I wanna learn that like how he blocked the gun to his hand and the slapping of the hands and stuff at 8:38-42 I think it's called Krav Maga but when I looked it up I didn't see the stuff that Liam Neeson and the Albanian dude did
Eric Young I think it's Kali, a Filipino martial art. Special Forces around the world have taken interest in it. Kali/Eskrima is also a bladed weapons art. It's the MA used in the Bourne movies. It shares some similarities to Aikido, though unrelated. Krav likely borrows princples from it.
having done mixed martial arts for 28 years (before it was even called mixed martial arts) this is a brilliant fight, the guy he fights is obviously a properly skilled fighter, I bet he choreographed the final fight
It's complete bullshit. Watch it in slow motion. For starters in a real fight you never really see any "cross body trapping going on" and if you do it rarely if ever happens. Watch ufc or street fights. You don't intersect someone's cross body karate chop lol seriously that's the first strike thrown, then at 0:39 I shit you not liam neesom double bitch slaps the other guys elbow lol, then are some more cross body traps going on which is ridiculously retarded, and at 0:44 liam i shit you not does some bullshit cross body shoulder pinch with one hand. It's all just silly with limb slapping and wide curling hooks. It's a total joke of a fight. Real fights have Jabs, straights, some upper cuts and tight hooks. Not only that there is virtually no clinching, limb locking going on, no grappling, both guys are standing way way too straight up and no one is moving laterally meaning they are standing straight up barely moving side to side. It's just 2 guys bitch slapping each others arms, punching with cartoon wide punches, not going for any kind of takedowns, not using any trips or sweeps, clinches or knees, locks, leverage movement, head movement etc. I mean fuck if their stances are that narrow and they aren't moving you'd just go for a double leg, if their arms are flying around like that, you go for a limb lock and use levers, if their heads were that high up you go for a plum. And fuck if it's a fight to the death, you'd have head butts, small joint manipulation constantly, biting etc. It would go to the ground and turn into a BJJ fight. if these guys were trained.df Anyways, it's pretty much bullshit, anyone who say it's not, is fucking lying to you, don't do this shit in a fight. Best thing you can do against an untrained fighter is to take your opponent down then work to mount or if you can't do that, get their head under your armpit when they try to take you down, pull guard go for a guillotine and neck crank. Against a trained fighter just keep moving, keep your head covered, get your ass low as fuck, punch straight, not curved and when you can clinch them up to tire them out because they will kick your ass. Don't listen to anyone in this thread who says this shit is real. Boxed for 9, Muay Thai for 5, BJJ for 3, MMA for 3. None of this shit is realistic
For me, this fight made the rest of the movie worth it, though the first one is much better. When they first get on the platform they clear it all away and take a moment, squaring off like knights of old. This fight just has an epic quality about it, with the rising crescendo of music that just builds throughout. As for why there are no kicks, these are elite killers on a hard stone platform. They aren't going for style, they are seeking to destroy without losing balance so as to not give the enemy even the slightest edge.
HAHAHA you're kidding right? LIAMS FINAL ENEMY IS A SHORT BALD FAT GUY! It looks like Liam is fighting a midget. This is the no1 reason why i hate taken 2.
Sometimes you have to fight, even if you're tired. The appearance of the enemy is not important, if he can match your skill. This fight has a lot into it, way beyond the scene. You've seen it, some fools don't.
@ I'm just saying in the context of the movie, for a final showdown it was pretty weak. We have no connection to this goon or know he is and neither does Liam's character. It just comes off as kind of a random encounter that just happens. You could argue that's more realistic, but more realistic is not always more satisfying. As for his height, he may be more skilled than the rest, but Neeson's character has killed dozens of men up to this point, and for this small guy to come up to Neeson at the very end of the movie just makes me laugh, like, "Oh sure, this guy is gonna be the one to take him down."
