So glad she was able to have time to turn things around and have a beautiful life with a husband that seem to treat her well. Rest in Peace Tina you made a difference and you will be missed.
I am from the Philippines, and when I was 5 years old, my parents introduced me to music they love to listen to. This was circa 69, we listened to the Platters, the Cascades, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. Pat Boone, Matt Monroe, Tony Bennett and much more artists in the 50s 60s. And of course they listened to Ike and Tina. (This was when you have a stereo system that played long playing vinyl albums and 45s). I loved Tina... and mimicked her singing Proud Mary, and at one point I danced Proud Mary in one of my kindergartens school program. My admiration and my love for her music back then even made me change how I introduce my name to friends and family much to my parents laughter. I would say to whoever would listen, " Hello, my name is Tina Turner!". My family and friends would look at me smiling. This went on for sometime. Ms. Turner is my childhood, a lot of memories. So yes early on, I am channelling my inner Tina Turner. You are a blessing Ms. Turner. You will be missed greatly, especially this 5 year old that adored you early on. Thank you for your magnificent existence.
All the trauma that Tina went through because of Ike was very sad. I praise her for finally rising above all that and becoming a most special icon for women everywhere. Rest in peace, Tina, and thank you, Angela, for your beautiful portrayal of her. 💓
Tina Turner was an iconic legend like no other. She fought her way back to the top against all odds and she was the Queen of Rock & Roll! That had to be hard with people telling her she couldn't do it at her age but she proved them all wrong. What a great message for women today! I remember seeing her in Concert in 1987 and she was magnetic! She will be missed! RIH Queen!💖💖
This is so true about Tina she is a woman of venture....she is a fighter and a true believer of her self, she does not know how to give up, i know she is born to a better life now i pray may she continue to rest in power.... how are you doing today Gina i hope everything is fine with you?
A life well lived and a story for us all. My mother went through an abusive relationship. While it wasn’t as physically brutal as Tina’s more so mental abuse, as a then child, it was rough to witness. I’m amazed at the strength for Tina because in many ways, my mother saw the similarities and had this crazy strength in her as well to get away from this situation. While my mother has gone on to be with the Lord, I am thankful for Tina in sharing this dark part of her life to shine a light for so many others. Rest well Queen, you have truly done it all and deserve it.

Angela Basset absolutely embodied Tina Turner in her performance in What's Love Got to Do With It , brings me to tears every time. Fantastic actress and a beautiful tribute ❤
Angela Bassett is always so eloquent. She spoke the most beautiful words about Tina Turner, Tina was a legend, I was very inspired by her story and her life. RIH my Queen.
What a beautiful message from Tina to Angela- you never mimicked me, you reached deep into your soul and found your inner Tina”. Like you Graeme, I was moved to tears too
You are more than an icon TINA you are a stepping stone for generations after you and your influence has touched the lives of so many through your pain and life. RIP proud black woman!
Tina's use of Buddhist chants to find moments of peace in her turbulent world was truly an inspiration to me. Angela portrayed Tina's many struggles and Tina's great triumphs so well. Thank you Angela. Thank you Tina Turner For Being So Strong and finding a way and showing all of us that way to a better life. God Bless You, Great Tina. You will never be forgotten.
She grew through all the hardships, and soared, gave her all, and made us all want to grow . She was and always will be a musical legend and a beautiful human being, we love you Tina ❤❤❤
When an actress or actor does not resemble any physical characteristics of whom they are portraying and makes you see the essence of the person through their performance as Angela Bassett did portraying Tina Turner, then you KNOW they are the real deal and although her peers cannot give her her flowers in accolades, we as her fans can just as the great queen of rock n roll did those many years ago when she chose Ms. Bassett to portray her-#RIPTinaTurner
@@Elly3981Me too lol, ppl will always have different perspectives 😅 I hope those words were said strictly in the context of Angela and Tina and not from other politics mumbo jumbo Angela definitely made me do double and triple takes, and it all felt too real, not like a movie at all. I'm so glad my mother let me watch that film early, so I had a full understanding of what my Grandpa meant when he said "Don't let no boy sell you a wooden nickel". Whew. Angela and Tina saved me.

