Thanks for the alternator change video!! My Jeep has almost 200K miles, I'm going to go change the alternator before I end up stuck somewhere with a dead one. Super easy change. We just jumped through hoops getting stuck on the road with my wife's car's alternator, so the fear is in me. Preventative maintenance. What a concept.
cheeeers my man, used this to make space to replace my water pump without pulling a radiator. stuff like this could save people a ton of money if they were willing to diy
Video helped me change my 08 3.7 Cherokee, forgot the electrical loop above the alternator, but figured it out when engine light flashed when testing electric components lol
Where is your Engine FAN on that Jeep??? That inst a 3.7L ?? I have 4 different Jeep all different years and all 4.7L have the fan for cool the engine plus the electric one for the Radiator. Thanks for sharing.
Could be the (PCM) or Powertrain Control Module. Did that fix it? I have one of these but it's a Limited. Same engine, and I am trying to troubleshoot the problem. Last night my wife came home with check engine lights on, and dead battery. It won't stay running with dead battery so makes me think alternator but I heard there is a recall on the PCM because of defect with them, and PCM regulates the alternator.

4.7. It is right up against the radiator; under the black "shroud/hood" in front of the motor.

Great video. I subscribed. UA-cam is awesome.
I noticed you didn’t show the part about putting that wiring harness on the back of the alternator. That’s a pain in the ass.
Anybody know where you can find that boot that goes on the hot alternator output?
Did you get exsessive ripple print out at advanced? Or test the bad one
Not quite sure what you mean by "exsessive ripple print out at advanced?" But I gave advance auto the bad alternator to avoid a core charge.
Ace of All Trades it's a test they do on starter altenator and battery
Ace of All Trades if your altenator is gone apparently it will display excessive ripple
@@onelanebridge_ oh ok, gotcha. No, I didn't have it tested at Advance. Just changed it.
Ace of All Trades which way tightens or loosens belt pulley? I know that sounds dumb I really don't know break right to loosen?
The alternator is going bad! REPLACE REPLACE REPLACE!!! IT WILL CATCH ON FIRE!!!
I hope it's just alternator an not wires
It was the alternator, and i ended up changing the batter shortly there after.
Thank you :)
Your first mistake is to use Autozone for an alternator🤣🤣
I have a headache from watching this.
