class of 1986 here. this was my 2nd concert, spring of 1984, Bon Jovi opened, had never heard of BJ, sounded like a gay band. Scorps were great even in the nosebleed section. A few weeks before this concert was Van Halen. My ears rung big time!
yes, I k now bj is not a band a gays. the mae sounded gay at the time. of course now that he came out to support Hillary, I see that jbj is a liberal loon. oh well.
mave dustaine I just wish JBJ and Springsteen would have just not gotten out there on stage with her and voiced their support. They certainly had every right to voice their opinions. Just wish they would have said no thanks, not getting in the political arena. Yes, politics and this campaign got very ugly and divisive. I won't argue that. Clinton was desperate and tried to use them to reach that type of audience, she couldn't connect on her own. Let's end the political discussion. Both jbj and bs have great music, not debating that at all.
I was fortunate to spend the night with the Scorpions during this time after a show in Boulder, Colorado at the Hilton Harvest Hotel. Being a professional acoustic drummer for many moons myself it was truly an honor and a blessing to spend quality time with my favorite band.😊
I saw the Scorpions on their "Blackout" Tour. That was the album BEFORE this one. '82 Who opened for them? Iron Maiden "Number of the best tour" Mega who?? Never heard of em. Those two albums were released within a month of each other. Ticket had no seat number. Get there early, get a good seat. No seats on the floor. Standing. If ya wanted to go up to the stage, ya just walked up there. We didn't know what a mosh pit was. We just headbanged. One thing gone is the sea of 80's hair, headbanging to a jam. When the lights would flash on the crowd it looked like a sea of waving hair in unison. Quite the spectacle. No cost to park. Ticket was $7.50. The show was phenomenal. You ain't heard loud.. Oh, we could smoke too. In the building. Lights off there were no smartphones. Bic lighters man. Even people that didn't smoke had the lighter.
Yeah I saw that tour too, first concert in my life, pretty much blew my mind. Girlschool opened the whole thing lol and pretty much got boo'd off the stage, silly girls what were they thinking.
You nailed that description bro! Been to hundreds of metal concerts starting in the late 70s all thru the 80s/90s & Im slowing down a little in 2020! Im 58 & yeah i lived thru all that great shit! The tunes the babes the big hair along with a little alcohol & substance abuse! Wish i had a freaking time machine!
The Scorpions helped make the early-mid 80s Awesome! Totally Awesome! 85 was, by FAR, the best overall year of my life. Remember how computers were all the rage, but they never once mentioned, computers would track and spy on, your entire lives.
1982- Judas Priest - Electric Eye. One of the greatest guitar intros into a song ever!
The zoo 1st
This was cool...took me right back to the 10th grade...played the absolute hell out of that Blackout cassette...sounded killer in my lowered 84 Nissan lil truck.....Lil Trucks Unlimited....dam..those were fun times!!..))
Hands down my favorite Scorpion song. They are such great performers. One of the best concerts I’ve ever seen.Sound great live.Miss 80’s Metal!
Agreed my favorite band and I seen them in 84 or 85 Love at first sting tour bon Jovi opened up for them scorps put on the best performance I've ever seen and I've seen alot of concerts
Good song. My favourite of theirs is As Soon As The Goodtimes Roll. My life description it is.
Fast Cars, Rock Stars, and Fast Women 🤘🏻 The Best of Times!
La mejor época de mi vida
@@javierpasquariello8227 it really was 😉
When I was little boy I saw this video when it was in its initial run and when i saw Rudy with that damned flying v I was hooked. I have about 25 flying Vs now because of him and the Scorpions' kickass music.
That's cool. Thanks for sharing, we all have a couple 3 classics , I know I do. Back to the tunes...
Will always be one my favorite bands.
German metal ❤
MAN! The joy emanating off the band's faces brings me so much joy. And that guy towards the ending pumping his fist and mouthing "big city nights" is my spirit animal! God Bless the 80s! Gen X for lifeeee!
Damn! You can tell these dudes had FUN!! Great tunes, HOT CHICKS! And after parties that are legend today! Time machine anyone?
🤟😃🤟🎸🎸🎸
I have a tardis.
80s music, 80s women. The whole time was great. 80s style, life may be better than what we have now.
saw them 2 times...soooooo loud and spot on..they blew the roof off the place...
they were touring with acdc...party
I only slept 3 hours yet this video and song reenergized me !!🎵🎼🎶🥁🎸🎤💕
And WHY ? Only 3 hours hmmm

