Can I stand up for the DS brand? We seem to be particularly hung up on brands in the UK and DS suffers particularly. I don't know why this is - VAG has a load of brands under its belt and it's just accepted. BMW's new BEV is very expensive and made in China (not making a political point) but that is hardly mentioned. Korean cars 30 years ago looked hideous but are now accepted as some of the best. Styling is subjective but I really feel a lot of people reject french autos out of snobbery. I ran a DS5 Hybrid for nearly 5 years and it still felt special the day I traded it in. You either 'get' what DS are trying to do or don't IMHO. Agreed there needs to be more affordable BEVs to enable drivers to make the switch but there's still a place for a bit of luxury.
I know that EVM has reviewed the old ZS but I wish he would get the new model. I guess as pricing goes, the cost of a basic DS3 ev is about the same as a fully pimped out ZS.
2:54 just looking at the profile of the bodywork and the door, that kick up on the rear door, kinda give the shape of the Formula E car (DS Techeetah) - the roll hoop
I had a test drive in one of these, not at all impressed. Ordered a Hyundai Kona 64KWH which was head and shoulders above it in quality and how it drove.
@@ElectricVehicleMan Thanks for the honest assessment :) after driving it I can see why for us. Any recommendations for a similar sized car? eC4? e2008? others?
No heated seats ???, you’ll be telling me the steering wheel is cold next .🙄 my leaf has heated seats front and rear and steering wheel , all of which heat via the app 👍😁
Very nearly went for one of these but the pointless ugly looking fin along the side totally put me off, So I went for the e208 instead & am glad I did.
@@mikesmith666 wherever else it is used it is illogical and potentially dangerous to people moving from a gear stick ice car. What is the reason for back to front gear selection?

So 30K doesnt buy much quality by the look of it and a motorway range of 120 miles max not good really. If I had the cash I would buy a golf GTI all day long and actually enjoy getting places. The 70mph road noise on the DS3 is probably to put you off driving that fast and reduce (no) range anxiety.
Talking of pointless, what about that over sized front grille? A triumph of style over substance. Stellantis are really going to struggle against the Chinese onslaught when that starts in earnest.
🤔 Way, way too fussy and overdesigned, it's as though they asked a class of primary school kids to come-up with a design using an etch-a-sketch. Its as though they designed the inside first, realised it was full of plastic, so designed the outside as a distraction technique. As a well known motoring journalist once said " it's busier than a bishops hat" DS need to get their act together and decide whether they are intent upon being a premium brand or not, as a half-baked effort just doesn't cut it. Electric heated seats and steering wheel should be "a given" for a start. Nobody is going to take DS serious about being a premium manufacturer with this example. There are far better propositions to consider in this segment and at this price point. Oh... I actually purchased the car that the journalist was describing.... So what do I know? Those of a certain era will know the car I am referring to.... Answers on a postcard please! Btw, is the rumour true that you once spent 2 hours writing a script?... as it isn't obvious from this review 🤣😂 Well done for leaving the outtake in the final cut, unintended humour is always a winner👍
I am mystified as to why anyone would buy this. Ridiculous rear side window obstruction, very poor range, beaten by every competitor in its price bracket on many features.
The ë C4 is a much better option! Oh wait, you said so. I hope you have another chance to revisit the ë C4 for a longer test!
I really enjoy watching you two 'chatting'

This isn’t luxurious though, that’s the issue.
@@ElectricVehicleMan Point taken. I'll still watch your reviews;-)
Love this channel so much. Keep up the great videos. I prefer the eC4 too.
Cars like this, and the price of them is why I have ordered an MGZS Trophy. Cheaper, goes further, quieter and arguably better put together.

The gear lever would look interesting if it was located in the dashboard pointing upward
Lovely car but,
Could you please say where you recorded the opening sequence.
I know a lot of Scotland but not that view 🤔
Thank you .
Looked like Glen Nevis. Be interested to know for sure :)

how do you go about pricing insurance for e v cars
Ring up your insurer. It’s just a car.

Aren’t we due a podcast episode?
But if they add more premium materials, the price goes above 30k, who's Gona buy it? They has to balance some premium materials with cost.
If you could get an 18 month old one of these for £25k today, would you get one?
No.

back for drive forward for reverse, thats a reason to pass on this car.

PRND has been the standard for years. If it was reversed, what about people transitioning out of a standard auto? Same argument.
