- We are Brian & Jessica, a married couple who started on a life-changing whole food, plant-based weight loss journey back in June 2018. In June 2022, our lives were flipped upside-down when Jessica was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. We continue to share our adventures (highs, lows, struggles & everything in between) in following a plant-based diet while keeping you up-to-date on Jessica's cancer journey. In October 2023, we welcomed our very first child via gestational carrier.

My hubby had kidney cancer also. Took the whole kidney and has been cancer free for 35yrs! He’s 75 now!
🙏❤️🙏
Wow that’s great❤
Holy crap. You guys are having a lifetime worth of experiences in a very short time. Cancer, baby, house, cancer. I'm so sorry, Brian. All of this will make you so strong. Best of luck to you.
Ain't that the truth! 🤣 This whole decade has been the craziest rollercoaster of a time!
I love your positivity, I will be Keeping you’re beautiful family in my prayers 🥰❤️🙏🏾
@@KrocksInTheKitchen did you get the experimental shots? 💉💉💉 Sending prayers to you for a positive outcome 🙏
cancer doctor here. Skinny people get cancer, too. Don't be too hard on yourself! So common to ask, "Why did I get this?" Everyone asks that. Love your positive attitude, best of luck with surgery!
Obesity is just an added risk, especially with regards to kidney function. If one kidney is removed ,the other will be doing more work so functioning might be affected. More so if obesity is an issue.
thank you for this comment!!!!
You still prescribing toxic chemo. You going to speak up about the increase of turbo cancers since the covid jabs were enforced upon us? Probably not, most doctors are morally bankrupt.
@@TonySayers "enforced". wwwhhhahahaa!!!! idiot!
@@TonySayers I think it was the UK who pressed Pf... for answers. They responded, we don't disagree with the findings and we are "deeply sorry."
Some tips...
For one...put yourself in a position to be able to say no, even under duress for the next time.
And two...Dr. Berg has several videos if you need help with the after effects.
And three...I assume you know about the main proactive options? Vitamin D3, clean keto, or carnivore.
I hope you can find peace, and be well.
My father had a kidney removed due to cancer at the age of 52 and lived to be 85 and it never came back. The doctor had said at the time that the kidney, if you have to get cancer, is probably the best place due to the fact that they can remove it intact. Prayers for you.
My aunt had a surprise diagnosis of kidney cancer just like you, over 40 years ago, in her early forties. She had the kidney removed and was fine and dandy for the rest of her life.
I believe someone is watching over you, and I wish youll have the same result as my aunt, if this turns out to be cancer ❤❤❤
100% I was just thinking, the stomach pain and trip to the ER was no coincidence. You were being taken care of and meant to find the kidney issue. Incredible!
Dear Brian, I donated a kidney to my husband. He’s doing great and so am I with only one kidney. I went in on a Tuesday morning and walked out Friday morning. It was uncomfortable for about a week and then it was back to normal. I was walking 12km a day two weeks after that. You’ve got this!❤️🇨🇦
Can I ask what your diet is like with only having 1 kidney?
About 20 years ago my first cousin had an accident with broken ribs and a CT scan found a cancerous tumor on his kidney. You have virtually the same story. I can say that he is alive today because he broke his ribs. Best wishes for a fantastic outcome!
Too many young people getting cancer these days. I am a breast cancer survivor. Stay strong, prayers to you.
Connect the dots with the MRNA vax.
Young ppl getting cancer. It’s tied to the Covid jabs
Wonder what has happened recently
Agreed, too many . Since *2021* the cancer rates have sky rocketed, especially for people under 45.
@@jarrettthomas4865 PFAS in everything, in the water, etc. Other environmental causes.
It’s absolutely crazy how many YOUNG you tube channel folks are getting cancer…Eamon and Bec, Jenny Apple etc.. Praying for you all.
@blucky1250 - I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Jenny Appleton (Jenny Apple) passed away. 😔
Yep, huge increase since a certain injection was given to most of the population.
All are vegan as well
@@c.m.303🙄
Yep there was no such thing as cancer before Covid.
You’re embarrassing yourself. This increase was WAY before C19 and the vax.
People need to look into alternative medicine. You will go no where with the doctors who made money on these shots. And looked the other way when information was coming out about the shots. It’s very heartbreaking. We need to help each other. 😇🙏🏻.
I have a very similar experience. I went to ER for a UTI. They did a CT scan and found a mass on my left kidney. I had my left kidney removed a month later and it was Clear Cell cancer. It was attached to my kidney but nothing else, no spread anywhere else. I am 10 years out and doing FINE! No other treatments, just periodic scans. God was watching out for me and He is doing the same for you! He is such a good, loving and faithful Father! ❤️🙏