This is one of my favorite hand to hand fight scenes ever. Even with all the angle changes (which I wish they didn’t do) the fight still seems so real. Like what you would expect a 1v1 between two special forces to be like
He wasn't just some random guy. He would definitely be ex special forces judging by his fighting skills and counter attacks. I thought this guy was great as the baddies. Hard as nails for sure.
Durim Kpuca Chill the fuck out you sad insecure man - are you aware that nationality and race have no correlation, you can be of Asian decent and still be Albanian. Whether or not the actor is Albanian isnt the issue either - the character is. It seems you are more racist than the film producers since you're getting angry at the concept of Asian Albanians whereas Albanian is not a race. Liam Neeson isnt american either but you don't see people freaking out that an american is being portrayed by a Brit.
Sorry buddy - but White Albanian is an ethnicity, as is Asian Albanian. Albanian is the nationality of someone from The Republic of Albania. Ethnicity is the cultural background of someone, for example - my Ethnicity is White Lower Middle Class British if you are going to be precise. Places such as Belfast during the troubles had numerous ethnicities in one city with their own cultural norms all of which were White Working Class Irish but on a macro level were separated into smaller subgroups based on social ideology. As someone studying a PhD on Tribal Mapping, I feel like you might be at a disadvantage here. Don't call people less intelligent just because they have highlighted that you are racist and incorrect in your understanding.
It's not a subject for debate friend. Albanian is a nationality, hence why there is such thing as an Albanian passport, you can't have a passport for an ethnicity - I've never seen a "White Working Class South European" passport, have you? I have Albanian colleagues, they are nationals of Albania, Albanian is their nationality, Albania has a national anthem, Albania is a nation, I don't see how you don't understand this. Ethnicity means cultural background, there are ethnicities unique to Albania - sure, but they are not the sum of your nation.
Love how we get full body shots when Liam gets his opponent into what would be his finishing move and we see his opponent counter them. For example the chokehold and the thumbs in the eyes.
Overall great fight scene, nice to see a straight up good fight. These days it is mostly bigger and badder with 3-4 moves. Here we get to see the main character facing someone who is skilled in the same way + back and forth action. More fights like this
This was arguably the best fight in the Taken series as none of the other people Bryan fought were as good as this guy. Hopefully in the third one he gets a more challenging opponent.
Ethan Mertz that was fucking disappointing I remember i was in theaters like here it comes the cool final fight like taken 1 and 2 and then nothing happened
Liam Neeson is 193 cm tall. An assassin that big with a lifetime of experience would be incredibly hard to beat. Only reason he had to use the ruse in the end was his age. The other guy never had a chance.
@Mario lacolucci It appeared to me as though both men were trained in the same style or extremely similar styles in which case both men had roughly equal odds of winning; neither one appeared to be in vastly better shape than the other and they appear roughly equal in age etc. Neesons' character had more reach but the other bloke had a lower center of gravity and was more stocky so I'd say they were very evenly matched.
You're both right, technically. Alain Figlarz is an ex-special-forces operative-turned-action/stunt choreographer who has trained in krav maga, hand-to-hand combat, and other forms of self-defense combat which explains the directness and power behind his strikes. On the other hand, Liam Neeson has been "trained" for prior films in more Kung-fu-heavy routines. Figlarz attempted to stage the scenes playing to the strengths of each actor, so both styles are present in the fight.
People forget though - Bryan is absolutely knackered! He’s been running after these guys non stop! He comes up against a guy that no doubt looks full of energy as he’s probably had sleep that Bryan hasn’t - try putting that same villain against a ‘full of energy Bryan mills’ - different story I recon for sure!
What fighting style does Alain Figlarz know ( the Albanian henchman ) I know that he used to be an ex-French special forces but what type of specific fighting style and I'm not expected to see close quarter combat I need a specific fighting style

TonyBaquva plus the staggering height difference. Neeson can have more power in his blows but his arms are too long and he’s a bit too slow. The Albanian guy doesn’t fight traditionally opposed to the rigid trained style of Neeson so he’s a bit less predictable

Modern military/police fighting systems are mix of various styles, from the striking to the grappling. Also MMA is a good training for operators, both for self defence for few moments and for a prolonged fight, if the opponent is trained with same systems/martial arts.
