For the kimbap, I microwave it for half of the recommended time, pan fry it with sesame oil on both sides, and top them with a little chili oil/chili oil crunch.
me and my dad usually get the rice triangles and the Kimbap from Trader Joe’s and the shelves for the Kimbap get cleared so fast that is soon as we hear that they havethe delivery we have to grab it before someone else
These Asian food hauls are great, saves me the trouble to sample everything myself. I really like it when you show the nutritional label on the packaging since I'm on low-carb, I need to see if something can work with my diet. Thanks and keep up the good work.
your b roll is really great! I've never noticed it before in your food reviews but I like how detailed the shots are. I feel like you can really tell what the food is like.
I really loved the mango sticky rice snacks! I love that chewy texture of the mango with the crunchy rice. The contrast of textures is really enjoyable.
For chewy Boba I premake the tea and refrigerate it. The Boba texture is better when you add the warm boba to a cold drink, instead of introducing it to warm brewed tea and then adding ice.
I really like the jumeokbap rice balls. The kimbap is good but I prefer the HMart ones although I haven’t tried all of the varieties yet. I want to try the spicy squiggly noodles, the seaweed snacks and the shrimp baos. I think the shrimp bao would be good with some cilantro and/or green onions.
The shrimp bao looked so cute! It's too bad the rice paper was not good in the spring rolls because they looked so tasty. The prices for most of these items wasn't too bad either. Awesome video Meimei!
i tried the frozen pad see ew the other day and it was honestly delicious. not very sweet and no egg so i add some sugar and scramble an egg in and it's bomb
A friend brought the Mango Sticky Rice snacks back to Canada for us to try but they were more chewy than crunchy, oddly. Maybe it was an old bag? Flavour was great but texture wasn't my fave - too chewy, IMO Excited about the Egg Waffle and new Kimbap flavour!
that made me hungry! i've only tried the brown sugar boba mochi. i think the white-ish layer around the filling is like a marshmallow layer that's used to keep the filling from making the mochi part too wet or something. I see it in the daifuku you can buy in the japanese markets as well. other than that, thanks for the reviews! i'll have to try some of these other foods
OMG!! i'm always jealous when you do a Trader Joe's haul because you always show a lot of asian products and we barely have any asian products here at our Trader Joe's in Las Vegas 🙁
I picked up the kimbap a few times and love it. We love sushi rolls and gave it a try. Very good. Then I told my son we could make our own and did.. came out great! I haven't seen some of the other items but now seeing this.. next time I go I will try some. I did see the rice ball but the sodium was high for me.. so I always put it back.
Hi, meimei, I enjoy watching your Costco and trader joe's viedos. However, be careful about those plastic containers or bags. Try not to heat those plastic in microwave or hot boiling water as much as possible. Keep up the good work!
You're so right about the OG squiggly noodles. When I got them, I was so disappointed so I was squinting at the spicy version. Glad you liked them so now I wanna try!!! Also, I've tried the jumeokbap and was so pleasantly surprised! They were so good and I want to get them again.
When I first had the mango sticky rice crisps, I wondered how you would react! Such an interesting taste and texture. I didn't know what to think about it! Crunchy and kind of sweet and gummy and kind of salty and kind of buttery!
The bubble waffles are a favorite of mine, but they were always sold out! I was lucky to be able to buy it twice and then they were no longer selling them. I hope they bring them back!
