Just to add, Lochinvars website had a great tutorial on servicing. Step by step instructions. they do also sell a cleaning kit with brush attachments. i use vinegar for the heat exchangers, not the best smell, but damn it does some magic. do not use simple green.
Not sure if the wall hang has a pin hole that allows a full test of the system, but the floor model does and it does fully run to max temp when the test setting is going.
Great vid. I have an A.O. Smith combi which is very similar to this. Should I be doing this whole procedure every year? Two years? Is there anything else I should also do like a descaling flush or a new ignitor, etc? As an engine tech it feels crazy to replace control boards as maintenace but I understand why.
That kit is for a contractor that installs the Lochinvar noble boilers. Then you have all the part needed to service the boiler. Get the customer up and running. Then u don't have to order. It not a maintenance kit!
I have never had so much trouble as with the Lochinvar KBN155, 3 control boards in 15 years... getting a hold of them has been almost impossible.... currently buying an NTI boiler to replace the Lochinvar.... as crazy as it may be NTI actually did a video conference with me and help select the right boiler, which was not their most expensive ... bye bye... Lochinvar...

Clean the heat exchanger correctly and the test will level out on combustion. I wouldn’t adjust the gas valve without cleaning it first.

You shouldn’t need to do this whole process every year or two. This is Lochinvars 5 year kit. But Descaling and cleaning Ignitors every year… yes.
Yeah. I think they bought the service kit. Not the maintenence kit.

There should be a drain valve on your near boiler piping.

mine wasn't even a year old and kept quitting the first winter really wishing i keep my old 20+ one and saved the money for something else
