- 🌞 Winter Off-Grid: Installing Solar Panels on Our Australian Homestead🌞
Join us on our 140-acre off-grid property in the heart of the Australian winter as we navigate the challenges and triumphs of our journey towards self-sufficient living. In this video, we take you through a day in our life, installing solar panels on our shed roof to capture more of the sun's precious energy.

- Wood Heater: We fixed the glass door of our wood heater in one of our other latest videos and use it to defrost frozen rice.
- Garden Struggles: Learn about the toll of the cold on our vegetable garden and our efforts to protect it with frost cloth.
- Insulation Success: After two years of battling falling insulation, we've finally figured out how to use wooden wedges to keep it in place.
- Truffles' Adventures: Our dog, Truffles, tries to stay warm and gets excited about car rides and kangaroo sightings.
- Fresh Orange Juice: Enjoy a refreshing moment as we squeeze organic oranges from a local farmer while dreaming of our own future harvest.
Daily Life on the Homestead:
We also share our experiences with wildlife encounters, splitting wood for the fire, and dealing with a noisy flock of corellas. Every day brings new challenges and rewards as we build a self-sufficient life in this wild and beautiful land.

Well done Paul, hopefully your panels will get better as the daylight lengthens too. Do you know about a site called Suncalc I think it is. It's great for checking sun position at any time of day and month of the year, either for planting or solar. I'm glad you got some insulation to start.
