets sent elsewhere. This would be a good low cost addition to Lost Island even while they're getting the Raptor. But any smaller park would be nice. For example, in my region I'd welcome it to Lake Winnie.
I finally got out to Lake Winnie last year, and I loved it! Left my friends and lapped Cannon Ball 30 times or so. Lol. Love that idea for relocation. That would be so cool.🤞
Would fun spot atlanta potentially be in this conversation? They have a lot of land there and really need a tamer option in addition to AF1. Plus, they don't have anything with inversions.
@@kevingeeter8172 I'd be on board. That said, I think that place needs a little time to decide what it wants to actually be. Is it attempting to become a full fledged amusement park? I think they might be a bit hesitant after their last investment since it didn't really change the park's identity for the region but it cost a pretty penny.
BGT is my home park. The park has already been approved by the FAA for use of a 310FT Manitowoc 888 crawler crane. Additionally, a number of new survey markers have been popping up in the closed Tree Top Trails section of Jungala (where the work walls are), there are also several within' very close proximity of Kumba's cobra roll near the bridge and markers have also bugun popping up in and around the retention ponds as well. The new coaster is not a small project by any means and will follow more of an out and back L-shaped layout along the West and North ends of the parks border from and returning to Tree Top Trails and utilizing space that is still available behind Tigris, the retention ponds and land behind Congo.
Are you telling me the giga is finally making its WWE debut at BGT?
Could also be for tearing down falcons fury. Gia is more likely.
*Giga
@@awdw2011 Would they really get rid of Falcon's Fury? That ride is only 10 years old! I've yet to ride it - not really a fan of drop towers and when I was interested in riding it, it's closed due to local wind speeds being "too high."
@@CoasterDad86 at Busch gardens Williamsburg they closed down their drop tower that was only 10 years old. Also like you said it is often closed and they could replace it with something more financially efficient
They could get a custom RMC single rail coaster and that would do wonders
Or a Wild Moose
They tore down the wild mouse
a single rail would not be good for bgt because of the capacity, the lines would be atrocious especially given the bad operations
They could also benefit from an indoor coaster.
@@derpvazquez7692 And new owners
Thank you for always reminding us to be positive and smile. Means a lot and is something we often forget to do.
i first saw this on coaster studios's patreon, they have a chat place. and somebody said, scropion is closing on september 2nd. i was stunned.
I went to BG Tampa last year for the first time in 15 years and I expected Scorpion to be a dud but I wanted to check it out anyway. I was surprised just how great it was and it ended up being one of the best surprises of the day. The news that they're getting rid of it really makes me sad, especially since I'll be back at BG Tampa (hopefully) in October and I will miss getting to ride it one last time. I wish they would just re-locate it. It's still a great ride.
Awwe, I liked the Scorpion during my only visit there so far 😢.
Sea World continues to tiptoe around what this park needs. Iron Gwazi as perfect. A giga is now the necessary follow-on.
DO IT.
When they announced Iron Gwazi, they also announced Tigris as a filler till Gwazi opened. Maybe a raptor in Scorpion's location as a filler until a giga is built a year or so later.
If you consider the unused games, prize storage areas, and the little maintenance shed behind scorpion you could fit a really nice single rail RMC there once scorpion is removed. I don't think I would be so upset if they replace scorpion with an RMC similar to Jersey devil. Me and my son will be there in custom-made t-shirts riding it on its last day of operation. I've been riding scorpion for over 30 years. I love that ride.
I think it will be a straddle coaster OR a staggered seating B&M hyper.
Really need another low capacity coaster?? No point of a hyper with mako an 90 minutes away.
I swear if BGT gets a giga, BGW better get something huge so they get some equal love.
They don’t need anymore. They already are getting enough love
BGW gets a LOT more love than BGT so I think this is fair
@@frankmichalski157 I agree to this mostly. I should’ve put a little more context tho, I was really just talking about iron gwazi and the giga. 🙂
Just visited BGW again. They get LOTS of love. Way more flat rides than BGT. 3 water rides to BGT’s 2. An indoor coaster. Way better theming.
They got the Bigger B&Ms. Apollos, Alpengeist, Griffon.
BGT NEEDS the love.
@@Cheezbat Also completely agree. I should've put more context into my original comment cause i really just meant Iron gwazi and the giga. Everything you said in that reply i completely agree with.👍
Florida is LONG overdue for a Giga, hopefully they'll finally pull the damn trigger.
Especially with Disney and Universal dominating the state, you gotta stand out and offer something unique that they have NEVER offered.
