Love Rammstein. Was getting my daughters lunch ready watching this then here comes my 3yr old SMASHING into me. She starts jumping around wanting to mosh with me.
Ok my fellow trash talkers, here is a detailed explanation of how "du hast" is supposed to be meant. "Du hast" in German cannot *directly* be translated into English. Without further context, (unless a certain verb is following) "du has(s)t" could mean both: "you have (verb) me" or "you hate me". if you say "du hast mich" it is supposed to be "du hasst mich" (double ss) (you hate me) but if you add another verb at the end then the verb "hast" is supposed to be an adverb and written as "hast" (single s) (have). "du hast mich gefragt" translates to "you've asked me" you could of course use another (accusative) verb. e.g. like "lügen" (to lie) "du hast mich belogen" (you have lied to me) or "schlagen" "du hast mich geschlagen" (you've hit/beaten me). Side note: It's important to use an accusative verb. If you use a dative verb then "mich" will become "mir". At the middle of the song Till reveals: "du hast mich gefragt ... und ich hab nichts gesagt "which means just "you have asked me .... and I said nothing". I hope this makes it clear.
I'd not agree. I know several metal bands that must have been seen. for example Babymetal, especially with their song "Headbanger (legeng of 1997)" live.

Saw them at The Edge in late 97(think it was December) in Palo Alto, CA with KMFDM. A small venue to say the least. Loved the band since. I never would have thought they would become this big back then.
the 'paris'-bluray is the most impressive concert film ever...it's by jonas akerlund, famous for his work for madonna, the prodigy and many more. he also directed the movies 'spun', 'lords of chaos', 'polar' - just to name a few.
@@nashwhole7230 I also like Amerika better. It's an easier DVD to watch. The "making of" section of the Paris concert explained why they produced it to be choppy. It's meant to be more personal for the viewer than a straight forward concert film. I still get a headache watching it, tho.
If you ever get the chance to see them live, BELIEVE me you will have a 100% full bodyorgasm, head to toe! Their shows are AMAZING 🤘🏻 I'm still holding my ticket for their show in Sweden hoping to see them for the 5th time 🤩
It's "Du Hast", so it means "You Have", whereas "Du Hasst" means "You Hate", BUT there is an English version you might wanna check out as well, where Till sings "You Hate". ua-cam.com/video/cRQwEV05CPY/v-deo.html
Yea, Till on the UK import only CD vocalizes Hast as Hate through out the song. It's real interesting to to listen to Till's vocals back to back in German & mostly English. Still better in his mother tongue. It's also great to see 50,000+ French men & women & everything in between screaming out songs in German.
The lead vocalist is a licensed and certified pyrotechnician - That’s the only way their concerts can be the way they are; Fire, fireworks, lightning bolts, all of it. It’s actually required in Germany if you want to perform with things like that
i dont know why there is a debate on what du hast means when theres actually an english version of the song, it was a bonus track off he sehnsucht album. also let me correct you (as far as i know) till lindemann the frontman is certified in pyro
i can answer your Question on the debate, that's because the English version is just that a version it is not a direct translation so it does not represent the original German song, they can not do a direct translation of the song so they made a version that sounded good.
@@headingley72 Exactly. A direct translation to English wouldn't rhyme or fit the instrumental of the song, so they made English lyrics that fit the song. Doesn't necessarily mean the English lyrics and German lyrics are direct translations of one another. In this case, they're not. The only reason why the debate exists is because the English version exists. Especially when you bear in mind that in order for it to mean You Hate, it would be spelled Du Hasst. It's not. Hast (one S) means Have.
@@TheLanceUppercut Yeah, same with the English version of Engel, which just sounds wrong to me in English. I don't speak German fluently, but I do enjoy singing a LOT of their songs in German. "God damn, not an angel when I die" sucks compared to the original: "Gott weiß ich will kein Engel sein" (God knows I don't want to be an angel).
I saw them close out Download Festival in the UK around 2013, and when they ended with this I swear to God I was stood a good 50 feet away and the flames coming from the stage were lighting up my cheeks. I was sweating like a nun in a sex store afterwards haha, imagine how the band feel!!

