Look at the three guys/musicians before it goes to happy hardcore. Look at the colours, like they are 3 tulips.
Those birds are real!
Lyon here, the editor of the music video.
First of all I wanna thank you for being one of the few people reacting to have the music video in the right aspect ratio
Bam!
Honestly: The first time watching this video i thought to myself that the editor of this video must be a genius, you and everyone involved nailed it !!!🤩🤩🤩
Dude, that music video is legendary! Super vet. Echt. ❤
Verdomd knap werk man! Meesterlijk gemaakte clip. 👌 Jullie hebben een nieuwe belangrijke pagina in de muziekgeschiedenis van Nederland geschreven.
Eens 100%👍@@MyTubeSVp
So refreshing to have an editor analyzing the video, as an editor myself it's like hearing myself think and you noticed stuff I didn't.
Thanks for this nice comment editor friend💙
There's so many things we can analyze in a great clip like this; I like to see the people reacting and seeing different stuff too!
Joost lost his father to cancer at the age of twelve and his mother a year later to a chronic attack. At a young age used to watch Eurovision with them and had a dream that he too would participate in the event. His father told him that he can achieve anything and that the world has no limits and borders. This is a song to his parents and especially to his father as a message that he believed his father's words, he listened to him and made his dream come true
Thanks so much for sharing this background information 🙏
It’s stupid advice you can achieve anything, especially to this already delusional generation.
@@Dwazedas Found the boomer!
It's different, he was 14 years old when he lost both parents within a year. father from cancer and his mother from heart failure.@@JuliaEditSuite
What a very in-depth evaluation of the song. I love it when people look / observe to a subject from different angels. I really appreciate your comments and love to explore the song through your eyes from another perspective. Gracias
Gracias a ti for your nice comment 💙
The hard core music at the end is real Dutch Gabber music, developed in Rotterdam in the 90's.
Thanks for your insight 🙏
Wow you are the first review I've seen in many dozens that respects how well this is produced. Kudos to you, Julia! Let's see how it turns out on stage.
Thanks a lot for your nice comment 💙 and for passing by
Really great comment and analysis from a video editor point of view. 👌🏻
The dining table with some Dutch celebs refers to the last supper as mentioned in the Bible. The dramatic end of the burning the house is indeed that it’s time to leave the past behind.
Nice to know that Joost has a creative team of friends around him with who he made this clip. He almost works out all aspects of his journey to participation of the Eurovision. For instance he designed his clothes, the video has been recorded where he drove to school on his bicycle when he was young. Etc. It’s a real creative allround artist.
Wow Joost is extremely creative in many fields then.. so cool, thanks a lot for this info I didn't know 🙏
Not completely correct. The videoclip was taken at the hamlet Etersheim (Noord-Holland). Joost didn’t grew up there, but in Friesland. 🌎 geo 52°34'45.5"N 5°01'25.4"E
Joost Klein was disqualified in the Europian Eurosong Contest
It's really the saddest day in Eurosong history!!😢😢😢
Love your reaction! You've pointed out so many technical details in this video I didn't see before. Very interesting to see the video through technical glasses
Thank you Annelies for your nice feedback 🙏
I’ve seen some 100 reaction videos now, but this was the best one!
Agree 100%. It added something
Thanks so much for your nice comment 💙
The table scene is a replication of the 'last meal' the singers in the frame are previous Dutch contenders of the Eurovision.
donny heeft nooit meegedaan
@@mvdh877 Neither did Emma Wortelboer. But they're all connected to Eurovision and, or Joost.
@@renemeyer256 indeed, Emma spokesperson, Donnie text writer, only the two on the left ever participated.
@@mvdh877 I said the singers 😉
@@JohnZonneveld nice escape 😉
I think the dining table with people is related to the mural 'the last supper' painted by Leonardo da Vinci (Milaan) .
Thanks for your insight! 🙏
It's true. It's Leonardo's painting.
What a specifik review! The best I've seen ! Compliments.
Many thanks!
@2:42 glad you pointed out this bit is as well. As much as its a happy hardcore song, its reflective on the motifs of the song
Thanks so much for your nice comments 💙
absolutely love your in-depth reaction of this song. happy hardcore for life ;)