True, but keep in mind that neither Pennsylvania nor California have a giga so it's not like it's some sort of automatic thing that any state with a great park collection gets.
Michigans Adventure just purchased The scorpion 🦂
what? are you serious?
Your lying
Are you serious
No they didn’t Lol
My home park does not purchase things.
My daughters 2nd looping coaster was Scorpion, after she rode Cheetah Hunt.. Which was greatly out shadowed by her 3rd which was Iron Gwazi.. My first looping coaster was Jet Scream at Six Flag St Louis so it was nice my daughter got a very similar experience for one of her firsts. I would love to see it relocated, and its design would make it easy, but its pretty old and has been in operation 365/year most of its life so I am sure its near the end of service life.
Bro I’m so sad this coaster was so fun and so intense
Yea the positive gs from the loop are crazy
I think it is connected to the Jungala project and I think you’re very close with the third drawing, but there are markings right behind the Kumba cobra roll. That has me thinking that the lift hill will go more of a northern direction closer to Kumba and kind of have a T shaped layout behind Congo River Rapids, and then come back to the station.
This makes the most sense because they could technically build another roller coaster in the Jungala area of the park and have room for it to be pretty major as well.
Noooooooo! Why remove a coaster in a park with ~400 acres? It pains me to the bone when these classic coasters get "phased out." I understand maintenance issues and costs, but I'd like to see the preservation of historic coasters be exhausted by all means. Heard Indiana Beach is in need of a decent Schwarzkopf...😢
A giga would be awesome!
I’d like for scorpion to be relocated to bgw or any other seaworld park, or at least put the ride on sale, genuinely looks like a really good and zippy little family coaster
bruhhhhhhhh I was in line for scorpion and it shut down 😭😭😭 never gonna get that credit
🫡
Your not missing out. It's not that great. (people will be so mad at me saying that)
@@johnathonlea184 anything for the cred
I didn’t cry over python. That was rough. Didn’t cry over Sand Serpent. It was also rough and hand-me-down.
This one though? Scorpion is a Schwartzkopf classic. Still smooth, still amazing.
This was my first real roller coaster. I remember being a kid and scared to ride it because of the loop. After a few years I got brave enough to ride it. Lots of personal feelings attached to this ride. Really sad to see it go.
A good replacement that nobody is talking about is a dark ride or an indoor coaster like Darkoaster. It would be good for the park because the park doesn’t have any indoor rides and it would be nice to get out of the Florida sun.
The Scorpion didn’t even take up that much room 😢. I loved its classic ride quality.
If they end up putting in some flat rides, I wouldn’t mind a Pirate Ship / Sea Dragon, Music Express, enclosed themed scrambler, and an enclosed Wipeout (similar to Dante’s Inferno from the defunct MSAP). That would make for a good family mild thrill ride area
scorpion was my first rollercoaster i really do hope they don’t even tho they might 😕
RMC Raptor incoming, called this back in January, said scorpion was next to go and single rail was going to be erected 🎉 let’s go
Rode it back in 2023 and it was meh, good for families and young kids, but I honestly don’t really find the old Schwarzkopf looping coasters all that good (been on SooperDooperLooper and Riddler Mindbender), they’re mediocre for me. So I’d love a Giga, or even a solid hyper added to this park. They’ve got a shortage of floater air time coasters, so it would be perfect. 🤞🏻
I agree, feel the same way about old Arrows. There are a few exceptions but it seems they are loved because of nostalgia and not the actual ride experience.
imagine if this guy made ONE logical prediction video that was realistic in some way
So sad to see this legend being torn down 😭. Amazing coaster and packed quite the punch for how small it was. Glad I got to ride it one last time earlier this year. R.I.P
I just started getting into coasters 2 years ago, so every time i get news about a classic ride getting removed that I've never had the chance to check out i get a bit bummed lol :(
smart decision. Always felt scorpion and sidewinder were the armpits of that park. kumba lives! Next thing to so, Stanley Flume.
If Scorpion has to go, please sell the trains to Indiana Beach for the Triple Loop. Cars without shoulder harnesses would save that ride, and Scorpion could live on in a sense.
Heartbroken bro. One of my favorite rides of all time.
The Scorpion is in my personal top ten coasters.
What parks have you been to?
The coasters foot print is so small I can't imagine it needing to move to place anything big there
380 foot T Rex in the works
I can't believe BGT held onto this Schwarzkopf rattletrap since 1980...Being as it's a rare classic, I'd like to see it moved elsewhere as opposed to it hitting the scrap metal pile. Busch Gardens needs a good non-inverting B&M hyper coaster....
