    As a software engineer at a company that makes integrated infotainment systems for OEM manufacturers, I want to emphasize just how much work must have gone into the electronics. To have it almost perfect at install using dozens of devices, modules, and sensors, 2 ECUs, and all that harnessing is beyond incredible. I've been on cross functional teams with some real rockstars and never have I seen anything remotely close to that even with years to develop a project. The engineers for that system deserve the highest level of praise and I would love to operate on that level. It still hurts to think about this amazing project built for a man that was equally legendary but was taken away before they could become a legend together. RIP Ken Block and I hope someone comes along and helps this pigasus fly as it should in his honor.

    • @DaftFader
      @DaftFader Рік тому +3

      YES! This. I was just thinking who should take it up there, as it has to go up there at some point. Lia just makes the most sense, she's the only one that makes sense TBH. Good call. I was really happy that they got to finish her car before Ken passed, as she has something they did together that she can cherish, if it was an unfinished project it would be really sad, just like this project is upsetting to think never became realised for Ken. Her taking it up pikes would actually be such an amazing tribute to her dad. It'll probably be some time before she would even be able to think about something like that though unfortunately. ;(

    • @KyleKnoblauch
      @KyleKnoblauch Рік тому +2

      @@DaftFader That shakedown video of the Quattro brought a tear to my eye, Ken never got upset with Lia, as he understood the reason why it kept stalling and bogging down on Lia wasn't due to her lack of skill with a manual, as she's definitely had her share of experience with both real manuals and sequentials, and it was due instead to the car not being tuned/running properly. I also like when he teased that she'd still have to take her driver's test in it. Cheers, friend, have a great day

    • @DaftFader
      @DaftFader Рік тому +5

      @@KyleKnoblauch Yeah that was such a heart warming video. The second I heard the knews I went stright to denial, thinking it must be one of them internet memes where a ton of people start posting shit that x famous person passed. But the second I found out it was actually true, although I was upset myself, my initial thoughts were for how devastated Lia must be, and that frankly was more upsetting than finding out about Kens passing, knowing she had to now live on without her father from such a young age. It really is upsetting.
      I had a friend who lost his dad in his teens, and I saw how that effected him. It was like his whole world disappeared from beneath his feet. Dude was so sweet and nice to everyone for as long as he could, but you could tell he was mad angry inside, he'd never show it initially (apart from mby when he drank, but even then he would try not to most of the time, and mby just cry). I just hope Lia has better coping stratagies than my friend did, as he never got passed it whilst I still knew him (we were friends for mby 5 years, but unfortunately he eventually unravelled, I tried my best to stay friends with him, as I knew how much he was hurting, untill his behaviour got a bit too much for all of us with his ever increasing drug intake, and his blackout drunk sessions - and that's comming from an ex drinker, who drank at the time themselves, I tried my best though, and put up with way more than everyone else at the time). I'm just happy Lia is left with that car they built together as one of her last memories, as my friend had nothing but a few pictures to remeber his by, and thats all he wanted, to go back to then.
      Anyways, I'm upsetting myself talking about this and it's not even my father. Here's to Lia driving the hoonapigasis up pikes peak when she's feeling stronger in her dads legacy to fulfil his life long, unrealised dream, in his houner. (we can only hope huh). Best wishes bud.

Betim's explanation of everything that went into the build was amazing; he's not only a natural born engineer and mechanic, but also an amazing speaker. Still, there quite simply is absolutely no place in what you said here for the word "then"! It just does not belong! The word is. And should be "than"!