So this was really interesting! And thorough. You made me see what I did not see before. Crazy music video.. it deserves an award. Its also crazy how this whole thing blew up the world. Joost is everywhere. Crazy! Love it!!
Yes, this is such a great videoclip. Appreciate you passing by here 🙏
Really loved your comments on composition, shutter speed and lenses. Thank you for the reaction and much love from the Netherlands!
Thanks a lot!
Youre comment is evenly sublime ,
it adds in a way that OPENS the INSIDE.
Best review I've seen yet !🌹
Thanks for your words!
I have seen many reaction videos and most of them listen to the song and the message ofcourse. Its nice to actually see the details of the video that most people would miss because they dont really focus on that.
Nice :)
Thank you for your nice comment 🙏
It isn't a fish eye. The mill is on a terp, to protect against floods. They are at the bottom with the fence following the curve down from the mill.
Also the two jackets were designed by Joost.
I am going to see if you reacted to little big, they are very inventive and cinematic as well.
I subscribed, you deserve to be monitized
Hi Anne, thanks so much for this great insight 💙
Little Big, you mean the Russian rave band? I didn't know them but just checked out their youtube and they certainly have some creative clips.
If that's the one you mean, would definitely go over some of their videos :)
@@JuliaEditSuite that is indeed the one I meant. First clip I saw (years after it went viral) was skibidi, funny song but great clip... Turns out it is a Rabbit Hole 😝😎
Also my favorite song of Joost is "wachtmuziek" a funny song about the waiting lists in mental healthcare.. the kind of song that probably already saved lives.. definitely worth a look and listen
@@annebokma4637 Thanks again for your suggestion! I will check out Wachtmuziek 🙏
I already loved the crazy videos from Little Big, so I am working now on an upcoming video which I'll upload soon 👀

Super interesting review from an editor's perspective. Learned how to look at this video in a different and enjoyable way. Muchas gracias Julia!

El mejor analisis que yo he visto. Gracias. Es una obra de arte.
Muchas gracias por tu comentario y por pasarte por aquí 💙
The dining table looks like the still life paintings from the dutch golden age. Luxurious and abundant. Composition looks like the last supper.
Nice explanation of the video
Thanks for this insight and for passing by 🙏🙏
Really enjoyed your analysis. What i also noticed was the birds singing at the end, coming home from flying away at the start. And also the 2 guys in the small carts seem to be his shoulder devil/angel.
The room with the 4 girls dancing i have a hard time placing aswell.
Thanks for this interesting insight 👀
I believe its made for tiktok dances, to also cover that part of the hype
No sabía esa info, gracias!! 💙
Sorry I was too quick with my comment. This is the best reaction video I've come across and you are a true pro. One thing I think you missed is that all the shots are supposed to be from and within the building you see at the beginning. Greetings!
Thanks for this great insight Tony! And for your nice comment 🙏
Look at the thorns on his jacket untill the end, the end that burned the building, then he was freed of his burdens, and the spikes where gone in his silouet...
That's a good one, thanks for your add!🙏
I just love your analytic eye. Thank you!
Thanks for your nice comment!💙
Isn't this Joost Klein? The guy who win Eurovision 2024?
love the call back real 90 dutch music I am from the netherlands amazing song
Thanks for your insight 🙏
what alot of people miss and i think makes the whole video EVEN MORE of a masterpiece is the fact that the building you see with the windmill on the side at the begining is the building that's burning at the end of the video
I did catch this one🙈 but thanks for sharing it here! It may not be something noticeable right away for sure.
Loved your review, a lot of the people showing up in the video are well known people from the Dutch hardcore scene from the nineties. The guy in the car in the "shady discoteque" scene is DJ Paul Elstak, The guy on the TV before switching to the hardcore partis Tim Haars, a well know Dutch actor and the producer of this video. I really love this song, finally one i can be happy about we as country are sending to Eurovision, really wonder how Joost is going to perform on stage.
Thanks for all this info, it definitely adds more value to the video :)
I actually saw him live in Tilburg and he was amazing with the crowd!
I''ve been watching some "reacts to" videos in the last few weeks about Europapa, but you made the best and in-depth video. Thank you for the things you pointed out, that I missed. :)
Thanks for your nice comment 💙
Very good reaction from a editor perspective. You definitely know your stuff :)
Appreciate your nice comment 💙
The analysis at 6:41 was also very good
Are you a professional video maker? because your comment is so accurate about the video shots. I like it. Good work. Love to you and all from Holland!
Dankje wel Johannes, ja, mijn beroep is video editing 💙
appreciate the nice insights about the music/visual references
those people around the table all have a connection to eurovision and are rene froger(famous singer in the netherlands has competed as group de toppers very long time ago), S10(netherlands entry for eurovision back in 2022 i) donnie(a rapper and has co writed on europapa) and emma wortelboer(presenter she gave the points from the netherlands in 2019 and she's the one who screamed so much when duncan laurence won )
Thanks for your insight 🙏
That long table.. Da vinci, the painter... last supper
A well crafted piece of art with so many layers in 4:3 ratio. Europa jonguh! ❤