Oh yeah. I remember. That was when the epic ost "Up Like Trump" started playing. Though I think the animation was a little bad at that one part where Cory is teleported into the black hole and is forced to destroy half of the universe in order to escape.
Bro, you guys need to check out season 31. The opening shows Cory bombing the Presidential Election. Crazy theories are saying that Cory will summon Aizen from the fifth dimension finally so we can see the epic showdown between Aizen and Cory's pet cat.
I think that Cory's cat Timbo is more than a match for Aizen. It will be a lame fight. Remember when Timbo released his Skyjacker technique? Yeah, I don't see Aizen countering that. I think it would be better if Cory summoned Madara Uchiha. Now that would be one godly fight.
I will let you know is that Taken 3 is going to be a very dark movie. And I have all ready notice of the new story is going to be about. Is all about when Bryan Mills is going to be framed by killing somebody that he did not commit. It is pretty darn shocking if you ask me.
just so that you guys know, height is irrelevant in martial arts, but still the guy fighting Liam is no shorty in any way, Liam IRL is 6'4 and this guy, the albanian guy should be probably around 5'9-5'11 and thats not short at all :p
At first, I couldn't take the little guy seriously as the main henchman, but damn, did he sell the scene. He was clearly chosen for his skills, not his looks.
Yeah, its an interesting fighting style, he seems like he makes less explosive move, but just traps his opponent and counter attacks..anyways he makes it seem easy lol
Expressionism - I meant an unorganized fight of a messy scuffle is an ultimate work of art of true expressionism has full beauty over than looking all pretty with flashy moves. as all what I said before this Taken 2 Last Fight seems to capsulate that full beauty.
The fighting is unreal (real). It looks nothing like sport fighting. Even our "martial" arts are pacifist. Practically almost all of these moves are illegal in sport fighting. The fighting style is old skool Kung Fu, for killing. 0:43 the Vulcan death grip 0:47 Rick Flair body chop 1:03 Eye gouging 1:05 head butting 1:09 foot stomping 1:11 Aikido wrist snapping 1:15 choke hold 1:19 finger breaking 1:22 shanking 1:24 more shanking 1:36 more finger breaking 1:39 knee kicking 1:51 more shanking 1:52 John Cena's FU Ironically "fake" wrestling WWE is the most "martial" of martial arts. I don't think modern people can even stomach this kind of brutality, let alone know it, and execute it.
Im assuming when the Albanian hit the back of his head on the ledge, it broke his neck but was still alive. Liam finished him off by twisting his neck to the side, which severed his spinal cord...
Durim Kpuca I see you calling Americans idiots and saying we made Albanians look muslim or some shit, all over this page..1st. creator of this entire TAKEN series is French as is the director for this movie.. they chose the actors to portray here. 2nd, this villain is actually French in reality. perhaps he has TURKISH decent, but he is of French nationality, ex special forces and the fight choreographer for this movie. 3rd. when we call him the Albanian, we are referring to the fact that he is portraying an Albanian. don't be mad at American fans. that's just how we are describing the short fucker in this scene who gets killed...you don't seem to have an issue with liam, who is irish I believe, playing an American. but I guess it's all b/c he has the same skin color, b/c that's what you seem to be pissed off about.
I know this is a movie and all, but this fight reminded me: ¿Have you ever fought against somebody, who was your exact equal in strenght, speed and skill?
This was the best opponent that Liam Neeson faced so far ...

Oh yeah.
As much as I am looking forward to Taken 3 one thing I hope they do is to make the fight scenes less jittery and more 'stable' to view.
Should be good! I just got back from Non Stop.
Also an excellent Liam Neeson film.
Maximus1Decimus Great. Will go and see tonight.
