Stumbled on your page a few weeks ago. My mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian cancer in March. It had spread aggressively and they gave us a very grim prognosis. Well after seven rounds of chemo, and an extensive surgery - this past Wednesday she heard the words, “No Evidence of Disease”. March-November a whole lot of things changed. Believing the same for you, beautiful one❤️

Yes, but the doctors don’t bring you to the chemo sessions, they don’t ensure you attend every sessions and diligently follow protocol. Other than administering the a treatment, everything is on you. It’s a brutal process that many can’t handle, especially follow up treatments if the initial rounds don’t work.
Doctors can only help as much as the patient shows up and adheres to the treatment. I can tell you as someone who’s actually training to become a physician, when it comes to cancer treatments, doctors have the easy job. It’s a whole lot easier to administer a medication and come up with a treatment plan than it is to actually be the one allowing themself to be poisoned (because that’s what chemo really is) for months on end.
Don’t underestimate your role in improving your health.

Thank you for sharing your positivity. I have stage 4 colon cancer, metastasized to the liver, lungs, and abdominal wall. I know the ups and downs of the journey. I have a port that works similar to your picc line, but it's just under my skin on my chest at my shoulder blade. They put the needle through the skin and into the port for my chemo. I take a pump home with me for 2 days after sitting in the chemo chair for 5 hours. Then I go back to have the pump removed. Cancer is a beast, but there are brighter days, and I try to really appreciate good days.

On Etsy you can buy piccline covers if you don’t already know. I’ve gotten some cool ones. If you have sensitive skin just make sure to tell the person making it and they will set you up with a nice fabric. Also pro tip if I’ve been going places or doing lots of activities in a day generally I use an alcohol prep on the port tubing and cover. Also changing out the piccline cover regularly and washing them may help lessen infection. I was very uptight about keeping my piccline clean. If you ever want to talk more about a piccline or any other medical devices let me know I’d be glad to help you out as best I can.

I just finished chemo for endometrial cancer. I had a mediport instead of a picc line. The mediport is placed above the breast and the line goes directly into the main artery. When the chemo meds are administered, the needle is inserted into the port instead of directly into the skin. It’s definitely less invasive and less painful although it isn’t totally without discomfort. I am starting radiation the second week in January even though my scan was clear. It will lower my chance of recurrence from 25% to 7%. Romee, I hope you will overcome this horrible disease and live a long life with a wonderful man and a beautiful family. (And whichever guy you end up with will be a VERY lucky man.) You already have the thing that is most crucial to recovery - a positive attitude. 🙂

I love the story about your weekend 💕 Reminded me of my own life changing story.
When I was 19 I left Sweden to travel the world by my self. 6 month in I met a Swedish guy in Indonesia. On this tiny little island with almost no tourists at all. Long story short.. Had the most amazing 24h. Before I was leaving for... New Zealand!
Six month later we still kept in touch. Emailing each other every other day. When I got back to Sweden we though we just HAD the meet up. See what was really going on. And so we did....
Yesterday we celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary. 14 years together. With two beautiful boys 10 and 8 years old.
Keep fighting, you’re truly an inspiration💪🏻❤️

Your ‘issues’ aren’t any less significant. My friend has a boatload of health issues and gets so mad when I say I don’t have the right to complain about the things that I’m going through, just because she’s going through a lot. What you’re going through is important to you, regardless of what others are going through.

Go Romee. It is heartwarming to see that you take life by the horns. Your trip to Switzerland was a well calculated risk and you trusted your instincts. More people should follow your lead. I too did these things when younger and have had wonderful memories for life. You now have a different journey to face but I can see that your live in the moment attitude will be a big asset. Find the beauty in each day, smell those flowers, find the your story in this unexpected journey ❤

God sends love when it’s needed. A friend’s daughter, age 13, was dying of cancer when three young men, she had never met, came to visit. They played guitar and sang to her weekly. She told her mon that one of the boys said that he loved her. What a blessing at the end if a young girl’s life.

You're a gorgeous soul and I am sending so much love and so many good thoughts for your recovery. My friend was at university in Amsterdam last year and I visited her there, it's one of my favourite places ever.

Hi Romee . I have watched a few cancer stories here on you tube so I get the notifications as you would expect. But your story captivated me. Even though I have seen loads. I have watched your journey and I find ,myself thinking of you even when I am not online. When I see you post online , I jump on it immediately. I love your story about your trip to see your friend.
I am not ill but I will be having a real date tomorrow after a few lockdown zoom dates. It will be safe and I am in good hands. There has also been several weeks of honest and amazing chat. Your words were inspiring. Continue with your great courage and words of enthusiasm. You are an amazing young lady x

Hey girl! We're picc line sisters! If you have any questions about central lines/piccs, I'm basically an expert after having so many over the years. It's our lifeline! Remember, staying positive helps our immune systems, but it's also important to allow yourself to grieve as much as you need to. Scream, cry, pray, vent to friends...do whatever you need to do to help yourself cope. Just don't ever give up!!! Lots of love
