Joost dedicated this song to his father, who died when he was 12 years old. His father said: the world has no boundaries. When he was 13 his mother died. He is such an example for young people, he deserves all the respect in the world. Joost Klein is Huge! All the best for him❤🍀🥰
It's not about criticism on Europe. This song has many layers. The song name is a contraction of Europe + Papa (= father in Dutch). Further references to these 2 subjects: 1. He was an orphan at a young age. His father taught him that this world is his oyster, without borders. So he travels to many countries to escape the pain of the loss of his parents, but that doesn't work. No escargots, fish 'n chips, paella can make him forget. 2. He used to watch ESC with his parents. And he said that one day he would be on that stage performing. His father encouraged him to live life without limits and to go for it. The small boy with the note pad references to his father encouraging him to write poetry (his father was a writer) and now Joost writes songs and he has made it to the ESC ("you see, dad, I listened to you"). With the burning (of the house, picture, building/mill (his past, growing up in Friesland)) at the end of the video, everything comes full circle. He has made his parents proud and he can accept their passing, his past and move on. Hope this helps.

As happy as this song sounds, it's a sad song. Actually, he describes his life in a few minutes;
In the first verse, he talks about losing everything. An important part is the death of his parents when he was 12/13 years old.
In the second verse, he talks about how alone and lonely he is. He also says that he needed help because of depression and homelessness and apparently did not get enough help.
I don't understand the reference to stromai (bad in french). The leonardi da vinci (The Last Supper) scene may refer to one of his songs in which he sings that he is god.
The Black Guy with 12 Point is a UA-camr who made clips about bulling. Joost has been bullied, and look at him now.
If I remember correctly, his father once told him that he should keep writing poetry.
The house with the mill is the place in which he grew up (with all the shit) and possibly burning it down (like you can do in therapy), taking a new step into a new world without borders in which he can do whatever he wants.

La canción tiene un final de millones
El baile se llama hakken o hakku. Es el baile por excelencia del Hardcore o del Oldskool más conocido como Gabber. En sus auges en Europa sobre los 90s y actualmente todavía se siguen haciendo estas fiestas y cada vez más. Está volviendo, en Valencia se reabrió Chocolate hace poquito y la Spook. Y realmente nunca se ha ido. La mejor música electrónica de Europa es el Techno o el Hardcore. Para mí representa mucho estos valores europeos y sobre todo el holandés donde NUNCA ha muerto el Hardcore. Y por fin en Eurovision tenemos esta representación y de este tipo de música que amamos

Más rápido que ver en directo la canción de Chipre!!!! Aquí mi opinión de "Europapa", la propuesta de Países Bajos:
Aunque "el paquete" parezca divertido o incluso irreverente, la canción presenta un mensaje mucho más complejo de lo que parece: puedes viajar por Europa aunque no sepas a dónde vas ni tengas dinero, porque las fronteras, aunque separan países, no separan ideas o necesidades (lo que el difunto padre de Joost Klein le decía)... Con esta canción me pasa exactamente lo mismo que con la de Suiza que se estreno temprano: si logra conectar con el televoto en la semifinal, será un fuerte contendor en la final.

Yo estoy living con la canción. También siento que hay muchas referencias a la unión europea no sé si como crítica o como admiracion. He estado leyendo que en países bajos son bastante union europea excepticos y como en muchos países la extrema derecha está ganando popularidad. Si ves la letra al principio habla de beneficios como un mundo sin frontera, el viaja por muchos países sin su pasaporte pero por otra parte hay algunas frases que me transmiten tristeza y crítica.

His dad taught him we are all human and borders are something people invented, they are just a concept. In the song Joost is visiting other places in Europe, in remembrance of his dad, but he still feels alone and is in pain, as his father is not there.
I'm Dutch, so I understand the lyrics, but I'm also not fully sure if the song is completely positive or if it has criticism in it as well. The song has many layers. He is positive about traveling without a passport. Joost said the ending, with the house and the big structure burning is him saying goodbye to his grief, starting a new chapter. But I wouldn't be surprised if it also has a bit of "Europe is burning" in it, with far right politics gaining in popularity and the war between Russia and Ukraine. I noticed that one of the hardstyle dancers is a girl in a light blue with yellow track suit, Ukraine's colors. Seen as there is a lot of attention to details in this music video, I don't think that's a coincidence.