I will let you know is that Taken 3 is going to be a very dark movie. And I have all ready notice of the new story is going to be about. Is all about when Bryan Mills is going to be framed by killing somebody that he did not commit. It is pretty darn shocking if you ask me.
BooBop1987 cool
I'm so glad that you like it!
Bryan Mills (taken) Vs Robert Mccall ( Equlizer )
Liam Neeson is so smart and agile
About one of the score that came from Taken 2. Did everybody know that they did bring the score back for Taken 3?
just so that you guys know, height is irrelevant in martial arts, but still the guy fighting Liam is no shorty in any way, Liam IRL is 6'4 and this guy, the albanian guy should be probably around 5'9-5'11 and thats not short at all :p
Melvin Rosales exactly lol everyone thinks that dude's a midget.
Melvin Rosales hes 5'11 and thats cuz liam is taller
@@507Soccer it is to liam😂
This fight scene sinks up with the Bruce Lee "Game of Death" theme
What was that final move?
Ouch ! That back neck breaking must have hurt
When all you’re stuntman call out sick on the last day of filming so you Recruit the caterer for the final big fight scene
I'm calling it right now, Taken 3, the boyfriend is going to save the family lol
At first, I couldn't take the little guy seriously as the main henchman, but damn, did he sell the scene. He was clearly chosen for his skills, not his looks.
u are both wrong. by IMBD portal its called nagasu-do, an aikido with strike techniques from other japanese martial arts.
i laughed my ass off during this fight XD
Especially at 0:50 😂 buddy thought he was doing something 😂
fuking yeah just like that
this fighting style is combination of stuff, most of the moves is what you learn in french foreign legion or special ops
Great scene with Krav Maga types of realty combat style !
Phil Luiz Muslims using Israeli fighting techniques and signatures?
not krav maga kali a Filipino martial art
well, self defense martial art all shares similar techniques!!
+Phil Luiz very true
Guys those move are from albanian comando the guy we liam is fightin is an albanian comando
What kind of martial art is that?
Soccer players are tough!
This fighting style is krav mega
loved .Alain Figlarz is the best
CQC 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💪
Adnawmy Serrano love mgs
Definetely.
Yeah, its an interesting fighting style, he seems like he makes less explosive move, but just traps his opponent and counter attacks..anyways he makes it seem easy lol
Expressionism - I meant an unorganized fight of a messy scuffle is an ultimate work of art of true expressionism has full beauty over than looking all pretty with flashy moves. as all what I said before this Taken 2 Last Fight seems to capsulate that full beauty.
got em
The fighting is unreal (real). It looks nothing like sport fighting. Even our "martial" arts are pacifist. Practically almost all of these moves are illegal in sport fighting. The fighting style is old skool Kung Fu, for killing.
0:43 the Vulcan death grip
0:47 Rick Flair body chop
1:03 Eye gouging
1:05 head butting
1:09 foot stomping
1:11 Aikido wrist snapping
1:15 choke hold
1:19 finger breaking
1:22 shanking
1:24 more shanking
1:36 more finger breaking
1:39 knee kicking
1:51 more shanking
1:52 John Cena's FU
Ironically "fake" wrestling WWE is the most "martial" of martial arts. I don't think modern people can even stomach this kind of brutality, let alone know it, and execute it.
The only thing that would have made this fight scene better would be about 200 less cuts.
Bryan saw the pain in the dudes eyes at the end so he just ended his suffering
Im assuming when the Albanian hit the back of his head on the ledge, it broke his neck but was still alive. Liam finished him off by twisting his neck to the side, which severed his spinal cord...
And.... why should this matter to me?
Why the fuck is everyone so hostile lol
It's actually Kali, wing chun isn't the only art that utilizes trapping - looks like they use a bit of hubud there when their hands are tied up.
Is this wing chun???
I know this is a movie and all, but this fight reminded me: ¿Have you ever fought against somebody, who was your exact equal in strenght, speed and skill?
Not all three at the same time, that I can remeber.
