I know this video is 3 years old but I got a 2010 Mercedes S600 and I just found out that I have also a gas leak coming from the same area, another problem that I have is that my seats are not like the car you are working on

I have a 2000 honda accord and it leaks bad when I fill up but nothing when its 3 quarter's or less. Have not had it looked at yet but hope it's not a costly fuel tank. Any suggestions?
Tim Burrows Hi, There is the option of being the filling hose to the tank, but the safest thing is the gasoline pump, the cap is made of plastic and over the years it makes small cracks and throws the gasoline
Is this something to have an eye on and get fixed asap or can i drive around with a small fuel leak?

Hi I had the same issue on mitsubishi galant 2002 gas smell strong and was leak on one side of gas tank thought maybe gas tank had leak then noticed the top fuel pump like this vid had gas on top of it not sure if i get new fuel pump too because when i took out fuel pump the black ring that tightens it on was loose i twisted it and it came right off so not sure gas leaking because it was loose and if i tighten maybe fine or just replace with new fuel pump
I have a question bro. My car is doin ok but when the weather is too hot like in Phoenix, I smell a bit of gas inside my car. That happened only when I go in Phoenx. Should I worry about this? Thank you bro.

I have a 92 Chevy K1500 reg cab shortbed and its leaking fuel too. I filled up at the gas station and noticed the smell shortly after I got home. Thoughts? I appreciate your time and expertise.

Can you have a leak only at highway speeds? (higher pump pressure? I am asking cause I dont smell gas but I spend tons of gas on highway speeds. I have a 1.4l 4 cylinder car and its gettign horriblw gs mileage out of a sudden.
We have the same problem with 1999 Chevy express van,after filling it it smells a lot and we just had replaced a new pump.....do we have to go under the car and check the for leaks??

Hey oz I have a 2008 gmc 1500 and I'm hearing some sort of a metal vibration ring noise from the rear end, any idea what it could be? It sounds awful (mostly when Its idling or sometimes when i let off the gas while driving
On a hunch ima say rear differential cuz I had that problem with my 08 Silverado a while back. Change out the gear oil and check for obvious damage first. (It's probably overdue anyway for some love to the diff)

It needs an actual spark to ignite. It's not good luck for no fire when fuel touches electrical stuff it's just bad luck when there is a fire.
What if the fuel cap comes on changed the gas cap with a new one 2002 mercury sable 4dr drivin it fuel light cap is still on?
This can just mean that you have a large leak

I have an issue when I fill up the tank it immediately leaks and drips from under the car. I cannot find the leak. I recently had someone put in a new pump and filter. My fuel gauge stopped working a couple days after now this.

My dad has a 2001 Chevy 5.3. Some idiot wannabe mechanic changed the knock sensors. But now the truck idles crazy high like redlining. What could it be?
avalanche make sure if on the throttle body it is the sensor one or the cabled one.
Why wasn't there an engine code error? Would an odb2 sensor pick this up.

Could a leak of this nature also happen if you car is left parked at an angle? (e.g. - The right side of the car is tilted slightly higher than the left.)
I filled my tank on Friday, didn't drive over the weekend, and Sunday afternoon my neighbor let me know it looked like I was leaking oil. The only problem with that was that it was at the wrong end (you could see a slow drip off of the fuel tank at the rear of the SUV), and it REEKED like gas. I'm assuming (hoping) for now that the dark color is just gunk/crud that's built up underneath getting rinsed by the fuel. I moved the car to a level spot, let it sit for about 30 min, and the dripping stopped. (Hopefully it's not just pooling somewhere else now.)
I'm bringing my car in tomorrow, but this video at least gives me some hope that I'm not about to have to drop a whole ton of money on something crazy just over a month away from Christmas.
You shouldn’t have any leak. Tank is a closed system that makes sure all the gas stays in place. You might just have a break or leak
