    John Deacon is still married to her and they have six children. Notice John is playing the keyboard on that song, Freddie hated electric keyboards and only wanted to play on a grand piano, so John learned on the keyboard and this is the song that he came out with as he was learning. I’ve always loved this song.

    It's one of those very famous songs that's been used in a lot of things and it was a top 20 hit in the U.S. too. And that's Deacon playing the electric piano on the song. John said that Freddie couldn't stand electric pianos, he loved grand pianos. Deacon was in the process of learning to play the piano so he took the electric piano home and wrote this song while he was learning to play the instrument.

    Hey, L, this didn’t just chart, it was a worldwide mega hit and has remained popular ever since. It’s the world’s top wedding song. So you’ve heard it on the radio or in a shop or at a wedding, for sure, probably many times.
    She gave John six kids and they’re still married so I guess this sublime love song did the trick. 😁 Or maybe John Deacon is really good to be married to.
    This unassuming, quiet bass player was a brilliant songwriter. He also wrote other songs you know, another mega hit: another One Bites the Dust. And Under Pressure. You know it, trust me. I want to Break Free. And many more: Spread Your Wings is also lovely.

    This is a comment regarding the band overall. Queen was relatively young when they “Made It”. They really hustled between the “Band”, “Plan A” and “Plan B” was their studies;
    Roger Taylor: Dentist
    Brian May: Astrophysicist
    John Deacon: Electrical Engineer
    Freddie Mercury: Art & Fashion
    Obviously, these guys were no slouches. And when they “Made It”, ALL of them, except John Deacon, lived the Rock lifestyle, on and off stage. But John considered Queen a job and lived a humble lifestyle with his wife and kids.
    After Freddie died, the remainder of the band put together an Album or two using Freddie’s vocals that he recorded on his death bed. The very last video Queen recorded with John Deacon was “No One But You, Only The Good Die Young”. John never played with Queen again. He felt like I feel. There is no Queen without Freddie.
    Although, Brian and Roger continued touring under the name of “Queen - Featuring Adam Lambert” and Paul Rogers as lead vocalists, I couldn’t and cannot bring myself to even want to see Queen without Freddie or John. I felt like I was betraying them.
    (Tidbit - Adam Lambert has a cameo appearance in Bohemian Rhapsody. Lambert played the truck driver that pulled up to a truck stop while Freddie was on the phone with Mary.) Just saying.

The theme from "Flash" as well here in the states and in the UK. Queen's music will always live on generations from now. Actually I think the "been wandering around" line was reference to the fact that Queen had started to get big and were doing tours all around the world, although I don't discount the possibility that it could refer to other things. I love this song so much and I melt into a pile of mush when I imagine young, newly-wed, lovesick John writing this for his Veronica. It must have worked to some degree since they're still married with six kids! John was a really great songwriter. I don't think he ever wrote a bad song. Even his not-hit ones - things like Misfire, Who Need You and Need Your Loving Tonight - are really good songs even if they weren't singles or in the charts.

      @rebelpearl 5 років тому +4

      bbbfst I Want to Break Free has to do with John wanting to overcome his shyness and being less ‘the quiet one’ of the group. He was very upset that Roger’s idea of a soap opera (a show called Eastenders) theme to the video was used. It made it seem that the song was about Freddie coming out instead of someone wanting to change their life and the way other people saw them.

    • @walover165
      @walover165 5 років тому +3

      @@rebelpearl I thought John found the whole drag setup hilarious and had an absolute blast doing it. I'm sure that was in an interview he did. Even Freddie tells the anecdote that once the idea was tabled: "the other THREE practically ran into their frocks" (referring to Brian, Roger and John).

    • @rebelpearl
      @rebelpearl 5 років тому +1

      GladiatorKnightGhost Yeah it’s a bit confusing. I can’t remember if it was an interview with Roger or with their manager who said John was upset. It’s very possible that John may have gotten upset after it came out and a lot of people - especially those outside the UK - thought it was a coming out video. Only those involved would know the truth.

    And from a ladie's perspective that song is all about the kind of love that outlasts the physical. It sounds like a man who values his wife so much there's not much hurtful behavior for either to deal with. I’m pretty sure the “wandering” is more or less literal, as Queen went on crazily long tours all over America and Japan among other places. Veronica Deacon was pregnant with his first son Robert at the writing of this song. The two of them are still married and have 6 kids and an unknown quantity of grandkids. He was 24 when he became a dad, and he was and is incredibly devoted to his family. There was an interview with John where he described his hobbies as “having children”. Freddie and he were especially close, and he retreated from the public eye in the 90s.

    she ain't gonna let you get away with shit... but she'll always love the tune!!, lol
    I've seen a lot of these Queen reaction things now... and you, by far, are the best!! The only man that takes the time to find out a little about a song beforehand.... much respect to you and have a great year!!! Stay cool 😎

    Queen ain’t no joke. I am still surprised at songs that I didn’t know they made. Stone cold crazy is one of them because someone else remade it and the song called Let Me Entertain You. I’m like hold up I heard that before didn’t know it was a Queen song🤷🏿‍♂️

    I love love love your reactions. I think you're ready for Teo Torriate with lyrics. It's the song I've chosen for my funeral. It's not a sad song, it's just BEAUTIFUL. And you'd be singing in Japanese. I would love to see you doing that!!!!

      @@isabelriquelme8744 I speak Spanish and I love when Queen mixes a little Spanish here and there so I can relate to the Japanese crowd excitement when a beautiful song like this has a whole chorus In their language ❤️

    It's one of the most classical love songs. but My favorite love song by Queen is Love of My Life! IMHO! this sont is a flat out panty dropper! it's pure magic as far as i am concerned. look up the clips where is plays it infront a large crowd and they all sing it with him (not the montreal concert) just pure awesomeness!
