- Welcome to the Anatomy of a Pikes Peak racecar build! Where we go full nerd on a racecar build that's - let's be honest - something that's way too over our own heads. Thankfully our buddy Betim is well versed in Porsche Motorsport technology, so he takes us on a geared spirit journey to building a ridiculously fast twin turbo Porsche 911 GT3 Pikes Peak special. I love watching this channel because I learn a TON. I work in IT and it seems that we all eventually get into cars (small component assembly seems to be an attractive part of it) and we deal with cavitation in consumer level open loop water cooling. People often run their pumps dry to "test" them and it ends up burning them up. I had no idea this sort of thing was shared to any other field!

For real though, I absolutely love every single Hoonigan build, but it's awesome getting this Hoonigan look at a race car build.
Scotto's back on camera. I haven't seen much of him this year, but I understand that working on rusty European cars from the north-east by yourself after hours is a drag.
I have to say that I think the production quality and sound for the 911 build is awesome. I wish the Porsche shop would do their own YT series as the attention to detail and fantastic looking cars is enough to hook me. I'm making my way through all the videos in this series … really great stuff.
Now THIS is a proper build show. Professionals doing expert level work.
Honestly the biggest surprise in this episode is something of Scotto's is running and driving 😂
Fantastic verbal power points from BBI on the Pike build AND the guy is so knowledgeable about the machine and the engineering in assembling the revised Cup car that folk want to dial up and plead for a build spot...that is how you build a successful business...humble, smart and deliver the goods on time and on budget...great job BBI!

i'm really stoked for this build. ive never wanted to get into porsche simply because of the cost but i've always dreamed of being able to buy or even drive a GT3/GT2 on this level

That fuel system alone is a work of art. It's absolutely mind blowing thinking about how much work has gone into just guaranteeing there will always be fuel at all times. Unbelievable engineering accomplishment.

Hoonigan Project Cars Nah they're probably winging it as hard as you guys are, they just have more experience with winging it so it works out better for them. Also helps that they have deadlines for customers and races aha

Please put all episodes in the series together somewhere to make them easier to find. Also please have Betim talk more about water to air vs air to air and why they bailed out on the former; I think it is just a delta T thing across two heat exchangers vs one. And weight out. But would be cool to hear how they went so far down that road and when they realized they needed to bin the water setup.
Those parts are so cute. 😂. That block looks smaller than my lawn mower.... God how I would love to work on these more than bbs or sbs. Split case box motors 😍. The design behind these are phenomenal.

That Creaform 3D Scan Black is probably over $100,000.00 according to the price check I did. 22 simultaneous lasers painting the body, but the quality of the scans are out of this world. That is such an amazing work flow.
