The diction that alt-J uses in their songs is so poetically abstract that I'm lost in its beauty. God I love it.
Alt-J always manage to tell entire stories in just one song and this song is no exception!

The into to the song always gives me goosebumps, I remember the exact feeling when alt-j played this at a concert. It was so amazing. I got a cold shock through my body, it definitely wasn’t because it was 35 and the concert was outdoors! I love talking about this feeling and my experience

A little history about Alt-J, they are an English indie rock band formed in 2007 in Leeds, by Joe Newman, Thom Sonny Green, Gus Unger-Hamilton and ex band member Gwilym Sainsbury. Their debut album An Awesome Wave was released in May 2012 in Europe, and in September 2012 in the United States, and won the 2012 British Mercury Prize. I discovered them in 2018 through my teenage daughter and fell in love with their music ever since..

This is a song about getting murdered. But like all Alt-J songs, it's not about exactly what the subject is, but capturing the intensity of human emotions in various situations of high emotion. The moments before death just so happens to be one of those things this band captures so poetically. So much raw emotion and truths in their music. My favourite band.
Taro is still my favorite alt-J song and it also is about a person's last moments before death. They have a gift to turn the intensity of these final moments into pure magic.

This song is very special for me. It also came out (and I first heard it) while I was on vacation in Amman, Jordan - which used to be called Philadelphia.

I'm a metalhead and Alt-J's my girlfriends favorite band, so had to go see them a few days ago. I normally don't appreciate indie, but these guys feel "heavy" to me for some reason. They were fantastic live. Gotta keep listening. This one's definitely my favorite on this album.
