U can see it was being renovated, there are even large buckets of paint or spackle in the kitchen. Someone could squat in there and end up taking over. I don't know the squatter laws in Alabama but SOMEONE needs to save that beautiful home.
Well let alone it's tragic history and the majority of people being scared of and believing in "the other side" When the restoration would cost upwards of 5x more than the house itself is even worth,no renovator/investor is gonna take that risk of dumping a half a million dollars into a house worth 20k dollars and no one still buys it because of its dark history.
We're talking old galvanized pipes from 1985, led paint on the walls and window sills, old outdated wiring, not to eeven mention the giant pillars that have fallen out of place that hold up the roof/overhang, best bet for that place is to just bless the land and tear it down

I imagine anyone who tried it sensed something very off or sinister about that house. It's been rumored that any time a horrific event like that takes place anywhere it leaves a spiritual "scar" in that spot so to speak. I wouldn't be surprised if the boy's soul is stuck there.
I could see this happening, I'm 61, but back in early 70's my stepfather was really messed up in the head and cruel, I would be working in the garden and if i was bending over, he would kick me in the butt just to see me tumble over, I finally left home at the age of 13 after he burnt up all of our furniture that my father bought when my parents were married.
I lived a couple towns away , never knew this story . How horrible for that young boy . May he Rest In Peace and may his next life be grand, and that old man rot in hell .

It looks like a newer metal roof. You can tell from one of the pictures you posted that it obviously wasn’t the same roof as when the newspaper published the story of the murder.
This is another house that must have been beautiful when it as built in 1918. But the story of the young boy who was murdered is heartbreaking. Wish the authorities had listened to Jason when he explained what happened. It's sad the mother didn't step in to protect Allan from the evil monster that killed him.

Mr. Lucy looks like John Gotti Sr. You'd think if someone's renovating it the house would have electric on to do the renovations that require power tools. This is a sad case. Why they adopt him if they were gonna kill him?
I think the article was being overly dramatic. There weren't a lot of "treasure hunters" digging around there -- just the new owner and his crew who were checking for termite damage to stabilize the porch.
Ive watched abandoned house videos since around 2014. And a lot of them say a murder happened here...and then they just give you one sentence about it. You really showed the truth, pics and news articles. That's excellent. It's a shame the house is in such disrepair but if they GAVE it away it would cost SO much to fix and then you would still have to maintain, heat and cool it. Houses that huge need a ton of money in today's world. By the way....my guest room on the east side is bright yellow. People used to do that SO guests had to get up early and wouldn't want to stay. LoL my opinion on an Air Force base owning it....see if it's strategically located near a major transit route or river. My guess is they own properties for "staging" if they ever have to since commandeering property in the civil war didn't go so nicely. Just an idea.

The outside needs the most work but the inside is almost completely done aside from some cosmetic stuff. I noticed a hole in the ceiling in the hallway upstairs too. If I had the money and the nerve to move all the way to Alabama I would love to oen and restore that house. The pantry in the kitchen is lije my dream come true 😂😂 I love big pantries!! An upstairs “porch” is called a balcony. The tile over the toilet downstairs sounded like a stained glass window when you knocked on it.

Ive watched abandoned house videos since around 2014. And a lot of them say a murder happened here...and then they just give you one sentence about it. You really showed the truth, pics and news articles. That's excellent. It's a shame the house is in such disrepair but if they GAVE it away it would cost SO much to fix and then you would still have to maintain, heat and cool it. Houses that huge need a ton of money in today's world. By the way....my guest room on the east side is bright yellow. People used to do that SO guests had to get up early and wouldn't want to stay. LoL my opinion on an Air Force base owning it....see if it's strategically located near a major transit route or river. My guess is they own properties for "staging" if they ever have to since commandeering property in the civil war didn't go so nicely. Just an idea.
I'm figuring it's a spot where the Air Force can bounce a satellite signal into the Atlantic, which is about 400 miles east along Highway 80, or to the Gulf of Mexico which is about 140 miles due south.

Exactly! I wonder why they abandoned it? They put a lot of work into it. The entire inside looks very good. It could still be restored! The outside needs the most work but the inside is almost completely done aside from some cosmetic stuff. I noticed a hole in the ceiling in the hallway upstairs too. If I had the money and the nerve to move all the way to Alabama I would love to oen and restore that house. The pantry in the kitchen is lije my dream come true 😂😂 I love big pantries!! The open space in this house is my dream too. It's perfect.
They say that when you start working to restore a house , the haunting incidents will typically increase! Restoration often stairs up the past!