@Justin B most likely !! 🤘🎸 have a safe week !! 🙏☀️☀️
Thing is, Klaus Meine has a voice that cuts through like a trumpet. I saw them in Nashville around 86 or 97. They were excellent.
"You see these microphones....? We're doing a live recording tonnnnnnnnnight!" Scorpions live is phenomenal.
was there ever such an awesome time to be alive? thanks for the memories scorpions!!!!!
I get goosebumps every time I see this video because I miss the 80s so bad. I feel really bad for the teenagers and younger adults of today that arrived too late to the party.
They can’t party now without shooting and fighting because everyone now is unshakably self centered.
but they have gadgets anyway
😢 Sad Scorpion news...
Farewell James Kottack, drummer for the cosmos.
Long live Rock N Roll ❤
One of my room mates in Germany partied with the Scorps in a bar in Heidelburg. They were really cool and gave him an assload of autographed swag.
Underrated guitarists the whole band
those 80's baby!
Bikini's, Big hair, Killer Camera Poses and Good Jams keep a Big City Up at Night.
Feel the Scorpion Sting - in twenty Nineteen ;)
I was a US Infantryman stationed on the DMZ in South Korea in the mid 80's. This band got Me through some very tough times, thanks

Rudy on that flying V
Awesome band. I saw them 5 times. Those guitars, Klaus's vocals, the rhythm section. Just gets your blood pumping wwwwoooo. Love it to death.
Quite likely ONE of the best guitar duos of the late 70's and 80's. Talk about complimentary playing.
@@rikavalos Absolute German Metal Precision. I lived in the country and couldn't wait for Big City Nights! Soaring riffs!
The Shankner’s Rocked👍🏻
I agree, but why have you emphasized the word "one", that seems a bit odd?
@@Hologhoul Why odd? There are several that are amazing in my opinion - Wilton/DeGarmo, Tipton/Downing as other examples for instance, but there are many others. Again, in my opinion.
@@rikavalos I was thinking you meant "one of THE" best duos. But anyway, I'll also add in Warren Di Martini and Robbin Crosby. And obviously Angus and Malcolm Young.
BIG SHINY BIG SHINY KNIFE!!!!!!!
Why couldn't I have been born in the mid 70's so I can enjoy the 80's? :'(
Great days.... Long before I-phones, GPS and constant Social media.
You would have had the time of your life! I know I sure as hell did! God I miss those days!
you didn't miss much.
What a loser Darren! You have to have been a total stiff not to enjoy the 80'S. Great women and good drugs
Man, are you twisted. You actually think if you like Slayer or Metallica that you're going to hell? C'mon, ask any preacher, priest, etc. That's ridiculous. Plus, we were talking about the 80'S. That decade ended 37 years ago. I am sure Jesus loves music too. Look up dancing and celebrating in the Bible. If you were a good Christian, you wouldn't be judging other people.
FUCK!!!!!! I MISS THE 80's!!!!
+UA-cam Renegade That's cool. Great music never dies. Keep rockin' !!!
I was fortunate to be a teen during this time. The music, movies etc. Although rock better in the 70's.
wow you guys are lucky:) because todays music sucks and thats in every genre.i which i was in that era but i was born in the 90's.
Dad Rock Mic drop!
wesley callihoo, rock on but needs more cow bell.
Seen them monsters of rock in Indianapolis , one of the hottest days of the year and they came through like the great musicians they are. Thank you SCORPIONS
I remember in the early-to-mid nineties how there was this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that said that we had essentially left the best decade of our lives behind.
The 80's were full of debauchery and skirt chasing. The 90's brought Sex Trophies and the responsibilities they produced. I'd do the 80's again!
i'm 14 and the scorpions are my favorite band
You have a very good taste. Congratulations from an 60 years old german guy.👍
Bravo
Rock on ....saying hi from Germany...
Good for you!! 😊
All the youngins'. When you see these 80's vids, and see the smiles, huge concerts, bands running wild w/ laughter. I'm gonna' tell ya' . This sh*t was real, what a f'n amazing time it was (70's were cool too). Man, if we could've seen how the 21st was going to be. I don't think we would have believed it. What a f'n difference....I'd give it all to back, just for one day....RnF'NR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take me back please, take me back. 1968 Texas baby here. Such sweet times back in the 1980's, hard but fun