So sorry to hear of your diagnosis. My father had a kidney removed when he had kidney cancer in his early 60s. He's doing great at 83, very healthy plant based. He's told by his kidney doctor to limit protein and No Salt! Apparently, salt is very damaging to the kidney. I cook for my parents as I'm plant based and s.o.s free(salt, oil, sugar free).
Good luck losing weight. Focus on oatmeal and berries in the morning, potatoes and lots of veggies, beans that will satiate you during the day. You can do it!!
He certainly is.
Prayers for you Brian. My 15 month old son nearly drowned in a jacuzzi as his dad dozed off watching him. He was rushed to the hospital & chest xrays showed a very large mass on his spine. Neuroblastoma stage 1. Surgeons told me that someone bigger than all of us was watching out for him. If the near drowning hadn't happened, it would have spread because it was already changing shape. God is good & if it isn't our time, he has his way of saving us. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I forgot to say that he is now 24 with no recurrence. I still thank the Lord everyday for watching out for him. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
@@stacieclark-benson688 That's wonderful. I'm so glad he's alright.
Sounds like the doctors are the ones to thank, not some made up character in a fairy tale.
@@icklethepickle Why can you not respect someone else's beliefs. You know people have the right to pick their own religion or no religion at all. You are being inappropriate.
My husband, too, had a kidney removed. He's doing fine. We are whole food plant-based & SOFAS free. I'm praying for you, Brian. We serve a healing God who cares about you & your family. I'm a survivor of uterine cancer.
I know what SOS-free is, but what is SOFAS-free?
Salt, oil, flour, alcohol, sugar.
@@hypnosisforhappiness why would anyone want to be salt free? Our bodies need salt to survive. Smh at everyone buying into the "sodium is bad!" lie that conventional medicine pushes.
I'm glad you are both alright! I am waiting on a biopsy of my uterus. The lining was found to be abnormally thick in an ultrasound. I'm hoping eating this way and low fat (I'm following the Starch Solution but fell off of the wagon for awhile and getting back) will see me through this.
@@bonniespruin6369 I, too, hope that you are ok. I'm praying for you as well. After my surgery the pathology report came back as stage 1 cancer in the endometrial lining. They got it all because for the next 5 years following I had clear CT scans and lab work. Praise God.
I wasn't plant based at the time, but I am now & never going back to a SAD / standard American diet.
My father-in-law had his kidney removed because he had cancer. He’s still doing great 10 years later.
I had a kidney removed. In 2012 I donated one of my kidneys to a stranger. It was an amazing experience. My other kidney is doing great and my labs look just as good as they did before donating it. I hope you don’t have cancer. You guys have been through enough!
My mom had a kidney removed in her 70’s due to cancer. Seven years later the other kidney had a benign tumor. The tumor was removed. She lived with that one kidney until she was 99. Glad you checked out your lungs and sounds like you have a good doctor. Take care! 🙏🏻
Oh, something else. My baby brother had a kidney removed in 1956. He lived a very active and long life with no negative results.
Oh my. The photo of Elsie...what a little doll!
The exact same thing happened to me! Got extremely ill, went to the doctor who ordered a scan - a mass on my right kidney . Thankfully, we have a wonderful urologist at Vanderbilt in Nashville. Dr. Chang removed 1/3 of my kidney. I’m 7 years out from that now. I shall be praying for you and your precious family. Stay positive. God bless you.
So sorry! Cancer is on the rise since covid. My best friend’s mom (in remission 9 years) now she has turbo cancer, stage 4 breast cancer. We are devastated! 💔
Beloved child of God, I am covering you in prayer. No matter what, our almighty God is in control. Love to you & your family!🤍
If you’re in touch with God and he’s in control, perhaps you could ask him why he gives babies cancer ?
@@TheCurlyclubmaybe it's your atheism with science and big pharma, why blame it on God
Brian, God has you and Jessica both in the palm of his hand! We have a friend who lost his kidney to cancer three years ago with absolutely no issues since. Our nephew lost his kidney at six weeks old, and has lived with no issues as well. He is now 43 years old! You got this, miracles happen and God is at work!🙏🏻❣
As an RN, hearing that if it’s cancer , “thankfully “ it’s in the kidney. High cure rate. Many prayers for you all.
Oh Brian, I really hated seeing the title for this. I'll be praying for you, Jessica and Elsie. May the Lord bless and keep you.🙏🙏🙏
He and Jessica ate vegan junk food for the past 2 years, gained 100 lbs and screwed up their health.
I certainly hope not, you two have been through enough
I was diagnosed with kidney cancer just before Christmas. Had a biopsy in March and it came back malignant. I was told I had Chromophobe RCC and I have my surgery April 30th. Best of luck to you, I ll keep you in my prayers. ❤🙏
Praying for you. God bless you

