Great song and reaction. This has always been my favorite of hers . I love the intro of this song so much. Tina Turners life and music was so extraordinary. I still miss her. But she left us so much to be thankful for. R.I.P 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
The ONLY reason I know this song exists is because my mother is a huge Tina Turner fan. She would make me watch her concerts 😂 Her live performance of this with the saxophone is otherworldly! It gives it a different vibe.
When soldiers were always about and going to clubs and wanting to dance, there were dance halls. Women didn't hang out at clubs alone. So women were hired to dance with these men, originally for a dime, so you know it was a long time ago. This is the most original song I ever heard Tina sing. It's not the blues, It's not rock and it's not r&b. I like it.
A great song but What's Love Got To Do With It is my favorite off this album for several reasons. She was recovering from a hostage relationship, so, there's that. I enjoyed the song request & the reaction.👍
Top 2 Tina fave, for me. It always transports me somewhere else, even though I've never been a "private dancer" or anything like that. If you can imagine, Meshell Ndegeocello covered this song for her album Ventriloquism and made it sound even more melancholy than the original lol.
I always thought this was a deep sad song. It always made me think about a person cought up in prostitution. I am impressed by the visual impact of the vision when she says she wants a family but the couple look like their dead (make up) it is like she is stating that the dream is dead/hopeless.
i bought this album as soon as it came out -- and recall this track (I was in high school). I always thought it really was about a woman caught up in prostitution -- but not sure if that is true. Always felt sad for the 'dancer' and Tina pulled it off so great with her voice and her video. RIP Tina, one of the greatest, if not the greatest.
You should check out her live performance of “I Can’t Stand The Rain” from 1985. PLEASE check out that version because the album version isn’t as good.
Well I wouldn’t use the phrase washed up, we knew Tina was a superstar before her comeback album, just look at her performance’s before 1984 not to mention her success with Ike and Tina which were one of the most popular electrifying band’s at that time!!!
This is a gorgeous song and gorgeous performance, but I think the video threw off JJ. This is a video that doesn't respect the song it's visualizing -- it has a different rhythm and feeling. When the song was making a quiet sensitive point, the video was throwing distracting images. This one is probably best listened to without visuals.
This song is beautiful but video is distracting and heavily edited. . the original audio is over 7 minutes..the video is only 4. Check out the original audio version. Btw this was title track of her award winning comeback album!
Tina was washed up ine music world. Hadn't had a hit record for a decade. But then some UK artists/songwriters got behind her. This one written by Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits. The album on which this appeared made Tina a Grammy-award winning superstar.
I’m just floored by Tina’s brand of rock n roll, it’s really rock n soul is what it is! The soul is ever present! Impressive!

This was such a wonderful comeback
Rest in peace, Tina Turner. You were simply the best.

One of my fav songs of Tina Turner. She can do no wrong either ❤ Private Dancer is a definite mood. 😏

Tina owned this song 👍👍👍 Sad because having to pay for company
is a bad state to be in for both. Great reaction
I love Tina, she was my favorite female vocalist, until I discovered Chaka. Still love her though, A legend. ⚘⚘🙌❤
*****You would like TINA TURNER with MICK JAGGER in "Beast of Burden."

Dude, you never disappoint with these clssics....
Love Tina ! Her Honky Tonk Woman with Ike and the Ikettes dancing is amazing I watched 3 different performances.

Tina Turner is my girl, even though I’m not a private dancer and the video seems kinda off with unusual symbolism, I still love Tina!!!
Song and video are great!

Yes the album version of that song pales in comparison.
I love golden eye by her. It was for A James Bond movie
More like a song about prostitution rather just a mere private dancer 😄
It's the best song ever written about being a hoe Tina made prostitution sound so sexy and classy
REACT TO THE JETS PRIVATE NUMBER OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO
Your analysis was spot on. The song to me is more than being a sex dancer it's about dancing withe devil
In the 1920’s and 30’s they would get paid for men to dance with them. Lonely life 😪
"Taxi dancers." Pat Benatar's "Love Is Battlefield" video also portrayed them in a more contemporary, grimy setting.
React to Tina Turner song "The Best"

Word on the curb is that Tina metoo’ed Ike but it was 🧢

If you don't know the history, then you won't get the context.
Its about her.move away from abusive ike.
This doesn't sound like the original, too much instrumental. Check for another video.
It can go anywhere from dancing to having sex for money @ Chubby 🥰🥰❤🤎💜💜💙