They won’t do it with mako nearby. Plus they have 2 200 ft coasters
The giga isn’t coming until 2026. And it’s gonna be in Jungala. Not where scorpion is. I’ve known about the giga a few years ago
Great layout insights!!
I honestly didn’t expect this. I don’t love the ride but I remember it being pretty fun. I just hope they put something really awesome in its place
Didn’t like this much but I’m still pretty surprised
Kumba is also showing its age and I haven’t seen them run more than 1 train recently even on busier days. I’m sad to see Scorpion go (my first coaster), will be sadder to see Kumba go (got to ride it in previews because I was related to someone in the media), but I think that’s going to end up being the space maker.
My home parks are Hershey and Great adventure and both of them have a pretty good chance of getting a giga
Iron Gwazi was built in 2019. It was finished when I was there on Christmas Eve that year. There was a Christmas tree at the top of the lift hill.
Honestly Scorpion should’ve been gone a long time ago. Now is this new ride scheduled for 2025?
It makes me glad that I chose to spend time inline to ride it last year when I was in the park. I wonder if they are going to junk it, sell it or relocate it. I hope they don't junk it because Schwarzkopf coasters are getting more rare everyday.
A giga coaster doesn’t have the same weight as it did years ago yet it costs a fortune to build. Falcons Flight kind of ruins everything.
Sell it to Indiana Beach
NOOOO Scorpion please stay with us😭😭
A friend of mine works for the company. They said this coaster removal is paving way for a “major coaster” in 2025 and Jungala construction has a part in it. They are hoping to have it completed before Epic opens.
While a giga would be cool. I think Pantopia should be that intermediate land for the kids too small for big coasters but too big forbthe sesame street rides. Pheonix Rising was perfect for that, now add another traditional family friendly coaster there and they will be cooking. Its a perfect spot, you got food, alcohol, carnival games, and a thrill ride so a fanily could spend lots of time in that area, which is usally barely filled.
Terrible news. And screw them for only giving people a week to ride it. I love this ride. That low to the ground helix is amazing
It does seem like they were getting ready to build the giga, since they filed a permit for a crane that was over 300 feet tall and apparently a "structure" towering 310 feet tall was going to be erected with this crane. If that doesn't scream giga, I don't know what does. Strangely however, the crane never came in and the permit expired ... the crane was to be positioned where the RC trucks area and boats where and the boom of the crane would face towards the Chic-Fil-A area just sitting in between the pathways leading up to where the walls have been erected. It's possible, they had a last minute hurdle, maybe something that needed to get approved, so it took a little longer than usual and then the pandemic happened. I think now would be the time to build this massive project. I have been visiting the park every Sunday to look around and see what's happening and yes, something BIG is in the work because they are laying down survey markers and they have already started cleaning. Before the giga can be built, a lot of demolition must take place, this will probably happen in phases and it will be very slow moving ... I don't think we will see any major construction work until at least the late summer of 2025 but if they really want to be prepared for the opening of Epic Universe, they will have to move like hell to begin construction in January and open the ride in Late march.
Hmmm I thought we saw a permit for a 310 foot crane. So whatever they are building is less than 310 feet...
I was just there last week. I would have rode if I knew it was closing. It was my daughter’s first ride with a loop. Couple years ago there was a situation the ride went from 42 to 48 inches due to a ride situation. With the new ride next door In phoenix rising it was not needed. Still a loss it was decent but overall probably a positive.
Would bgt get a straddle coaster like dark coaster?
They would have been smarter to announce this a year in advance instead of two weeks. Could have leveraged the news for an entire season of people heading there for one more ride.
Maybe Indiana beach will buy it they seem to be collecting these coasters
This came out of the blue. I don't ride it when I go to BGT but I hope it is relocated somewhere. It seems like it could be a good addition to a small park. I agree , I think they are building another coaster. I think I saw someone say they have construction going on further out toward Kumba as well. Could it be a giga then 🤔
Hopefully Indiana Beach or Lost Island saves it
I doubt Indiana Beach will buy it since they just got a Schwarzkopf, All American Triple Loop. I could see Lost Island buying it though.
The people who think they would really sacrifice such a small plot of land for a freaking giga coaster 😂
RMC Wild Moose coaster
This park already has a hybrid track RMC. If they wanted another RMC to replace Scorpion, they should go a Raptor.
