Now this is what I call a video tutorial! 😉👍🏾
This is SO pro... the stuff they don't tell you in most tutorials! I've been waiting a long time for material like this, thanks so much!
EXCELENT video! One of the best tutorials on pro tools on youtube!! These are all VERY useful and I appreciate you get straight to the point for every feature and point made. VERY useful video and great presentation!
probably the best PT key command video on youtube
I cant tell you how much this video has helped me!!! ESPECIALLY the hitting of the "n" button!! Was def driving me batty!!!!!
Fab talked about getting frustrated from losing a selection. (COMMAND + OPTION+Z) restores your last selection. In a beat detective workflow, I also use (SHIFT+/) which toggles the link timeline and edit selection so that you can maintain your precise selection while listening to different parts of it. These are VERY useful to me when I am editing drums.
You are SO the man!!! You are a great teacher... straight to the point and really clear.... I learned PT in a few weeks because of you. THANKS A TON!
Wow what an amazing video great entraining host. I have just spent 1 hour writing down all the key commands on to sticky notes in front of me in my studio. There is a lot of shortcuts which I’m sure will take time to learn. Thank you very much for this video I really appreciate it🙏🏽
amazing James!! this is why this video is here for!! we hope you got all you need!! cheers
The best protools vid EVER...thank you!
Another shortcut that it´s really good: For alternating WAVE view and PLAY LISTS view: CONTROL+WINDOWS+ALT+ Left/right arrows. I think this shortcut is one of the TOP 5 for heavy Pro Tools users.
+pureMix Windows/Alt??? wtf? what freakin' system is THAT?
One of the finest How To vids I have seen about ProTools ... well done... and thanks for taking the time to do this.
Shift + > for fast forward and < for rewind is cool, i use it all the time. Cmd + 1 for zoom is nice as well, always leave it on "single zoom". Just zoom out and back in with this shortcut. Great for very large sessions.
Also, you can use shift with the P and ; to select a group of channels to mute or solo them for eg.
Excellent video. Clearly articulated and quick to the point.
the best video about key commands in Protools ... thnx a lot
Thanks Fab for these amazing tips! :D this is so valuable! Here's one -> Ctrl + M to mute the selected clip

hitting thumbs up on this because it's gonna ensure I keep getting a paycheck in the near future. lmao. awesome video! simple explanations, yet comprehensive enough to give me examples of when i'll need to use some of these shortcuts
We're all getting older! But wiser. Thanks man. Still relevant.
This is a very efficient video. Perfect! Boom, Done ;) - Very Quick!
Most excellent! I have shared this with my students and many others… Most of these commands go back to ProTools 3. Wonderful stuff!
I like how if you are in GRID mode, you can change the grid value by using control+command and the +/- keys on the numeric key pad.
Thanks for posting the copy faders to sends, I always forget that one.
Best PT vid period!
This is absolutely the best Pro Tools Tutorial on UA-cam! Thank You!
I have used these for I think 2 or 3 years now, didn't know they mostly came from this video. Really cool stuff, how about a part 2????

Straight forward and helpful video. Thanks!
Thanks. Great info. too much to remember but sure I will over time...
This is a lifesaver! Thanks so much!
Thanks for the video, some good shortcut tips here.
Could you do a video on the benefits of using the mix window as opposed to just the edit window by itself?
Really awesome video, appreciate the work you put it to make such a nice instructional video!
A very good tutorial, many thanks!
Fab, you are a PRO! Miss the lighting days at the Palace in Saugus MA.

thanks for the vid.. just started with PT and with this video my life is so easy after writing down the shortcuts. im using the boom for the drums and i guess is not possible to take all pattern notes and copy them into PTs secuencer? 16 steps is a little short for me. thanks 10000!
Awesome. Thank you! Great tips! I already knew the one about how to get people to leave the room, but all the rest were extremely useful ;)

Great video! Gonna take a while for them all to sink in but some really useful stuff there!
straight and a very fast tutorial
boom very nice
Thank you very much.
On the first row of sends, click with right button of you mouse and select which send you wanna see as a fader.. For example (Send A). Then get it back to "basic view" by selecting "assignments"! :)
"Copying to Sends" is copying you're current volume fader position to particular send selected by menu..
Try it! :) ..and greetings from Finland! /Henrik
Excellent, so clear!
Great refresher!
