    Awesome video as usual. Everything he says is true I've had kessils for The Last 5 Years. In my planted discus tank. And now in my reef tank. Currently running six kessils and 1, 48" inch Q Mavin II zetlight and one 24 inch zetlight Q Mavin II. Finally got rid of my t5 hybrid system. I Feel the T5s ruin the look of the kessil stunning coral pop!

    I enjoyed your video. I just found your channel. Are you still using the Kessil lights? It’s hard finding good videos on the Kessil lights.

    Greetings from Malta! Great video and thank you for the update. I see that you are supplementing with T5's. Is this in your opinion a must with the A360X to colour and grow SPS corals? And on a different note, I managed to mess up / delete the out of the box factory settings on the spectral controller. Is there any way to get those settings back? Looking forward to your next video!

      T5's are fefinitely not a must, my T5's are mostly for spread, if I had SPS only and didnt want to run t5's I would just add a 3rd A360X.
      I am fairly sure you can reset the factory settings from the settings menu on the controller. Otherwise I am sure someone has posted them online and you could rebuild the program back to identical to the default.

    Thanks for a great review. If it’s not too much of a problem, could you post your daily settings for the x360x. I would be very interested in seeing the full daily settings. Currently I’m running the out of he box LPS settings, via the spectral controller.

    How are these vs. the illumagics?

    • @ReefNerd
      @ReefNerd  4 роки тому +2

      I talk a bit about this in my introduction for the 3 month review video. As it was more fresh on my mind at the time. I ran the Illumagic Blaze 90 for 1 year before switching to Kessil. I dont think I would go back as I like the Kessil approach better. That said the Illumagic is a nice light, especially since they upgraded their app experience and offer more guidance now. However you need to beware that the Illumagic is capable of being set to spectrums that are dangerous and will bleach/kill coral. Its a powerful light. Price/power the Illumagic wins hands down, but experience, features, design, colour, shimmer and ease of use the Kessil wins.

      Ask on the Aqua Depot Imports Facebook page. They are the Australian distributor. When I spoke to them at Underwater Pet Expo they said they were coming very soon.

    Are those tangs in a 60 gallon or is the tank bigger than it looks ?? I'm just interested as I'm considering a tomini tang for my 65 but I am put off by tang police.

    • @ReefNerd
      @ReefNerd  4 роки тому +2

      It is an 80 gallon my current tank and yes there are two tangs, a blue and a yellow. I got them as babies 2 years ago they were about 1.5inch in size and they have grown up fast! I had always planned to either 1. give them to a friend with a larger tank or 2. upgrade my own tank; when they reached a size that made them unsuitable for my current tank. Obviously we have reached that time and I am going with option 2 :).

    Without the t5, what par and spread do you find from the kessil a360x with narrow reflectors

    • @ReefNerd
      @ReefNerd  4 роки тому +1

      With narrow beam reflectors at my mounting height I estimate about 1foot I’d spread. Basically double that without the narrow beam reflectors. For par readings checkout the reef2reef forums in the aquarium lighting section. There’s a bunch of par measurements at different heights posted there for the A360x

    Do you still use the reflector? And also would you combo them with say the radion g5 blue?

    • @ReefNerd
      @ReefNerd  4 роки тому

      Yup, I use reflectors on both lights. I am sure you can mix them well with radions, both are great lights with different spectrum and spread options so blending them would give great results I am sure.

  • @Botzz28
    @Botzz28 3 роки тому

    i was looking at the par for both the radion xr15 and this light and it looks like the radions are much more powerful... but i really like the look of kessil so much better but at the same time i know im going to want to grow some sps... im thinking i might be able to get away with the kessil since its only a small 15g peninsula tank...what do you think ?

    • @ReefNerd
      @ReefNerd  3 роки тому

      In a 15g tank either light will be easily overkill. You won’t be running either of them close to maximum or you’ll cook your tank no matter what coral your growing. The kessil is a sleeker unit and in my opinion looks nicer if that’s a factor for you.

    • @Botzz28
      @Botzz28 3 роки тому

      @@ReefNerd absolutely a factor for me and the color blending is amazing. I totally agree either might should be powerful enough for the 15 gallon. Kessil it is!

    do you prefer them over the illumagic that you had?

    • @ReefNerd
      @ReefNerd  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, the Kessils are a more polished and product and I prefer them for my tank. They are certainly more expensive, but for me it was worth it.

  • @hetabattousai
    @hetabattousai 3 роки тому

    Wouldn’t that tank be too small for two tangs?

    • @ReefNerd
      @ReefNerd  3 роки тому

      at the time this video was made, no, the tangs are still young and not too big. Today however, yes, too small the tangs are huge. However I have a much bigger tank now, more than double the size of this one. Check out some of my recent videos to see it!