My dad passed away this year. This song big city nights is his anthem. I never knew my father but when i listen to this song its like he is still alive and im finding out who he was. His jams are my jams now.
Ah the 80's when we truly had some of the greatest music don't get me wrong i have some absolute favorites from all genre and generations including recent but man 80's absolutely takes me back to my youth! A jam session of nothing but 80's totally changes my mood ❤
class of 1986 here. this was my 2nd concert, spring of 1984, Bon Jovi opened, had never heard of BJ, sounded like a gay band. Scorps were great even in the nosebleed section. A few weeks before this concert was Van Halen. My ears rung big time!
Class of 85.... Bon Jovi was gay.
got proof of that?
yes, I k now bj is not a band a gays. the mae sounded gay at the time. of course now that he came out to support Hillary, I see that jbj is a liberal loon. oh well.
mave dustaine I just wish JBJ and Springsteen would have just not gotten out there on stage with her and voiced their support.

Scorpions the best band. I love you.
Saw them twice, the first time was the "Love at First Sting" tour. AMAZING live band! Still jamming in 2024!
late 70's through early 90's was the best time
Yes it was!
Saw these guys at the OC Fair in 2005 when I was 21. Amazing still. Loved the Scorps since I was a kid. They rock.
Orange county fairgrounds in Middletown NY or in Orange county CA?!
Killing it as usual. James baby, you’re the tops !
I was fortunate to spend the night with the Scorpions during this time after a show in Boulder, Colorado at the Hilton Harvest Hotel. Being a professional acoustic drummer for many moons myself it was truly an honor and a blessing to spend quality time with my favorite band.😊
So what were they like?
This band is out of sight. Tremendous song & performance. I'm 70 & still Rockin' out to the music in the '60s, '70s, & '80s.
Mathias Jabbs, a true metal guitar master!
LOL
Up here in space
I'm looking down on you
My lasers trace
Everything you do
You think you've private lives
Think nothing of the kind
There is no true escape
I'm watching all the time
I'm made of metal
My circuits gleam
I am perpetual
I keep the country clean
I'm elected electric spy
I'm protected electric eye
Always in focus
You can't feel my stare
I zoom into you
You don't know I'm there
I take a pride in probing all your secret moves
My tearless retina takes pictures that can prove
I'm made of metal
My circuits gleam
I am perpetual
I keep the country clean
I'm elected electric spy
I'm protected electric eye
Electric eye, in the sky
Feel my stare, always there
There's nothing you can do about it
Develop and expose
I feed upon your every thought
And so my power grows
I'm made of metal
My circuits gleam
I am perpetual
I keep the country clean
I'm elected electric spy
I'm protected electric eye
Protected. Detective. Electric eye

I’d like to thank my dad for always playing bands like the Scorpions, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, etc. when we went on road trips. Really got me into this kind of music!
What kind of music? It's the ONLY music :D
I got to see the Scorpions 2x...most excellent concert. We got really close & man they played Loud...no regrets. Klaus still has the vocals, Rudolf Shenker & Matthias Jabs still have the great riffs. Rudy still rocks that back & fourth motion playing. Saw concerts of them on UA-cam at their Los Vegas residency just few weeks ago. I'd live to see them again.❤ 😎. The 80s & 90s ruled...👍🏼