Angela Bassett is from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She should have won an Oscar for her performance. "Ambition eclipsed adversity" Tina Turner, we are mourning your loss. You will be missed. For your enduring legacy we are grateful and thankful 🙏😭💝
TT was raised Baptist, Turner embraced Buddhism whole-heartedly in middle age and said its teachings changed her life. “I came to understand that any achievement stems from inner change and only you have the power to realize and change,” she told Harvard Business Review. “The more I studied Buddhist principles, the deeper I dug within myself and cleaned up whatever attitudes or habits were standing in my way.” Simply the best ~ better than all the rest "
Ridiculous that they only inducted her as a solo artist at 81! This should have happened in the 80's/90's already! Always the icon. Always the legend. RIP 👑
Oh Graeme, I know it might seem corny but thank you for being vulnerable there for a sec. I know I was too. I couldn't have imagined how hard the news of her passing would hit me. She was one-of-a-kind and truly iconic and incomparable - simply the best. 😭😭😭💔 Have you watched her performance of Let's Stay Together from 1983? She performed it at The Tube. Look it up if you haven't - it's magic. 🙏🏽
May she rest in musical heaven. Thank you for sharing your voice and life with us. My deepest condolences to her family, friends and all of her fans. May she live on in all our hearts.😥🕊️💜🙏🏽
My mum adored Tina, so I grew up listening to her music. It was the 2nd concert I ever went to at 14yo with her. I was blown away. We played Simply The Best at her funeral, and now they are rocking together up in the ether.
She was so much of my childhood!...I'm 46 now and now she inspires me by her strength and her willingness to overcome her pain she went thru in life....people like you are never forgotten... Because you my queen are a legend...and they never die...show God some dance moves up there.

Speechless Angela, you nailed it!! So true and genuine as you spoke those beautiful words about Tina. You gave her the grace and respect she deserves. Bless you♥
Thank you for the realness. Tina was the sound track to my youth. She shone with her strength, charisma and her unstoppable joy. She taught forgiveness and that individual triumph comes from living her best life. ❤🎉
"I had a very hard life that i didn't put blame on anything or anyone for, i lived through it I got through it with no blame and I'm a happy person", Tina Turner. She was a kind person who fought back with her resilience and by living well. Its time to rest now Tina you will forever be Simply The Best. My condolences to her husband Erwin Bach.
She will always be in our hearts my friend Lisa and i pray to God to give you a lot of beautiful days, and I hope God bless you to have a great day today, I'm Roy from Happy camp California. Where are you from ?
We lost yet, another icon. It was too sad to know that the States did not give her the platform she deserved. May your beautiful soul Rest in Peace, Queen.
Excellent segment. Thank you so much. Tina freed herself and empowered so many to stand w/ their truths and move forward against any adversity. We were blessed to be in her existence. Angela has the same effect. There will come a day of recognition and award for her. Thank by supporting the remarkable people in our lives now before they leave us. They don't have to be singers or movie stars. Family & friends will do but if there is a quality gem that inspires the best in you & fails to be recognized then show some love.
I'm sure she is enjoying her children in heaven. They must be so excited that they are celebrating their mother's arrival. I wouldn't be surprised if they even have thrown her a big bash, a Welcome Home Party! She must be having a good time as she's feeling overwhelmed. I won't be surprised either people in heaven are giving her a reward. A reward bigger than she ever got! As for you Angela you are rewarded. You won a bigger award with all the women whom have been abused. You may not have seen it, but with all these emails, just look at the lives you touched! You portrayed the part of Tina so we'll, that there aren't enough words to describe! I just hope that this not only help us women, but will teach a lesson to every man who has abused women. Plus, what drugs does to a person. That if they want to heal themselves, there are many alternatives today. That if they seek God's help, he can not only forgive them, but lead them towards healing. Yet, only with an open mind, that it won't be easy because there will be struggles. However, there will be requirements which is faith, commitment, patience and determination. Keeping this in mind and continuously trusting in Our Lord, the reward will come gradually as you continue to keep on focusing on Him!
Tina showed herself and the world what she was made of, inner strength, fabulous talent, such a kindness beyond any words, one majestic entertainer who took our breath away. RIP wonderful, wonderful, Tina. Angela made Tina proud doing an epic portrayal of her. We will miss her so much, Angela.

Tina was amazing. I still remember my first impression and where I was when I first heard Tina singing Rolling. I was a teenager. That song never grew old. It’s so wonderful that Tina and Irwin Bach found each other and had a beautiful relationship for decades.
Those words Tina told Angela would have made me melt. Im glad Tina was fully happy as she thrived in Europe with the love of her life. She deserved all the love she received from everyone. She truly is an inspiration. She will live on in our hearts and we will continue to see her live in the artists of today and the future. We love you Tina, and thank you.