I would like to see them do a giga cause it can work in the park. However I would also like to see a flat ride package for 2025, in the package I would like to see a Zamperla Nebulas, and a Giga Discovery. But I am sure as hell fine if the giga somehow gets announced for 2025. I mean that's what happened with Fury 325, but I feel like the B&M track should be at the park.
Honestly don’t get why BG isn’t making dark rides for us to escape the Florida heat
While it's never easy to get rid of a coaster. But it necessary, especially if it's an older model where parts are not easily available.
I do think a BGT Giga if it happens makes sense, so it considers the coaster capital of Florida.
But if they need to get another major coaster, they need something without inversions as all major coasters have 1 inversion, and the ones without one are more on the smaller family size. So, a BGT Tampa makes the most sense. Hopefully it happens.
Rip never got to ride it
Quite a shame to see Scorpion go, but I do think it could be relocated to Rye Playland in New York. They haven’t gotten a looping coaster since their Vekoma Coaster Whirlwind moved to Knoebel’s in the early 90’s, so Scorpion could potentially fit there.
As for what could replace Scorpion, I could definitely see the station for a B&M Giga being built there. However, I thought I’d add my little twist on the potential layout of the ride. I’m thinking instead of the usual out-and-back layout, it could use a twister layout similar to that of Raging Bull at SFGAm, but on a much larger scale. I could also see it being the first ever Giga to include a non-inverting loop, which would be the tallest at around 150 feet.
I definitely see a giga coming by 2027
I’d rather want a B&M Hyper.
Staggered seating??

Brandon I hear rumors that Stanley falls is on the chopping block too. Any chance they are combining the two with a new water coaster???
I hope not
It's going to be world's tallest Wing Coaster by B&M........
Scorpion was my very first coaster I ever road
You look way to much into a basic PR announcement. Its really not a big deal removing this ride. Its ancient in terms of coasters at the park at almost what 45 years old? Its time to let it go. I feel like anything every park does there's a video that a giga is coming. Knotts Berry Farm mowed the grass......GIGA PROJECT!!!
My thoughts exactly.
Aw no did he share his thoughts on a topic? Really sucks doesn’t it
And not only that, alot of parks no longer have the funds for a giga. Covid economy and such to blame.
I mis my absolute favorite park. Excellent all around
If they are going to do the giga the time is now. With epic universe close to opening it seems its now or never. Was planning to go for the 1st time early next yr but i may wait until this project is announced to see if they do it or build something else
Most people kept thinking that Kumba would be the next coaster to get removed. I wonder why this coaster wasn't obvious considering how they've been removing their most outdated and least popular rides these days.
The removal of scorpion came out of nowhere
JUNGULA IS WHERE THE GIGA IS GOING!
I seriously hate the removal of Scorpion. yeah, we need to allow for progress, but Schwarzkopf's are more and more rare these days. Scorpion is still a great ride too. Sad to me. Six Flags over Georgia refurbed mind eraser and that;s what we should be doing imo. IT is what it is I guess, but I hope Scorpion ends up somewhere else so we can still enjoy it.
Dang a Giga to go with Iron Gwazi
RIP Scorpion 😭😭😭😭
I would not think that they would move the exhibits.
I am shockt i hope tey Replace it with a Gerstlauer infinity coaster it can bey compact to fit in the scorpion plot of land and it is fun all ages what scorpion also was
That's a shame that Scorpion's getting removed, that was a good first looper for kids. Plus it was a classic, always hard to see a classic go. I'm very confident it's gonna be relocated somewhere though.
But the problem is that the coaster is 44 years old and the manufacturer is defunct. Part for it are definitely not easy to find.
@@jarretstroud1842 That's fair but it's still sad to see it go. If BGT isn't interested in maintaining it anymore, that's fine but at least relocate it lol.
They could be doing something like hyperyia
Such a shame they are removing it and brings the park down a family thrill coaster with a 48" height requirement. Hopefully they add a new coaster to replace that category soon
Well Busch Gardens Williamsburg never used there concert polvillion like Hershey doing
I'm extremely sad. This may be an old ride but it was still an amazing one. This was my first big coaster also Python but this was the better of the two tbh. Was hoping to get to ride it with my kids as they got older and maybe see it hit 50 years in the park. Alas it won't happen now. Literally a two week notice even after 44 years is not enough imho. My hopes are they remove Stanley Falls and add a dark ride that is a launched flume coaster in the place of both rides. They would have enough room to really go all out and make something unique for sure.
You all said this past May...