Omg I loved the bubble waffles so much but haven’t seen them back in our east coast stores. The cheesecakes were disappointing to me and I know I’m weird but I like the boba mochi!
I’ve tried the bubble waffles and really like them. Couldn’t find them again, along with the Mango Rice Crisps. I really like the mango flavor and still can’t find them in Northern CA again. Keep trying to find the Japanese soufflé cheesecakes, but haven’t seen it here in Northern CA.
Mango sticky rice was meh. I was curious how you’d react and it’s pretty on par with mine. It wasn’t that tasty so it took a bit to finish the bag. Definitely not something I’d get again. Not bad, but very meh. Kimbap I enjoyed, but hmart ones have more variety and less sodium. One thing of the TJs one is around 1,000mg of sodium and honestly idk where the sodium is coming from lol. Egg waffles on my shopping list. I was just there and didn’t see them! I usually skip the dessert section though LOL. Also, I already knew the spring roll wrapper would be hard lol! Usually you gotta eat them fresh. Like boba, once you refrigerate it, it goes hard and almost crumbly. You could nuke it, but then you’d risk making all the fresh ingredients all mushy.
I love watching your content on new foods at trader joes and costco. It's been a while since you've done any new SF eateries and foods, and I'm hoping you'll do one soon. I live in the bay area, and I'm always looking for new foods and restaurants to try.
We love the Boba kit but boil it and add jasmine green tea, so good! We love the tartness ❤❤❤ for Kimbap, pan fry with eggs 😉 can't find the spring rolls here but I guess it's OK 😅
i kept getting clumps of sesame paste in my squiggly noodles and felt just a little dumb and mostly thankful learning to mix the sauces first before adding the noodles😅
I don’t know why I keep torturing myself by watching these Trader Joe’s taste tests when the closest one to me is a solid road trip away! 😂Guess I'll just have to live vicariously through your taste buds. Great video!
Hi Mei, Just here to let you know that my 4 year old daughter loves your videos. Her usual response when she sees your thumbnails is "yay japan!" lol We've never been to trader Joe's, but I think we'll have to make a trip there soon 😊
LOL! Just gave the kimbap to my boyfriend last night and he insisted that it was tuna kimbap! Then he said, "That's funny, it says 'Korean Tofu and Vegetable Seaweed Rice Roll". It doesn't mention tuna!" Duh! That plus half a bag of TJ's frozen pork gyoza was his dinner. Very happy Hawaiian.😎
I live in Canada now so no trader Joe's 😢 but im going to be in the states for christmas and I cant wait to go to TJ's!! Going to have to bring home some snacks with me
If you would be interested in comparing the Trader Joe's squiggly noodles to the Momofuku packaged noodles, I'd love to see that. It looks like they have very similar packaging and cooking instructions and may be made by the same manufacturer.
OMG! I love shopping at TJ’s when we visit family in the Bay! We go to the Delaware St location before getting on 92 heading back home to Manteca. I will try these next time! Can’t wait! Thank you for doing this vid! Look forward to the next one!
What are your favorite Trader Joe's items? Have you tried any of these? Lmk your thoughts!! 🥰
@@feedmeimei the gummy tummy penguins
The Kimbap is sooo yummy
My favorite Trader Joe’s item is the Bubble waffles!!!!!!
I had pretty much the same reaction to the mango sticky rice snacks!! 😅 Definitely mid, but the seaweed snacks are an obsession 🤤
It’s now the squash mac n cheese thanks to you putting it on my radar! Thank you 😊
For the kimbap, I microwave it for half of the recommended time, pan fry it with sesame oil on both sides, and top them with a little chili oil/chili oil crunch.
that some chef skill my friend