I couldn't agree more Graeme! Loved your raw emotions no need to apologize! This one definitely hurt us all! May she rest peacefully! ❤🕊
All the trauma that Tina went through because of Ike was very sad. I praise her for finally rising above all that and becoming a most special icon for women everywhere. Rest in peace, Tina, and thank you, Angela, for your beautiful portrayal of her. 💓
R.I.P to a true legend and pioneer of music. Your legacy will forever live on Ms. Turner 👑👑👑💯💯💯💯
QUEEN OF ROCK N ROLL💖💖🙏🙏💖💖🙏
SIMPLY THE BEST HAIR OF ALLLLL ❗❗
She's so well-loved around the world. This world is missing a wonderful human being with great talent.
Wow Graeme 😢 Reading Angela Bassett's words had the same affect on me. Can't believe she's gone. Such an inspiration. RIP #Tinaturner
I’ve been crying all day - I thought she would outlive everyone - a powerhouse and a true lady. Forever young and always classy 💔
@ Louise .. me too. It's so upsetting.
Hahahahaha
A life well lived and a story for us all. My mother went through an abusive relationship. While it wasn’t as physically brutal as Tina’s more so mental abuse, as a then child, it was rough to witness. I’m amazed at the strength for Tina because in many ways, my mother saw the similarities and had this crazy strength in her as well to get away from this situation. While my mother has gone on to be with the Lord, I am thankful for Tina in sharing this dark part of her life to shine a light for so many others. Rest well Queen, you have truly done it all and deserve it.
Oh My God... I Saw Tina Turner In Concert When She Came To Columbia South Carolina....She Was A Truly An Amazing Musical Artist On So Many Levels! What A Tremendously Unique And Wonderful Singer Placed In The World To Inspire, Delight And Visually Amaze With Her Every Appearance....I Absolutely Love Her Songs Typical Male, We Don't Need Another Hero (Beyond Thunderdome) And Better Be Good To Me! ❤️ Love Your Artistry Tina Turner!! I Hope You Are In A Better Place.... 🙏 May Jesus And God Be With Us All Who Believe In True Salvation....Amen! (🌎🌐🌍Tremble, Barry💥Atlanta, GA)

What's Love Got to Do With It , brings me to tears every time.

I don't think anyone could've played Tina Turner better than Angela Bassett!!
She did not live her life through her skin, she lived her life as an artist.
We all got in our feelings over her passing. She was so loved. Tina Turner, a true legend & icon. R I.P. 🌹
Really? I thought Angela Bassett did resemble Tina as a young women.
Ms Tina TURNER will not be Forgotten.❤She was A Great Dancer , Singer, Actress Wife Mother.
Rest ln Peace❤
miss her 😢
@@Elly3981Me too lol, ppl will always have different perspectives 😅 I hope those words were said strictly in the context of Angela and Tina and not from other politics mumbo jumbo
Angela definitely made me do double and triple takes, and it all felt too real, not like a movie at all. I'm so glad my mother let me watch that film early, so I had a full understanding of what my Grandpa meant when he said "Don't let no boy sell you a wooden nickel". Whew. Angela and Tina saved me.
Thank you, not just real said, excellent excellent excellent ❤❤❤❤😊
Angela Bassett you are a gem and your words brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for this segment of respect paid to the late Queen Tina Turner. The Angels are saying enter the kingdom because you are " Simply the Best." We lost three of the best.
I know this is not possible yet after TINA survived Ike and became the Solo Queen of Rock and roll in 1988 I thought she would live forever. Thank You Graeme for this tender tribute alongside Ms Angela Bassett x!
Words of love strength FAITH and comfort flows through Angela Bassett for Tina Turner. They couldn't not have picked a better role and a better person to embrace the Spirit and wisdom of Tina Turner. May her Soul Rock In Peace and Rest In Paradise❤
Thank you for being vulnerable with us. It hurt me so bad to hear of her passing. She will truly be missed ❤
As a survivor of DV, Thank you Mrs. Tina Turner for Standing! And pushing forward through it all ...And giving me the example of PERSERVERNCE...one of my favorite words. S.I.Prince of Peace Jesus Christ, He gave me the true meaning of the word, Jesus saved me , Deliver me, kept and still keeping me through DV, and helping me consistently to STAND,in the face of adversity and BE, JUST BE, ALL HE CALLED ME TO BE, VICTORIOUS!condolences to your family 😢❤❤❤
Wow well articulated, how are you doing today Edna i hope everything is fine with you?
I listen Tina since the sixty. She is a beautiful She is the best lady RIP
Angela Bassett is from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She should have won an Oscar for her performance.
"Ambition eclipsed adversity"
Tina Turner, we are mourning your loss.
“The more I studied Buddhist principles, the deeper I dug within myself and cleaned up whatever attitudes or habits were standing in my way.”
Simply the best ~ better than all the rest "
Ridiculous that they only inducted her as a solo artist at 81! This should have happened in the 80's/90's already! Always the icon. Always the legend. RIP 👑
It is too late
Oh Graeme, I know it might seem corny but thank you for being vulnerable there for a sec. I know I was too. I couldn't have imagined how hard the news of her passing would hit me.
She was one-of-a-kind and truly iconic and incomparable - simply the best. 😭😭😭💔
Have you watched her performance of Let's Stay Together from 1983? She performed it at The Tube. Look it up if you haven't - it's magic. 🙏🏽
You summed it up perfectly! Tina is and will always be an icon and Angela played her so amazingly. I don’t mind admitting I cried a lot
May she rest in musical heaven. Thank you for sharing your voice and life with us. My deepest condolences to her family, friends and all of her fans. May she live on in all our hearts.😥🕊️💜🙏🏽
Thank you, will said. I am in full agreement.
RIP Tina. You'll always be simply the best and thank you for sharing your many gifts with the world!❤
She will always I mean ALWAYS be in my heart I've been of fan of hers ever since my mom introduced me to her ❤️♥️ Her spirit will always live on .
Some of the most beautiful, truthful and down to earth words I have ever heard. Heart felt words forever informing all generations, and seen individuals how our lives are always waiting to lived beyond measure!
Wonderful strong woman that endured so much but remained strong. We love you Tina and you will be greatly missed!!!