thank you for your review that was so nice to see you disect the video. it was done by a longtime friend of Joost. He is not used to high budget videos so this was something special.
Thanks for this insightful info, he did such a good job along with all the production team 💙
Gracias por el análisis, muy bueno
Gracias Jose por tu comentario 💙
The end piano chords are from Sting: Englishman in New York. I'm an alien, I'm a legal alien.
He used that song also in his other video 'Friesenjungen'
Thanks for your insight, didn't know 🙏
Nice to hear an reaction from an editor. I already thought it was very well done but thanks to you I am convinced❤

What a refreshing review of this song's video clip. Thanks for sharing your insights and expertise!
Thanks for you nice comment 💙
Very cool reaction vid from a different perspective, normally people only focus on the song itself.
Thanks to you I only noticed Rene Froger being in the video. Also around t=474s we have Max Verstappen, and the "Welcome in Europa jonguh" is from New Kids, oddly funny Dutch movie(s).
Thanks a lot for this info! Good catch, I did recognize the actor from New Kids, but completely missed Verstappen in there 😯
A like jouwe JULia😘🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇳🇱🇺🇦🇳🇱
The way you gave your analysis about the editing. It gave me so much more understanding of the song. And of course as Dutchie, I knew the story, but after your analysis it made it for me so much better.
Thnxz!
I'm glad to hear that, dankje wel voor je leuk reactie💙
I am a person quite unhandy in editing but I allways watch how the 'professionals' do it and how I would do it myself if I did not have a handicap. But your reaction and comments to this videoclip is exactly what I was thinking plus much more. Querida Julia, spot on, really good job you have done here and because of this you left me with a good feeling and I subscribed. Thank you very much! (and 12 point for The Netherlands!) ;)
Gracias!! I appreciate your nice comment, feels good to show new perspectives 🙏

Glad to hear that, thanks for passing by here 💙
Hola Julia!
Really loved your analysis of the video. I think the whole package, the music, the video, the lyrics, is put together with a lot of TLC. All parts work together to build up this emotional arc - if you watch more reaction videos to this clip you'll notice that pretty much every reactor is grinning from ear to ear by the time we reach the hard style part of the video, the top of the arc - which makes the "crash" into the end part of the song all the more heartfelt (especially if you know Joost's history).
Truly a piece of art and I loved the way you analyzed it from a video editing perspective.
Muy bien hecho, muchas gracias y cordiales saludos desde Holanda!
Hola, gracias por tu comentario 💙
I definitely enjoyed the hardcore part and thanks to a bit of research and all the comments, I learnt more from Joost story which made me see this videoclip in different eyes. Mvg :)