I like how you say bye in your videos. It’s like you’re saying bye to friends after having a fun time with them.
I don’t live anywhere near a Trader Joe’s but I still love watching your reviews! You just have such a chill, relaxing vibe❤
Tried the kimbap for the first time today! Really good!
hehe yay i'm glad you liked it too!! so happy that they're easier to find now too 😋
I sprinted to UA-cam when I saw you posted 💕 love you meimei! I live in the bay too and I hope I run into you one day!!! BAY AREA ICON
yesss definitely say hi if you see me around!! ❤️❤️
@@feedmeimeiyou’re my best friend I really like you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@feedmeimeiyou’re very pretty
Yaaah! Love seeing your Asian food review videos. I love TJ‘s Taiwanese scallion pancake. Not a new product but it has been a staple in my freezer 😊
Another staple that I am unable to get in my country. I absolutely adored them.
Same!
your b roll is really great! I've never noticed it before in your food reviews but I like how detailed the shots are. I feel like you can really tell what the food is like.

I love the kimbap and jumyeokbap. Both great for days when I'm working and need a quick lunch.
Love the videos! Watching this with the whole family! ❤️❤️
haha aw yay I love that!!! say hello to everyone for me 🥰❤️👋
Kimbap hack - after microwaving, crisp up in the air fryer ☺️
Thank you for trying all of these!
hi meimei! my mum and i loved the yesterday’s vlog and i’m super keen for this video 💗 hope you’re well!
aw yay love that you guys watch together, it warms my heart 🥹❤️🥰
Oh nooo I love the shrimp roll with cashew dipping sauce 😊😊 already repurchased it a few times
The triangle rice balls are perfect for a single serving of egg fried rice. I always toss it in a frying pan with some eggs and more veggies
The shrimp bao is pretty good. Steam them in a bamboo steamer and they are delish. Scallions and sliced cucumbers added in. Mmmmm!
You should 100% make a cooking channel
I'm obsessed with the mango sticky rice crisps.
I will never unsubscribe from you, you’re too wholesome and your videos are so good!
I love those jalapeño wontons!!!
I looove the bubble waffles 🧇
Lets gooo, a new vid!!! ❤ I’ll watch this after I finish homework so I don’t get distracted…
haha good luck on ur studies!! ❤️❤️
you’re amazing!!🧡🫶🏻
always so kind 🥹❤️ thanks camryn!!!
I love those crunchy seaweed snacks! But yes! They don’t put enough in the bag.
the mango crispy rice is so goooddd!!
These are so satisfying to watch like- I loveeee your videos girl
The shrimp bao looked so cute! It's too bad the rice paper was not good in the spring rolls because they looked so tasty. The prices for most of these items wasn't too bad either. Awesome video Meimei!
YAY~ excited for a Trader Joe’s video!!! Had a bad day at work! This cheered me up a bit~ thank you! 😊

I always have like 4 rolls of the TJ kimbap in my freezer and make it with the TJ tteokbokki all the time! i'm addicted
Now I want to try all of these 😭
i hope you can find some of them at TJ's!!!
OMG!! i'm always jealous when you do a Trader Joe's haul because you always show a lot of asian products and we barely have any asian products here at our Trader Joe's in Las Vegas 🙁
Maybe wet the spring rolls with water to soften them again and salvage them if possible?
That was exactly my thought, maybe you could spray them with water and it would bring them back to the soft and chewy texture

I really like the tempura seaweed snack.
hi meimei!!! I love the tofu kimbap but you really have to try crisping them up in a pan! It’s so delicious that way!! 😋😋
Try the orange chicken it’s really delicious

Hi Mei Mei!! I LIVE for these videos! ❤️ Currently making a wonton noodle soup with ingredients only from Trader Joe’s!! 😋😋

I agree about the mango sticky rice snacks.

I wonder how the rice balls compare with the Bibigo plant-based bulgogi ones? I find the Bibigo ones are pretty good.
Trader Joe’s is the best!
I just found you!! So happy! Where did you get that awesome steamer?? See you again!!
I recently had the Korean rice ball and I want to have more of it!
I loveeeee the rice balls, I keep a bag at work and eat a pack for lunch! I will say I dip it in soy sauce or siracha!
Omg so excited to watch thissss:D
yay i'm so glad!! hope u enjoy the vid 🥰❤️
The kimbap is so good!
I totally agree on the kimbap, TJs is better than Costco!
Did someone say TJ as in cup of TJ friend of Mei Mei?!
I LOVE THE KIMBAP AND THEIR TTEOKBOKKI AND THE MUSHROOM CHICKEN
Loving the content Meimei!

We've never been to trader Joe's, but I think we'll have to make a trip there soon 😊
For those noodle dishes.
Add a spoonful of chunky peanut butter. 💁🏻♀️
9:06 I’ve made this my lunch for every day of the work week for the past few weeks! 😅

15:12 I need these so baddddd
1:46 they are good but I added some additional pepper and tofu - also added some ramen seasoning too
Hi Meimei! Where did you get your knife holder in the background? Thanks for your videos! The kimbap looks so good!
I was up all night trying to see if they had the Macaroni you got from Trader. I cant wait to get it
i wonder if you could rehydrate the spring rolls with a damp towel, after all regular rice paper is just dried out right 🤔
I see a Trader Joe’s run in my future
Ooooo the bubble waffles are heaven! Dip them in Nutella and it’s heavenly!❤😮😊
Edit: or if ur a vampire! Loll cracking up
If you would be interested in comparing the Trader Joe's squiggly noodles to the Momofuku packaged noodles, I'd love to see that. It looks like they have very similar packaging and cooking instructions and may be made by the same manufacturer.

I'm so hungry now! 😫😄
Mei Mei I am a new subscriber. Love your reviews!!
I'll try the egg waffle.
I think David change has all line of those types of noodles.