Thank you for the realness. Tina was the sound track to my youth. She shone with her strength, charisma and her unstoppable joy. She taught forgiveness and that individual triumph comes from living her best life. ❤🎉

I am completely choked up since her passing. May she rest now after having achieved the greatness she deserved. Thank you for this.
I just saw the tagline and immediately started crying. I didn't know until now.
I’m sorry
"I had a very hard life that i didn't put blame on anything or anyone for, i lived through it I got through it with no blame and I'm a happy person", Tina Turner.
She was a kind person who fought back with her resilience and by living well. Its time to rest now Tina you will forever be Simply The Best. My condolences to her husband Erwin Bach.

Hope you don't mind me asking 😊🤔
We lost yet, another icon. It was too sad to know that the States did not give her the platform she deserved. May your beautiful soul Rest in Peace, Queen.
My Queen Rest in Heavenly Peace 🙏🏽❤️ Rolling on the River ⭐️...
What a loss! Truly an legend in Every sense of the word. RIP Tina Turner! 💐
One brave woman. What a life she had. I hope she is at peace and reunited with her kids.
Perfectly worded! I will always admire Tina Turner for her unique vocals.. and her vigor to live. Rest in infinite peace Ms. Turner❤️
Thank you, Tina for the performances, life lessons and the ability to attain impossible dreams!!!
Best tribute to this beautiful Icon! RIP Tina Turner🙏❣️
Tina life is a perfect example of how to rise in the midst of trauma. Loved her as the beautiful artist and human she lived.
HOW MUCH HAPINESS THAT LADY BRING TO THE WORLD WITH HER SONGS. THANK YOU TINA , REST IN PEACE
Tina was amazing. I still remember my first impression and where I was when I first heard Tina singing Rolling. I was a teenager. That song never grew old. It’s so wonderful that Tina and Irwin Bach found each other and had a beautiful relationship for decades.
A beautiful soul. She was born in my home state of Tennessee 😇
Nutbush City Limits❤
Those words Tina told Angela would have made me melt. Im glad Tina was fully happy as she thrived in Europe with the love of her life. She deserved all the love she received from everyone. She truly is an inspiration. She will live on in our hearts and we will continue to see her live in the artists of today and the future. We love you Tina, and thank you.
My deepest condolences to the family, friends, loved ones and colleagues of, Tina Turner. May her soul rest in eternal 🌹peace. She truly was, "simply the best!"
Got me choked up. Cant believe this amazing icon is gone!! The world will NEVER forget you Tina! I was lucky enough to go to one of her concerts in Dallas Tx. I believe it was early 2000's. IT WAS AMAZING! THOSE LEGS!!! Rest easy beautiful lady. A part of my life just went with you Tina.
She and Tina both deserved that Oscar damnit.
Oh I have cried so much since yesterday. I am 35 and I have listened and loved Tina since I was 3. 33 years of admiration - such a sad day
One of the greatest female singers ever and a down to earth person she will be missed
Tina gave us all so much .There are so many wonderful ,fun memories attached to her music. Which for those of us who have been lucky enough to have been around over her time will cherish .❤
I was fortunate enough to see Tina perform live three times, and she was amazing! Simply the best! Thank you, Tina, for being in the world. Say hi to Bowie for us.
Just watching Angela Bassett speak so fiercely but eloquently about Tina brought me to tears. I see in her the class of the 'Queen of Wakanda'. But also the passion that drove her to play Tina Turner in the movie (which I've never seen but will do so). ❤