I saw them play this in Atlanta at the Philip's Arena. They are going to do 1 more American tour and if you get the chance, you have to go. They have a bunch of other hits as well
Sonne, Ich Tu Dir Weh, & Benzin are also great live performances heavy on pyro. React to Deutschland live if you can find a video without Richard's dj intro. Edit carefully & it might not get blocked but still worth a listen. It's their most recent mega hit. Flake (pronounced flak-uh) is the keyboardist. Till is vocalist. Richard is lead guitar & Paul is rhythm guitar. Ollie is bassist & Schneider's on drums.
Hey guys, you should check out Ramm4 live at Hellfest!! Such an awesome song, catchy as hell 🤣 there's no studio version recorded, and the lyrics are the names of their songs. So epic!!

They are stage beasts.
It's not just the music, he really brings the crowd to a state of mind on live performance.
Rammstein are definitely in my top 3 for live shows so fucking good 100%
YAAASS!!!! Was I the only one hollering at them to stop headbanging so they wouldn't miss the bazooka shot?!?
My CD of Sehnsuct had an English version & Til sang, 'you hate', wasn't a fan so I traded it for a copy w/out it. I 💜 'Stripped' though!!
I agree for y'all to check out Mein Teil live next.
I just bought my tickets for next year .Also cant wait for you guys to do the live "Rammstein- Rammstein"
Saw their show in Stockholm 2019, best i ever seen!! Have tickets for 2 shows next year!
Fun fact of the day: The lead singer Till Lindemann was a Swimmer when he was younger and was shortlisted to go to the 1980 Olympics in Moscow but an Injury took him out and he never went back.
Amazing video! Saw these guys for my first time in Detroit back in '01. They opened up for SOAD and Slipknot along with Ice Cube and Mudvayne. One of the greatest shows ever....
He is also into pyrotechnics so all of that fire and rocket / fireworks at the end was all designed by him.
I remember when this first came out, before l went to the street races l would sit in a car and listen to this as loud as l could.... Helps get me in the mood 😁
One of the few bands still on my bucket list as well. Would LOVE to see one of their shows live
Where do you live? I’m in the USA and they are scheduled here in 2022! It’s on my list as well! They were supposed to be here in 2020, then it was pushed to 2021. Now, it’s 2022! I hope it happens 😊
Seeing them live is on my bucket list. Also love the Garbage Pail Kids shirt.
Fully recommended, I'm not even that much of a Rammstein fan and I can honestly say their live show was absolutely mindblowing.
Same here brother... Can't wait to see then live.
I love Austria. SKål from Norway
They are live in Boston next year in September. I live in Pittsfield, Ich werde gehen
Love this video! Thanks! ✌❤
I love been following you guys for a couple years. This my favorite. This is my favorite reaction for motivation to do anything. Keep posting reactions please. You guys are the best
I've got tickets for Rammstein next year. I CANNOT FLIPPING WAIT!!!!
Saw them at The Edge in late 97(think it was December) in Palo Alto, CA with KMFDM. A small venue to say the least. Loved the band since. I never would have thought they would become this big back then.
Hell yeah! KMFDM is badass too
the 'paris'-bluray is the most impressive concert film ever...it's by jonas akerlund, famous for his work for madonna, the prodigy and many more. he also directed the movies 'spun', 'lords of chaos', 'polar' - just to name a few.
I disagree, although the video quality is amazing there is way too much camera snapping. Just my opinion
@@nashwhole7230 I also like Amerika better. It's an easier DVD to watch.
The "making of" section of the Paris concert explained why they produced it to be choppy. It's meant to be more personal for the viewer than a straight forward concert film. I still get a headache watching it, tho.
No matter how many times I've watched this I still get pumped up
Rammstein played Family Values in '98. I saw it...Orgy, Rammstein, Ice Cube, Limp Bizkit, and Korn... incredible
oh my god, this is absolutely amazing, love Rammstein, thanks guys and please more reactions, best band ever 💜💕🌺
If you ever get the chance to see them live, BELIEVE me you will have a 100% full bodyorgasm, head to toe! Their shows are AMAZING 🤘🏻 I'm still holding my ticket for their show in Sweden hoping to see them for the 5th time 🤩
Whether in Argentina, France, Australia of New York.....millions of fans sing in perfect German those songs live.