@@amielawhorn3537Thank you so much. That means a lot.❤🙏
Don't worry about this. My mom had it in her early 70's and only had a recurrence about ten yrs later. They resectioned her kidney and had one and a half left. When it came back she would've made it, but she had also been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and that's what she passed from after one year. Praying for you and Jessica.
My mom has a tumor on her kidney and it was not cancer and the recommendation was just leave it alone. She lived a long life.
Sending prayers and hugs.
It was probably a cyst(liquid filled) versus a cancerous nodule
I have a dear friend who had cancer in the kidney. Now he is cancer free and is doing great. You got this
My husband had kidney cancer 8 years ago. The urologist thought the tumour had been there ten years; it was about twice the size of yours. It had grown outside the kidney but hadn't spread anywhere else. He had a his entire kidney removed and has been very well - better than he could ever remember feeling - since. Yep, the recovery was a bit tough, but he did really well and is just grateful. I am, too. It'll be ok. :)
My husband's best friend was in a really bad car crash about 10 years ago that almost killed him. They scanned him head to toe and found kidney cancer. They told him if he hadn't had that crash, they'd have never known because kidney cancer has no symptoms until it's too late. When they find it early, it's usually because they're looking for something else. He had his kidney removed. No radiation or chemo or anything and he's been fine ever since. He had a worse time recovering from his crash!
Brian, my husband found his RCC because of a kidney stone. It is a blessing to find RCC so early because generally, they don’t. I will be praying for you. My husband had a partial nephrectomy 6 years ago last month, just after he turned 40. I am so thankful it was found.
Hi Brian! My husband has a similar story as yours. In 2021, he was 44 when we found out about his kidney cancer. His cancer was found by chance when he got a scan for his liver. He had no symptoms at all. His tumor was about 7cm. We live in Canada, the doctor here removed it and then did the biopsie. The cancer was agressive but it was removed on time and did not spread anywhere. The surgery went well and he’s living very well with one kidney. Thinking of you and hope everything will go for the best.
Prayers for you, Brian! Wishing you all the best.
The Lord Bless you and keep you and Jessica and your sweet baby girl.
Most RCC is found incidentally. Mine was found in 2014. RCC with mets to my lungs. After radical nephrectomy and 6 mos immunotherapy, I have been NED for almost 10 years. It took me a while, but I have been plant based for 5 years now. I do have some chronic fatigue, but other than that all is good. Peace and blessings to you and you sweet family. You got this!

My gosh, yous are really going through it! Sending love, prayers and healing energy. Love yous!
Seven weeks ago I had major abdominal surgery for ovarian cancer and am about to undergo chemo as a precaution against recurrence.Being plant based and otherwise fit and healthy didn't stop me getting cancer but I know it helped in my recovery.I wish you well.Stay positive.

Brian, I am sending up prayers to the Lord that He will bless you according to His plans for you. You and Jessica are both fighters who support each other. I'm so sorry Brian. Prayers, love, and hugs to you❤ 😢
Goodness. Sending up prayers!
I had a heart MRI and it found a 7cm mass in my kidney. It was in the cantre so I had my kidney removed. That was 7 years ago and I am living happily with my one and only kidney. There is no treatment other than a nephrectomy. Just about all kidney cancers are found accidentally and thats great because its early before ever you get any real symptoms. We are very lucky to have had these accidental cancer finds. Good luck, you will be fine I am sure ❤
I’m so sorry! Prayers for you both

Great video first time viewer and subbed.
Brian - your symptoms with the extreme gas, pain in the colon (especially if it's in the lower left area of lower abdomen) and chills/fever all sound identical to hubby's diverticulitis. "A colonoscopy is generally considered safe, but there is a small risk of complications, including the potential to exacerbate existing diverticular disease." You may have the condition and the colonoscopy exacerbated the diverticulitis when you got home from the procedure. If you do indeed have the condition, is it is manageable by avoiding things like seeds, kernels, etc. which get stuck in the "pocket" -- Please know we are praying for you during the biopsy and subsequent treatments.
My husband used to do the fever, chills etc. and his turned out to be Crohn’s disease.
The guidance to avoid seeds and nuts is dated and has no evidence-based support in current medical literature.
@@jwhite4083 The only thing that triggers hubby's diverticulitis are tomato seeds. If he doesn't get any, he never has an episode. If he does, he does. It's been that way for 20 years.
I believe you when you say you'll do everything you can to be healthy. Your daughter is lucky to have a dad who will fight hard to watch her grow up. Best to all of you.