A true masterpiece!!!
Thank you so much Julia for this wonderful reaction video.
I've seen the video a couple of times now. Next to the song I really enjoyed the video. You breaking it down bit by bit and explaining gave me some great new insights.
I wonder if the shot with all the people at the table ( René Froger, S10, Donnie, Emma Wortelboer) is inspired by or a reference to the 'Last Supper' by Leonardo da Vinci?
Sometimes when you break things down it will loose some of the magic. Here the opposite happens for me as it shows all the wonderful work done by @LyonPol.
Hope you weren't offended by Joost singing "Don't need paella, no. I don't even really know what that is"
Shout out from the netherlands to Spain.
Hi Erik, thanks for you interesting insight. You're not the only one who thought about the Last Supper, so now I'm truly curious if that's the thing or not 👀
🙏🙏
@@JuliaEditSuite Funny one day after I wrote this down I saw some other video of a Dutch girl reacting on this video and she mentioned it was inspired by the Last Supper. Not sure where the information came from or if it was her own idea.
Did you see the live performance of Europapa?

*you
The song is a letter to his parents who died when Joost was still young. His father told him that since humans invented the borders, he could invent the world, his own world. And so he did! The end with the burning picture and house means that it's time to stop grieving about his parents and step into a new phase in his life.
Thanks so much for sharing this background information 🙏
The diner part is also like 17s century Dutch painting about eating and parties of the very rich.
Thanks for your technical explanation. I watch the video in a different way now. See things know I haven’t noticed before.
Thanks for you nice comment 💙
A true masterpiece by Joost!!!
Its so interesting to hear your perspective on the clip. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for passing by!
The table scene (with the food) is probably a reference to the Last Supper by Leonardo.
Thanks for your insight :)
Cool detail: the guy in the driver's seat in the car is a very big hardcore dj, DJ Paul Elstak. Which perfectly matches the oldskool nineties (happy) hardcore vibe from that part of the song.
He even helped Joost with that last part of the song.
Thanks for sharing this info! I didn't know 🙏
Me gusto muchisimo! Very well dissected on your side. Of course there's a lot more to discover like the 4:3 frame as a reminder that was default for television back in the ninenties and stuff. But you also pointed out things I wasn't aware of so, bonus points to you for that.
¡Avanza!

Loved the video! Im from belgium and made an entire analysis on the videoclip regarding hidden details, double meanings and easter eggs.
I rlly loved watching your video, we both noticed some little details exactly the same, such as the fisheye effect/lens in the windmill shot, the grain added to these shots to make it feel more 90's. I love your style of analysis, keep up!!

I like that it has multiple meanings - the main meaning being Joost's message to his late father and Joost's grief at not being able to share his success. And a comment about old papa Europe having to hold it together while the world is catching fire.
Thanks for this insight 🙏
This was a very nice reaction. Thnks 🥰

The song is way more complicated than I thought when I first saw it. Your comment in this reaction video made me appreciate and understand the song even more. There were some things I didn’t get, that I do now.
About the flight of birds; this happens often on the same moment every day. These flights are also very common in The Netherlands. Before my apartment building there are 2 flights a day of pigeons. And in the season there are the flights of the starlings. They often start from the rooftop of my building, so I see them fall just before my window, before they catch up with the wind.
So it’s possible that the birds flew during filming and they picked it up, or they just waited for the right time.
With the shot of the game device morphing in real life: there is a reaction video where the guy recognized the device, being the same as his first one.
Thanks for sharing these insights 💙 the birds look incredibly real, so could be what you say and didn't know the story of the the device!
Great analysis
Thank you 💙
This scene behind the table looks a bit like the Final supper of Michelangelo.
This cut with the dude on an old tv looks like something from the '90's called 'New kids from the block'
And than the housebeat right after that, sounds like 2Unlimited with the song 'There's no limit'.
But what do I know. Maybe I'm wrong...
Anyways, I like it a lot.
Oh, great video by the way. You showed things I never saw before. So therefor I subscribed to your channel.
Keep up the good work!
