That is heater core. AC evaporator is behind right underneath the front windshield. I wish I can attach the picture I took when I cleaned mine.

Thanks for posting. I just finished doing this. It's a good video, but there a few steps that were not shown or can be done slightly differently.
The steps for removing the center vent and removing the frame for the radio and HVAC controls are not shown. Be aware, that if you have a car like the one in this video with the radio and HVAC controls together (as opposed to a car with NAV, where the HVAC controls are mounted lower down in place of the storage), it's basically impossible to remove the center vent without breaking either or both of the tabs at the bottom. This is because BMW in their infinite lack of wisdom, did not put any holes in the HVAC / radio frame through which you can depress the tabs on the left and right side of the center vent. As a result, it's impossible to depress the tabs to release them, so not only is it a b*tch to remove the vent, either one or both the tabs will most likely break. The right tab broke on mine. I removed the left tab in case I ever have to remove it again. If your car has NAV, you will be able to easily depress the tabs with your fingers from underneath. You should be able to feel them.
Also, when removing the HVAC control, rather than using a screwdriver and likely scratching the plastic, it's easier to remove it by pushing back from behind. It pops out easily.

That wasn't the AC evaporator that you cleaned, that was the heater core. I'm sure it needed to be cleaned also, but to be accurate, that was the heater core

I just changed out the heater core on my 2005 330i this last weekend, I had to clean up the coolant that spilled. The link below is the heater core pic below
      www.oembimmerparts.com/BMW-E46-3-Series-Heater-Core-OEM-64118372783-p/64118372783.htm
the AC evaporator is (link for pic below)
      www.oembimmerparts.com/BMW-A-C-Evaporator-W-Valve-OEM-p/64119135744e46.htm
and to access to clean you have to remove the glove box, remove the blower resistor, and spray on to the evaporator, just as much trouble as you went through to clean the heater core
I'm not trying to be a jerk, and I'm sincere when I say thank you for taking the time and effort to post you video, I just know for a fact that what you cleaned is the heater core

@@vincecuda Hi, is your heater core was dirty before replacement? Usually heaters do not require cleaning.