I've seen em twice. Something or someone is on fire at virtually all times
It's "Du Hast", so it means "You Have", whereas "Du Hasst" means "You Hate", BUT there is an English version you might wanna check out as well, where Till sings "You Hate".
ua-cam.com/video/cRQwEV05CPY/v-deo.html
As a German American I can confirm : ) 🇩🇪
Yea, Till on the UK import only CD vocalizes Hast as Hate through out the song. It's real interesting to to listen to Till's vocals back to back in German & mostly English. Still better in his mother tongue. It's also great to see 50,000+ French men & women & everything in between screaming out songs in German.
Beat me to it madness lol. Good call
The Engilsh version was the last track at the end of the Sensucht album
To this day ranks as one of the best live shows I've ever been to across many genres
omg best reaction so far of this live performance! loving your guys energy!
9:30 bingo. That's exactly what it is. It has the grungy, dirty, aesthetic effect he's going for, but is also practical.
As amazing as the video is, it does not beat the real thing. The flames heat on your face.... Loved Rammstein in Johannesburg, South Africa 2011
The lead vocalist is a licensed and certified pyrotechnician - That’s the only way their concerts can be the way they are; Fire, fireworks, lightning bolts, all of it. It’s actually required in Germany if you want to perform with things like that
Brilliant video. The energy, pyrotechnics and power of this one is fucking incredible. Well done!!! Love Rammstein!
Probably your most enjoyable reaction so far 😂
i dont know why there is a debate on what du hast means when theres actually an english version of the song, it was a bonus track off he sehnsucht album. also let me correct you (as far as i know) till lindemann the frontman is certified in pyro
i can answer your Question on the debate, that's because the English version is just that a version it is not a direct translation so it does not represent the original German song, they can not do a direct translation of the song so they made a version that sounded good.
Yoooo this is great and you guys have to check out their song Deuchland! Its epic
Yes that song is legit!
I saw them close out Download Festival in the UK around 2013, and when they ended with this I swear to God I was stood a good 50 feet away and the flames coming from the stage were lighting up my cheeks. I was sweating like a nun in a sex store afterwards haha, imagine how the band feel!!
I have to say it... Love your shirt, Smoke. I had my Garbage Pail Kids phase when I was growing up. The nostalgia is real, lol.
TILL this day they were the greatest show I’ve ever been too!!
Man I wish I still had my personal UA-cam right now!
I can not tell you how hype this song gets me, but seeing a couple fellow Georgians get in on it is amazing!!!
Keep up the amazing content guys!! I will be checking your music too!
I bought tix a year out. There are zones in the seats blocked off all throughout the stadium labeled “fire zones”. My bf was psyched. But was like “you know we’re prob leaving w broken bones right”. Yes. I accept that risk.
best concerts I've gone to are the two Rammstein concerts I've gone to, super hot up near the stage though
I saw them play this in Atlanta at the Philip's Arena. They are going to do 1 more American tour and if you get the chance, you have to go.
They have a bunch of other hits as well
Best concert, in whole wide world ,seen them in Edmonton Alberta .would see them again if they came to Canada again
Actually guys, that lightning effect on the keyboardist's hands is not CGI. I've seen Rammstein live, and that is a real, live, on-stage effect.
Hey guys, you should check out Ramm4 live at Hellfest!! Such an awesome song, catchy as hell 🤣 there's no studio version recorded, and the lyrics are the names of their songs. So epic!!
best show ever !! need to see them live
My favorite live videos from Rammstein are Mein Teil and Engel.
I love your reaction videos, you both really get into the music and show such respect for the artists and their craft. Awesome job guys!
These German gentlemen made the French sing German
The album has English versions of Du Hast and Engel. On the English recording they say it as "You Hate Me", but I always thought of the have/hate connection as being a lyrical double entendre, not a bone of contention.
Seen them several times live. They're the best live act period. And yes, it get's hot, especially when they shoot the flame arrow over the crowd.
