Baumkuchen is the best thing ever. Sadly it is not even known in many parts of western germany.

In Switzerland we have cookies called Totäbeinli, which means little legs or bones of dead people. In some places to be more polite they call them now Nussstangen. They are very hard to chew and you teeth make sounds when you try to crack them.

Sacher Cake: Yes a cake with a big history. There are lots of fact books, documentaries and novells about it´s creation. Hence the Wikipedia article to the cake is very well written.

Sacher Torte is made with apricot!
My Mom was from Vienna!
And I have eaten Sacher Torte there.

Feuerwehrtorte oder Schneewittchentorte sind auch gut.

Toter Hund.This is a cake made of butter cookies layered alternately with (liquid) dark chocolate. In the end, the entire cake is covered with dark chocolate. The dark chocolate is taken because milk chocolate would make the cake unbearably sweet.
